The picture says it all, or at least most of it. We are happy the Chipotle skimping did not attack us. The customer service was great. He was kind and generous. Everytime ive gone to this location workers are always incredibly rude. I came in here and this one female worker saw me and through her head back in annoyance then visibly rolled her eyes at me. She was giving me attitude throughout the entire interaction, even though i was nothing but nice to her. Ive never been one to ever complain to a manager and this is my first time ive written a review, but im so disappointed with the immense attitude and disrespect everytime i go in. I am absolutely DISGUSTED by this place and the useless people working here!!! I walked in expecting a decent meal, and instead, I got a total circus. How on earth do you run out of WHITE RICE?! It is literally RICE. It costs pennies. Learn how to cook! Then, I tried to order the honey chicken, and of course, they didn't have that either. Why is it even on the menu if your lazy staff can't bother to prepare it? I stood in a ridiculous line just to be told I couldn't get anything I actually wanted. Put a sign on the door next time so I don't waste my valuable time! To make matters worse, the guacamole looked like straight garbage. It was completely brown, gross, and probably rotting. This location of Chipotle is legit; it meets my high expectations for any Chipotle in every category. The first thing I noticed was the immaculately clean prep area. The workers were cordial, expedient, and generous with portions. The guy rolling had obviously been trained on how to roll. The tables were so clean that I was encouraged to give my area a polish before leaving. There were no missing ingredients or accoutrements. Worst chipotle branch ever. Everytime they have some sort of issues going on with either their system or their food. I used to get my food from there because it's the closest but in the past 6 months it's just become unbeatable. I have had spent uncooked rice to short of ingredients to card not accepted to billing not working. In addition, we have also seen suspicious patterns. Like not accepting mobile orders when chipotle sends promo offers. This has happened today and 3 other times in past. So in all don't count on having a great experience on this chipotle location and straightway go to some other closest one. read more

This is the best location in the Madison area. They're always fast, friendly, and give you a good amount of food. Sometimes the trash is overflowing but other than that it's mostly clean. I ordered Chipotle catering for 20 people last weekend. We got the Build Your Own Order Double, for a late pick up at 9:30 p.m. I walked in 5 minutes early and a few employees were bringing the catering boxes up front. When I indicated they were mine, an employee (manager, maybe?) explained how long the food would stay warm/cool in their storage boxes and reheating instructions, then helped me load everything into my car. If you're craving fast causal Texas-Mexican food, this is the place to go. Depending on the visit, Chipotle can be a hit or miss for me. Based on today's visit, I'd say it was an average visit but there's a chance for it to be better. So, if you haven't been to a Chipotle chain before, you know that you'll order your food in an assembly-line style where you pick the type of meal you're getting, as well as all the fillings that go inside it. Typically when I go to a Chipotle, I'd order a variation of hard shell tacos with plain white rice and no cilantro, beans, protein, little bit of cheese and lettuce. Along with a bottle of grapefruit Izze! The last time I came on MLK day. Unfortunately, this place didn't have any hard shell tacos left, so I ended up leaving without purchasing anything. This time around, I had to repeat my order a few times in order to get it right. (Somehow the food server misheard me and just started putting in carnitas when I didn't even say anything expect for a hard shell tacos, which he also initially misheard and starting heating up soft taco wraps.) Since my order ultimately ended up being correct, and the meal tasted delicious, I could say this place is worth the visit when it's well stocked and when the employees can make my order correctly. read more

Worst Chipotle experience ever! Half the food trays are empty with four staff just looking at each other like they don't know what's going on. The meat had run out and they'd been apparently cooking it for 45 minutes. They didn't put enough in my burrito and we're waiting on it being cooked. As soon as I turned my eyes to the other person working on the second burrito the other person proceeded to go ahead and wrap my burrito up. I called her out on it and she said "oh that was enough". Why was she waiting for the meat to be cooked then? I should have just left and gone to Qdoba instead. When there what no veggies for the second burrito the guys just shrugged at me "they just started being cooked". He obviously didn't care. Not ever coming here again. read more

This branch, and Chipotle customer service, has really gone downhill. Order on line was not on pick up shelves, but bagged behind line staff... but they would not interact with me. I waited a long time to get someone to check and, sure enough- mine. Ordered with utensils as we were headed to Brewery on a Fri night. Parked a ways away, walked in with chairs and food, got a drink and them..... nothing. Couldn't eat without utensils and they forgot! Order also messed up some..wrong rice, no salsa. Chicken dry. Walked in around dinner time. They were cleaned out on the line. Like a Tornado went off. Needed Pinto Beans, Steak, Chicken, Rice. Asked team member that I would wait for fresh Chicken. In no rush. she then decides to use an old spoon to shovel the new chicken out of the new chicken pot. Food line station dirty, tables dirty, needed a complete refresh before the dinner rush and looks like the did not get that. I'll try the new one of mineral point from now on. read more

