Still haven't improved the service at this location. It's literally only this location that is sub par. Ordered on app, not ready when I arrived, waited 13 minutes then when I asked the status, they didn't have my order in the system. It was apparently canceled and I had to wait longer while they scrambled to make it. The least he could've done was throw in some stale chips. BTW, no other Chipotle I've been to gives out stale chips. Also, the bowls were definitely lighter than they used to be and one of our bowls was definitely lacking the lettuce and sour cream. No Stars - Rude Went to pick up the order, the bag was already on the pick up shelf. Took a quick peek while I was still at the pick up area, chips missing (not the 1st time). I walked over to the counter and told the associate. He completely ignored me. I asked again and said, excuse me, the chips are missing and I showed him the receipt. He said, wait. He continued to finished an order, and then started another new order. I waited till he finished and again politely asked, excuse me, I am missing chips. The 2nd associate replied for him, WAIT. I waited a few more minutes and said, I am only missing a bag of chips, I've been politely standing here waiting. The 2nd associate said, the chips are cooking. There were at least 5 bags of chips on the counter. If the chips are cooking and not ready, why put my order on the ready pick up shelf? I just left the restaurant, and left the bag of food on the counter. This is the rudest Chipotle I have been to. Not my first bad experience with this restaurant, but will be my last time visiting this rude DUMP! read more

So this chipotle use to be awesome, it has really gone down hill in the last year. I waited in line and when it was finally my turn, the woman went to go do something else and diddnt even say anything to me. She could of told me sir I'll be right back. But no. Tonight I ordered a bowl, I asked for extra rice and the guy serving me looked at me like I was an as**hole. I do not order it with beans, but every other topping they were so light with the hand. Then I asked for chips and they were out and currently making more, it would be 20 minutes. I decided not to wait. Then they were out of forks. They need more people working here on a Friday night. Do not go to this establishment if it is after 8:45 pm. I had a very bad experience at this establishment when I ordered (7/18/19) at 8:50 pm via the Chipotle app. The order was paid for and promised 9:15 pm. I got there early 9:00, as I forgot to order an item. (Business hours were posted to 10:00pm on that day). There were about four workers in the back cleaning up and the person who took my new order, found the preorder receipt and started to make my first order. She indicated there was no more brown rice, no more veggies, no more pico, etc. -this shocked me: the paid order from 8:50pm was for a chicken burrito with extra veggies, brown rice, and pico. (Chicken and the wrap were the only items they had ready at 9). Shouldn't they have replenished or cooked it if it was already ordered and paid for -with about an hour before closing?!?!? What were they going to do if I came I at 9:15 for my order? Lie and say they just ran out? When I explained to the worker that this is not what I paid for, the worker initially stared blankly at me and didn't offer to have it made/ cooked. Then, I asked for my money back as they could not produce my order. Another worker spoke to me and said to call customer service. When I asked for the number, he said he didn't have it. I asked to speak the the manager and that worker said that the manager was not available. When I said that I was not leaving until I had a contact, I the worker said to me to look the customer service number up on my phone. In my opinion, this experience and service was sub par & horrible; one of the worst I have had in this area. When pressed, the worker gave me the name of a manager (Javane). I called the following day and another manager addressed my concern and shared that she would share this to the other manager and talk to the employees from 7/18/19. She also followed up to help me get my money reimbursed (Though when credited back, I lost a free guacamole and chips promo from the app). I was relieved that I was able to get my money back, but still think the management and or cooperation should have done something more to address my poor experience at this establishment. Do not go to this establishment after 8pm, as it is apparent that the employees shut down early and push customers out (or to order the remaining food without replenishing); supervision, training, and management is severely lacking in the evening hours. read more

I was at the chipotle in New Providence on Friday April 22. The place was awful!. The floor looked like it had not been swept in weeks. There were no napkins, no ice in the machine, no straws- and in the bathroom no toilet paper or towels. My friend paid in cash. I go to this chipotle a lot, and have loved every experience. this time I had ordered through the app. The order wasnt ready and i waited about 20 more minutes. Whatever not a huge deal but upon returning back to work I open my meal to realize that everything that was written on the lid was absolutely wrong. It didnt even have chicken, and the amount of rice was laughable (i even asked for extra). it was a bowl of fajitas and salsa. I placed a $15 bowl order to be picked up at around 4:20 pm at chipotle today. Even though my order was made past the scheduled time, that did not bother me. The reason as to why I am leaving this review today is because my entire order was made incorrect. The extra guacamole and toppings (which cost extra as well) we're not in my bowl. This upsets me as a working college student. I was looking forward to eating this bowl after a hard day of school work, only to be left disappointed with the result. I love Chipotle but this is the worst franchise location I've ever been to. Even when it's not busy, the line moves at a glacial pace and the assembly line employees are miserable and surly. And to add to the sub par customer service, they consistently dole out meager portion sizes. I had to ask for more RICE because the girl filled the bowl up with less than half a scoop. And that was followed by 6 tiny cubes of chicken. Definitely would recommend finding another chipotle location or a Qdoba instead. read more

