Oyako bowl with some food from a ramen bowl
    Nathan S.

I am not sure why there isn't a flood of people going to this hidden gem every day. Their pork buns are so incredibly yummy! We tried about 5-6 places within 45 min, and these are hands down the best. For us having less fat & more pork is a big deal. The sauce is so sweet & delicious! We like the ramen bowls so much. I also LOVE the Oyako rice bowls - I think they make it with a piece of heaven & it is blessed by an angel. As if that isn't enough, their wide assortment of bubble teas is good for a restaurant (as opposed to a bubble tea store). Their Thai ice tea is my fav, but my kids get all different kinds & with boba or lychee. They folks who work here seem to love & enjoy what they do. They are pragmatic & don't expect extremely doting waiters or anything. Do yourself a favor & enjoy this piece of relaxing delicious heaven.

I decide to go there because I was around the area.. this is a cute little place in a corner away from the center of town.. At first I was worried about parking, but they do have a little parking lot at the back of the building.. the store is not big, so probably can't do big parties.. but it's clean and neat, and the lady behind the desk is very courteous.. food came out very quickly, I wonder if it's because I was there right at 12, because they do get busier as the time passed! And the food is yummy!! I would want my noodle to be a little more "salty", but that's just for me.. katsu was crunchy, but next time I would ask for put the sauce in the side (just my preference) and the Thai ice tea is ok.. I guess because I have had really good one before and my expectation is way too way.. it's good, but not what I expected.. overall it's a good meal!! Would go back and try other items on the menu for sure!!

Ordered a delivery during a work week with very low expectations, as my Ramen standards are way high especially after having Ramen in Ippudo NYC, and other happening Ramen places in NJ. I went with recommendations from fellow yelpers and was pleasantly surprised with what I got. A chili lime ramen that I shared as well as Tako yaki a savory deep fried yummy appetizers a must have. I would really want to order more, rather visit the restaurant soon. The order came neatly packed and the broth was separate from the ramen bowl. I'm really liking the ramen scene in NJ.

We came here for a late lunch. It's a simple restaurant with awesome food! The server doesn't hover and the food and drinks came out quick. The takoyaki was delicious and the rice bowl we got was big enough to share (unless you're really hungry then don't lol) Highly recommend if you're in the area.

Located in the corner of the street with a mini parking lot. The place is small but has a home like atmosphere. I should've ordered the ramen, but got the tonkatsu rice instead. Well worth it for its price since there were two cutlets and an egg. However, I feel that there could be improvement in the curry sauce since it was a little diluted.

Kawa Ramen is a tiny, bare bones mom & pop ramen shop on South St. in New Providence, down the street from Barth's Market, where I've been buying most of my meat for years. I'm all for supporting small, struggling local businesses (if they are good). Kawa has an appealing menu of ramen, donburi bowls, teriyakis, and Japanese curries. I had the "Queen" ramen: pork tonkatsu broth with shoyu, roasted leek and garlic oil, tender sliced roast pork, bamboo shoots, kikurage mushrooms, narutomaki, scallions, and roasted egg ($14.95). It was delicious and satisfying. I would order this again, but also really want to try their other dishes, so I will be coming back here soon.

Great Ramen! Wonderful flavors and really nice people. A great way to spend a snowy night!

Passionfruit green tea with lychee jelly

This was a great find! I found this place on yelp, and I'm really glad I went! I had the tonkatsu ramen with a side of kimchi, and a passionfruit green tea with lychee jelly. The tea, ramen, and kimchi were really good! It wasn't super salty, like other ramen places. This food tastes homemade and unique. The service was good, the waitress was attentive and my food came out really quickly. I went during lunch and it wasn't super busy. I would definitely come back!

There aren't too many ramen places in this area so this is a good spot for some vegan ramen. I'm not usually a fan of fried tofu but it was delicious in this ramen, like little tofu pillows. The scallions, mushrooms, noodles, etc were all great but I really needed some more spice. I took my order to go and wish I had asked for something on the side. My husband and I did add sriracha at home which helped elevate the flavor a little bit.

Came back for the rest of their ramen on offer. Don't sleep on their kimchee beef ramen. It's not traditional at all but might be their most delicious. *I don't recommend ordering this if you can't handle Korean spice levels but if you can handle that kind of heat, it's pretty good. We might like it more than the queen and the queen is also very good. So glad it's near us!

Other issue - the main one- is their prices are astronomical for a hole in the wall joint in Morristown. As high as any of the Manhattan glam spots, i.e. Soho, Madison Ave, Columbus Circle, etc. Where else do you pay $13 for a salmon roll? 90% of places charge around $7-8 per, so you're looking at a very steep bill. Again, the fish is great but be prepared to spend hi end prices for a hole in the wall joint.