This is the worst managed chipotle I've been to which explains why staff turn over so quickly at this establishment and why this location no longer provides delivery and has shortened their hours of operations. During a recent visit, this location was completely out of stock of many items 2 hours prior to closing and indicated they were not making more. At the register, the cashier handed us our receipt and then indicated the card did not charge but that the receipt auto prints prior to charging... (Where does this ever happen?) Upon recharging the card, I asked a copy of my receipt since I was concerned of the double charge. Only at that point did the manager say he is unable to reprint a receipt which seemed suspect. All in all terrible experience with terrible interactions and management of the situation. Unsurprisingly, the fellow directly after us in line had returned because he had ordered pickup and was missing two burritos and had to call and return to obtain the rest of his order. read more

Never had a bad meal here. We always like to go here when we want to eat ' fast food ', as in no table service, and healthy. Spouse always gets the barbacoa burrito and I alternate between that or the sofritas (seasoned, minced tofu). I love watching the always friendly staff pile on all the fixing liberally. I have celiac, ordered my usual 3 hard shell tacos when i got them they looked so much different than my usual hard shell tacos. they almost looked puffy, like a fried flour tortilla, despite the fact that when I ordered online I ordered hard shell corn tacos. ate a half of one taco and felt like they were not safe for me because the shells almost tasted bready, like a fried pita. or like they ran out of hard shells so they fried up some flour tortillas. Don't bother with mobile orders. The staff will not make it if someone is standing in line. After waiting for 30 mins AFTER the designated pickup time, I had to demand they actually make the order. They should not offer mobile orders if they refuse to make it until someone walks in the door and waits for 30 mins or is unable to make their pick up times. read more

The food here is decent, just like every other chipotle, however every time i place an online order it gets messed up somehow. A couple weeks ago i got brown rice instead of white, which was fine i don't mind, but they also gave my mom guacamole, which she hates, and me beans, which i hate. we figured it was a one time thing but the next time my mom got guacamole again AND all the guacamole we got was brown and gross. Today we ordered again and we got 2 containers of guacamole instead of salsa with our chips. which i love but my mother hates. Every time we've double checked our order and it is always right, it's never us accidentally checking a box. Hopefully this gets changed soon as i usually like chipotle but this service kind UPDATE: came back hoping something would be different, it was horrible. several mistakes still make and the chips were very stale. also completely out of guac with no refund available and no notice because we had an order placed. read more

This has to be the saddest chipotle I've ever been to. I walk in and there is one guy behind the counter who doesn't say hello, granted it's probably because he is too busy switching items out from the salsa area, without gloves mind you. So his fingers are getting into everything. So I stand there for a good while, and no one says hi, even the lady across the room that clearly sees me pondering why there are no workers behind the counter besides this person who is not using gloves in the salsa bar area. Then I look at the beans and veggies and they all seem old. Man no wonder QDoba is doing much better in Madison - go there everyone. Last time I tried this place the steak was chewy and over cooked - and I tried to give them another shot today - but gross no thanks. This place hit the wall hard. I ordered a sofrita burrito and the man butchering my burrito gave me 1/4 of a scoop of rice. When I asked for veggies he gave me TWO pieces of veggies. TWO. Then he goes to put the sofrita on, the sofrita bucket was empty he picked it up, I assumed he was going to fill it up. No, he proceeded to scrape the black crusties off the rim of this empty bucket sprinkling it like it was salt on my midget of a burrito. It doesn't stop there. I ask for queso he dunks the scoop into my pequeño burrito picking up all the sofrita dust off my "burrito" the scoop now has rice chunks, sofrita and veggies dangling off of it. THEN HE PUT IT BACK IN THE QUESO BUCKET. At the end of my experience my friend asks for queso. She got a bucket of my burrito with queso it in. Finally we open our meals in the car and find A WHOLE Avocado in both of our burritos. A whole avocado. Ur probably thinking "oh she's overreacting, it's probs just a large slice of avocado." No. It was a whole avocado. One you'd find out side. Overall this place is equivalent to if the homeless people on state street built a Mexican place and hired eachother to run it. This wouldn't be a problem if it actually proved to be convenient and efficient. On multiple occasions I'd order my food and still had to wait over 20 minutes after the designated time THEY GAVE ME. On top of that before this idea was implemented I attempted to order 45 minutes before closed, and everything appeared to be closed and no food present however the doors were still open. The only reason this isn't a 1 star is because the food was made correctly, not hot, just correct. read more