Ordered food at 6:05 for a pickup at 6:15. Waited inside with at least 20 customers and no one was checking capacity. Food was finally ready by 7:15, an hour late. Opened my bag at home to find someone else's order so I called and spoke to the manager. Ismael redid my order but I had to drive back and pick it up. I was surprised he did not provide me with a comp either. I will definitely drive to a different location that has better customer service and are enforcing covid regulations. I come here often, often enough to recognize the workers. Usually, they're around 20 minutes late, which okay, fine, that's good for them at least. But recently (before the pandemic) they were taking around 40 minutes to an hour after the time they promised to give it to me. This one girl said that it wasn't a big deal, but to a hungry person just wanting food, it is. The food is good, the cleanliness is good- but they need better service. I never want to come off rude, but since they've been open for a long time now, the workers should know that hungry people want their food now, lol. Overall, good place, bad service. read more

It's a chipotle just like all the other ones. If you like chipotle, you'll like this chipotle. Yes, it isn't as busy as others, but I consider that good when I don't have to wait in line. I eat here regularly and while they did get off to a slow start when they first opened I view them the same as the others in the area. Occasionally you get the guy that skimps on portions (I know who you are, knock it off, you aren't getting a bonus for skimping). If you get him, just ask for a little more, typically they'll give it. Complain if you feel cheated. They accommodate. Ordered online, Thought it would be quicker. I could go in and out in just a couple of seconds. I was late to pick up the order, so I expected it to be ready. However, when I told them I ordered online, they didn't even start making it. Which then I had to wait even longer. After about 10 minutes, my three burritos were finally ready to take home. Then, as I took my first bite, I discovered: my order was completely wrong. It was a disaster. I do not suggest ordering online. They always mess up my order. Me and my friend waiting at the front of the line for 30-40 minutes waiting for them to make rice because they were out, ONLY for them to give us hard undercooked rice. It was was hard, disturbing, and blatant to eat. I usually like chipotle but we did not bike there in the cold and wait 40 minutes for hard undercooked rice. One miserable star. I've been a regular at Chipotle since I lived in Secaucus and went there at least once a week. The portions at that location was generous and the service was fast and courteous. There was always a line there but it went quickly. They operated like a machine there. I was glad to see there was one in town when I moved to New Providence last month. Not so happy with this location though after going there 4-5 times. The portions they serve are small whether it is a burrito or a bowl. Even the quesadilla I get for my son is skimpy with meat and cheese. A minor gripe I also have is they have like only 1-2 bottles of the Chipotle Tabasco sauce on hand. If I eat there I keep one with me and put some on n every bite of my burrito. Plus side...the place is super clean and I haven't had any issues with the workers. read more

My main complaint with this location is the time it takes to actually order and get your order. I get the personal experience of picking what you want from the fresh ingredients, it really slows down the line. It's Chipotle, you've probably had a burrito or bowl from a Chipotle before, so there are no huge surprises here. Some of the employee's hands are a little light, some are a little heavy. Sometimes your burrito is like a swaddled little baby and sometimes it's like eating a non-fried taquito. Most employees seem very nice and friendly. This particular location is almost always empty. Going in at 1:30 or 6:30 usually guarantees there is at most 4 orders ahead of you. If you are unfortunate enough to go there when it's actually busy (closer to noon), then be prepared to be waiting a while. As other reviews mention, the line can move at a glacial pace. Sometimes this is a result of slow employees or having to stop the line to get a new tortilla because someone didn't drain the beans and mild salsa so all the water/liquid caused the burrito to break. Other times it's because there is a person with 4 kids who have never been to Chipotle trying to figure out how to order or someone is doing a lunch run for 10 burritos and didn't have the common decency to order ahead of time on the app. With that said, my burritos and bowls always came out how I ordered them, whether in person or on the app. Yes, sometimes it's a little disappointing because you paid extra for guac and got a tablespoon's worth, but I have never had to "send something back" or throw something out because it tasted bad. Also I haven't gotten E. Coli yet, so that's great. read more

The staff can use some BASIC customer service training--things like hello, sorry for the wait, how can I help you, and thank you at the end of the transaction go a long way. The staff frequently ignores mobile orders or doesn't put the mobile orders out by the pick up area when they are ready. I had to wait in line to get my mobile order when it had been ready for 15 minutes. This wasn't the first time. This location would benefit from new management and basic training. read more

