You HAVE to go here! I will be thinking about this place for a while. We came here after a long day at our conference, and I was craving Mediterranean food. This is probably one of the best things I've had in a while. I got my beef kefta and kebab & I ate the entire thing. It was one of the best seasoned meats I've had in a long time. This is an off the beaten path Mediterranean restaurant. Hummus and pita are great. Service was fast. The restaurant is older but that wasn't an issue for us. I had the stuffed salmon which just wasn't what I thought I was getting. It was good but a meal cooked in a personal skillet with lots of cheese surrounding the salmon. I was trying to have a nutritious meal and just didn't bargain for the very heavy, fatty cheese baked meal. It was good but next time I'll just stick with the salmon. read more

Appetizers are quite large so be prepared for extra dips and pita. Entrees were also pretty large and SO good. Rice was cooked to perfection, all the meat entrees had so much flavor, just incredible. Our food was hot, flavorful, and the portion sizes were excellent for the price. We didn't love the seafood soup, but everything else was excellent. We had the beef and chicken kebab combo and the Mediterranean shrimp kebab. The beef was incredibly tender and seasoned well. The shrimp was in a delicious tomato sauce, and the hummus was terrific. I stopped by for dinner on a weekday evening. This place is in a quiet complex. The place was busy, but still seats were available. I went for mazza for 2 as the appetizer. It is a lot of food. I would say it can easily substitute an entree. Falafal, Hummus and Muhammara were my personal favorites in mazza. Beef kefta and beef kabob was my entree. Beef kefta was my favorite. My MIL brought us here for dinner because she is a fan of one of their chicken and artichoke dishes so I really wanted to like it, also because it seems like a small mom & pop shop. The food was okay, not amazing, but the prices on some of the items...??? I don't understand at all. The hummus and pita were good but the hummus serving is really small. I'm not sure if they charged for the second basket of hummus they asked if we wanted and if they didn't, I guess $7 isn't bad. I am STRUGGLING to understand $17.50 for a salad plate sized chicken shawarma meal which came with a yogurt sauce, less than half of that plate was chicken shawarma, and the rest was basically a couple spoonfuls of hummus. This is chicken we're talking about and you woulda been done in 5 forkfuls. In contrast, my husband's beef kabob plate had like 5 decent sized chunks of beef that were pretty yummy, plus rice, plus hummus for $19. The shawarma plate was a salad plate while the kabob was a dinner plate, if that helps with scale. We didn't have to pay for it but I feel bad my MIL did. Atmosphere was ok, it seemed like there were some young adults (teens?) working a shift at the time, but it wasn't crowded or too noisy. It was freezing in there though so bring a jacket if you get cold easily. read more

A great start is to order the family style TazaMazza-a combo of all the hits including baba ghanouj, hummus, tabouleh, grape leaves, feta...and the list goes on. Both the lamb and beef were delicious. Definitely recommend for Mediterranean food. Service however wasn't that great. They didn't seem to really know the menu and took a while. We took advantage of perfect Wisconsin weather and sat outside. It was roomy and comfortable, quiet enough for conversation and so much fun that others decided to sit outside as well. The service was fantastic, with one of the owners coming out to make certain that all our needs were being met. It appeared that two of the waiters (young men) were relatives of the owners. They were enthusiastic and suggested their favorite dishes when we asked. Our planned lunch stop on our way through Madison was packed and had no parking, so we had to call an audible and find something else. We managed to find Taza after our SECOND stop was closed. At his point in our trip, we could have eaten our shoes, so a nice, clean mediterranean spot to eat was a welcome sight. The service was great, the food was delicious and we were happy to have accidentally found Taza. The bathrooms were a bit sweaty (there was a shower in there?) and could have been a bit cleaner, but that's picking its. It's a true 3.5 stars, but a great lunch option for sure. read more

Among thousands of the Mediterranean restaurants, Taza stands out with its varied menu, perfectly balanced taste of all the dishes, and very welcoming hosts. Everything that we tried was outstanding. I highly recommend baba ghanouj, split yellow peas soup, stew of fava and garbanzo beans topped with tomato and olive oil, and falafel bowl. This may be the best Mediterranean food I have ever had! If you come, you must order the Taza Mazza. We had a group of 4, but ordered the 2 person Taza Mazza and it was perfect. Every single item on the platter was amazing! Next I ordered the Chicken taouk and kefta, which came with rice, hummus and a salad. I am SO full! Finished with baklava, which to me was heavy on the orange blossom syrup (I was not a fan). Lots of other dessert options to try here though, and the food is such high quality that I can't knock them for it. The service was also wonderful. Our server was so sweet. They were attentive with the water too. The inside isn't super exciting, we actually thought it was empty when we first walked in because the front area was empty. But the back dining room is where they seat people. 100% would come back!! read more

I'm on a mission to explore restaurants in Middleton and I found this hidden gem on Maps. I love Mediterranean food and this was the best food I've had in a long time. A friend and I went on a Saturday afternoon and it wasn't too busy. When I walked in I instantly felt welcomed and the food smelled amazing. While we looked over the menu the owner came over and told us about their seafood soup which had me intrigued. The seafood soup is usually on the menu in the summer but he said he wanted to make it that day, so I ordered the seafood soup and the chicken shawarma. Everything was fresh, warm, and delicious. This was a new spot and we couldn't wait to try it. There's variety of dishes on the menu but we tried the mixed grill for 2 because it came with a salad, hummus, pita and an assortment of grilled meats to try. This was an excellent choice as it gave us a good sense of what's on the meny and what to order when we come next. Loved the Tabuleah salad to begin with. The hummus was delicious as well. The pita came hot but we didn't eat it fast enough and it became quite hard. It seems they air fry this to order and if you don't consume it fast- it turns to rock! The mixed grill meat had chicken, shrimp, kebab and beef. The kebab was the best- followed by shrimp and beef and chicken. The assortment of meat came on a bed of rice. I hoped the rice would have soaked the juices of the grilled meat but It was dry for the most part and lacked flavor. All in all, service was great and I would think this place is a nice addition to Middleton's Mediterranean food scene. I would go again to try a few more dishes on the menu. read more