Such a disappointment from a Chipotle! The food was great -very fresh and zesty for a reasonable price, as usual with this chain. The majority of the staff weren't responsive, almost as if they'd all just woken up -apart from the manager at the cash register. When my friend and I took a seat, he looked at me and said that he had never met someone so rude in the fast food service industry, which speaks for itself. The manager came through the seating area and swept all of the food, napkins and straws into one pile in the middle of the floor and left, it was just as much bizarre and it was unsanitary. I can only speak for the ladies room but the toilet also appeared to not have been cleaned for a lengthy amount of time. We're usually not on this side of Madison so avoiding this location won't be a problem but I urge this Chipotle location to reevaluate their employees and make some changes in restaurant cleanliness. C'mon, let's keep Chipotle living up to it's decent fast-food reputation! read more

The ingredients and overall quality of the food are fine, but my fiancé and I been coming here consistently every other week for probably the last 4 months and the employees can't seem to figure out how to roll burritos. I don't think it's their fault, but rather very poor training. It seems they always get to the step where they have to actually roll it up and look very confused, and then proceed to make a total mess of it which ultimately results in a soupy mess all over your hands. Interestingly, they all seem to do it wrong differently. I've even experienced one taller female employee acting super rude about he asking her to please correct the terrible wrap job-- everything was literally busting out the sides and she didn't care. Burritos here are a lost cause for me at this point and I'll probably just get bowls from now on since I usually end up asking for a empty bowl and fork to be able to finish my meal anyway. Our food takes much longer to receive than usual, our double-portion bowls have been no larger than regular size, our rice was undercooked and crunchy, the guacamole is brown, and the chips have been stale. Went to pick up my food that I had already paid for at 7pm on a Friday. Doors were locked, there were ten people in there staring at me. Ended up with my food literally being thrown out the door bounced off me and landed on the sidewalk by a female employee who told me I didn't deserve my f***ing food and to get the f*** away from HER door. On the whole, I'd give the Chipotle chain a solid three and a half stars. The burritos are big, the food is dependable, it's easy to customize, and things are surprisingly tasty for being a subsidiary of McDonald's. The reason this review gets one star is the horrible customer service and a fairly major flub on their part. This location is fairly busy, so I placed my order online so I could just go in and pick it up. I ordered a vegetarian burrito and chips & guac. Started with some chips, then moved on to my burrito. Took a bite and got a mouthful of chicken - not so pleasant when you order a VEGETARIAN burrito. Now, I'm not a vegetarian, but I'm not a super-big fan of meat, especially when I'm not expecting it to be there. If I was a vegetarian, I'd have been pissed. The receipt said veg and the wrapper had my name written on it, so I should have been reasonably confident that my burrito was not going to contain meat. I'm fairly easy-going, so if my burrito had otherwise been what I ordered, I would have just sucked it up and gone with it - I'd already driven there once. Unfortunately, it wasn't - whatever combination of fillings they put in the burrito was really unappealing to me. My unexpected meaty mouthful put me off my appetite for a burrito, so I decided to just finish my order of chips & guac and call it a day. I was meeting friends shortly and I didn't have time to drive back to Chipotle, wait in line while they made me another burrito, then eat. I needed to gas up the car, so I decided I'd just bring the burrito back for a refund and go to the gas station across the street. Upon my return, I went up to the register and explained to the cashier what happened. She was very apologetic and did her best to help me out - five stars for her. She went in the back to talk to the manager, and came back to offer to remake the burrito correctly since chicken and veggie burritos cost the same. I politely told her no thank you, and that I just wanted my money back. She disappeared into the back again, and came back to tell me the manager would be out in a minute. By the time the manager finally came out front, about 15 minutes had passed since I first talked to the cashier. This should have been a quick in and out. While at the register, the manager completely ignored me. Literally. No eye contact. I had expected her to ask me why I was returning my food and maybe offer in some way to "make it right" - at the very least an apology and maybe something more along the lines of a coupon/free drink/etc, seeing as how I had to come in twice, she kept me waiting forever, and, you know, I had been served meat in a vegetarian entree. Nope. She didn't say a single word to me and didn't so much as give me a glance. She inspected my burrito to make sure I wasn't making it up, fumbled with the cash register for a few minutes, then handed me my cash with a "thank you" and walked away - all very huffy and like it was a huge burden for her to push a few buttons on the cash register. There is no shortage of burrito places in town, including other Chipotle locations, so I doubt I'll be motivated to come back to this particular location ever again. read more

I've been going to Chipotle for years (I even lived near its very first location!) and have thoroughly enjoyed their burritos. I even contacted the company to argue for a location to be brought to my old college campus. So I will happily refer someone to head over to any nearby Chipotle for a good take on your classic mexican/american burrito. As you may tell this review is for Chipotle in general and not any individual location (though I have gone to this one). My order typically is: chicken burrito with extra white lime rice, black beans (sometimes a little extra), green salsa, chunky tomato salsa, sour cream, cheese, lettuce, guacamole, and I think the chipotle tabasco hot sauce is an excellent addition every other bite or so. Also, just get a cup for water and squeeze in some lemon juice and a couple packs of cane sugar for a refreshing fresh squeezed lemonade. Skip on the soft drinks and save them for somewhere else. read more