My local favorite! I've been visiting the New Providence Chipotle for years and I don't recall ever being disappointed. I'm probably there 2-4 times a month. The staff are always friendly, food always delicious, warm and fresh. It's clean. At peak times it can get busy but I've learned to order online or through the app and I never have a wait. I have been here three times and each time something has happened that makes me not want to go back. The first time I went they had just opened and all of the food was cold; my burrito was a cold soggy blob. The last two times I went and they were out of steak and said I would need to wait a few mins. Fine. I've worked in the food industry since I was fourteen years old, I understand that sometimes you order something at the wrong time. When looking back in the kitchen you clearly could see they were not even grilling the steak yet. The manager would peer over to see the front as she was running around prepping other things but did not take ten seconds to come up to the five or six people including myself waiting and apologize for the delay. This particular chipotle is poorly run. Save your money and go to the chipotle in Madison or Westfield which have never disappointed me. read more

I'm a huge Chipotle fan and was super pumped to find out this one was opening about 15 minutes away from where I live. I think Chipotle is head and shoulders above the other burrito chains. In fact, I don't even think it's close. Chipotle is that much better than all of its competitors. I was also excited because I don't think this one will get as busy as the Bridgewater location. That location has a line out the door and you're looking at a 20 minute wait just to order each time. My wife and I took a ride down here and it's at the end of the strip mall. There's no convenient place to park which is a little annoying (you'll see what I mean when you go). I was a little surprised as this Chipotle is much smaller than I thought it was going to be. It's not big at all. Almost all of the tables were occupied when we went so we decided to order our food to go. The line wasn't that long and they did a pretty good job of keeping it moving. I went with a chicken burrito bowl which is becoming my go to Chipotle order. I'm not the biggest fan of the huge premium you pay for guacamole but what are you going to do? I also like getting a side of chips. The only knock I have on Chipotle is that I feel like they nickel and dime you a bit for the guac and chips. Oh well. However, the food was awesome. It was on point and I'm so happy this place opened. We will definitely be working it into our rotation. read more

I went in last night around 7, I have been many times before. The service always varies. When I got there about 4 people were ahead of me. They all ordered and were served in a timely manner. When I got to the front the girl behind the counter told me "one moment" and proceeded to start making an online order (looked like her first time). After making 9 tacos at a snail's pace and not addressing me at all I noticed the line behind me has grown well over 10 people long. I finally had to remind her there was a line and she then made my order, without apology scrapping the bottom for ingredients. In an area with two other Chipotle locations within a 15 minute driving radius, this place is not worth visiting if you have a car. I'd never been to a bad Chipotle before this one, but now I know they exist. Went here when it first opened, excited to have a closer restaurant, and was disappointed. Came back for a second try this week. The location did not redeem itself. The servers were cranky (to the point where I felt sorry for them. What is going on, guys?), the portions were smaller than usual, and the chips were stale (and about half as many as we get at other locations in the area.) Our family has had chipotle several times in basking ridge. We were hoping that new providence chipotle would be just as good. It isn't. We have tried it several times and every time we are disappointed. Tonight it was the worst ever. After paying $36 for 3 half filled bowls with 5 bites of chicken, we are very unhappy. I am never one to write a bad review but there has been a consistent downward spiral in food quality while prices continue to increase. We will not go back and it is very sad. Yuck! read more

This is one of those instances where I wish giving ZERO stars was an option. I've given this location way too many chances but I have reached the point that I know I will NEVER visit here again. I placed an online order and and after 40 minutes of waiting I still ended up walking away with nothing. The most ridiculous part is that there were times people were walking in ordering in person and leaving meanwhile the seating area was FULL of people standing around waiting for their online orders. At times there was legitimately no one in line to order in person. You would think then they'd make fulfilling the online orders a priority but NOPE. I tried asking if my order could be made on the main bar but NOPE. It also seemed like the TWO people working on the online orders were moving super slow, and it felt very intentional. I eventually asked to just cancel my order because even if I'd gotten it at that point I didn't have enough time to eat it because I had to get back to work. Two different staff members told me that I would have to cancel it on the app. I saw no such option on the app and when I asked to be directed on how to do that, finally a third staff member admitted that its not an option on the app and she offered to give me a refund on the register. This is not my first, second, or third instance of dealing with them running significantly behind and I'm pretty patient especially nowadays with a lot of places being short staffed, but this boils down to horrible staff and mismanagement. read more

My food was cold (even though I picked it up on time), the order was wrong (they forgot the veggies on my veggie tacos) and the foil was packed so tight that the tacos were all mashed together when I opened it, looked like a pile of dog food. I called the store to ask for a refund. The manager was very unprofessional, didn't care about the problem at all and wouldn't give me a refund. Out of all chipolets I've ever been to this one BY FAR has the stingiest portions and rudest staff not to mention every employee gives you different size portions (training for the staff is needed).