This was a very pleasant surprise and has the potential to be a regular spot going forward. I came here with my chum last Saturday night for dinner. I'm not that familiar with the downtown Madison area but it was very easy to locate street parking within a block of the entrance. Interestingly, this building obviously housed a ye olde bank back in the day, but once inside, there was nothing left in the interior to suggest that past - a little disappointing they weren't able to preserve some of that history but I obviously know nothing about the back story there so grain of salt. In what ended up being a tremendous miscalculation, we ended up ordering four signature rolls to split and didn't come close to finishing them - we likely left close to half of the pieces on the plate (don't worry, they found a new home and became a secondary meal later on), which is definitely not a ding on them. Despite having hundreds of rolls in my life, calculating how quickly they'll fill me up remains a tedious work in progress. Anyway. Hopefully I remember all of these, but I believe the four rolls were the Bronx Bomber, Roe Roe Roe Your Boat (couldn't figure out if this one was a subtle political statement or not but I doubt it), Luck of the Irish and Paradise Cove. The Bronx Bomber was our favorite, and for me probably an all-time top three or so, which is saying something. It's deep fried, which I'm usually ambivalent about (sometimes by definition it's too heavy for me and takes away from the other flavors in the roll), and I was a little leery initially about the cilantro which I don't think I've encountered before in this world. Delicious and not overly fried. I brought it home thinking, oh, I can easily eat this tomorrow for lunch, and then I accidentally ate it all an hour later. Huge recommend. The other one I really loved was Paradise Cove, which had a ton of interesting vibes going on there - the diced salmon sounded a little odd but didn't end up being different from just normal salmon (I think I assumed it would be seared or something, which it definitely wasn't). There's multiple mayos, multiple fish and it's just very unique; that type of combo with so many ingredients risks being overwhelming and it was a perfect balance. The Luck of the Irish was just okay for me; my chum advocated for that one I think in honor of a certain recent holiday, and it includes cucumber, which is my least favorite sushi ingredient. Easy to get out (and I did push the pieces out before eating) but it a little bland. The Roe was my least favorite, and that was just a personal palate issue - for me, there was too much fish roe (I think I just figured out why it's called Roe Roe Roe Your Boat) on top which made it extra salty. But that's on me. Everything was fresh and plentiful, and that to me is the ultimate standard. It's rare that I'm over the moon about service when it took over half an hour to get the rolls - sushi places overall tend to have a quick turnaround time by definition, but Blue Wazabi was SLAMMED with to-go orders while we were there (the entire time, there were multiple customers waiting for their pickups). And also to be fair, we did not get mundane, normal rolls. While we waited, the staff literally filled up my water glass five times (I'd been hiking earlier in the day and was still trying to catch up) and never let the level get below 25%. I actually started paying attention to that, and I'm honestly not sure if I've ever been somewhere where they were that vigilant about it, especially given that they were very busy. Huge points though - if you don't have the ability to get the rolls over in a few minutes, intense hydration is a pleasant plan B. I might just fill up on Bronx Bombers next time, which as a Mets fan makes me a little uncomfortable but it is what it is.

While it's not quite on the level of New York City's omakase spots, it's solid for New Jersey and worth a visit if you're in the area. Standout bites for me were the Otoro and Chu Toro- both beautifully fatty and flavorful - as well as the Hamachi with shishito and the scallop topped with crispy garlic. Other highlights included the Madai (seabream), barracuda, striped jack, and a satisfying bone marrow served with toast. I also tried Kumamoto oysters for the first time in years, and they were a lovely surprise-cleaned properly, topped with a light sauce, and incredibly fresh. The Hokkaido uni was creamy, though slightly more briny and bitter than I personally prefer. Mr. Bin himself mentioned that uni flavor can vary depending on the season. Throughout the meal, Mr. Bin was present and helpful, guiding us toward which fish to try. The fish is delivered fresh twice a week, and the quality really does show. That said, it's still missing that little extra something that sets top-tier omakase apart- the purposeful dot of yuzu sauce, the hidden dab of wasabi under the fish, or a crisp garnish that adds dimension and surprise. Some sushi have this, some don't. The technique is good, the fish is fresh, and the experience was enjoyable- I'd return- but it's a notch below the more elevated experiences you can find in the city. Hence 4 stars. Solid though, and friendly. Nice ambiance inside too, Saturday dinner time it filled up quickly so I recommend a reservation.

The Signature Lu Fen was flavorful, comforting, and satisfying--I would happily order it again and would love to try another rice noodle dish on a future visit. The Spicy Fried Pork Intestines, however, were disappointing. They were extremely dry, almost as if they had been refried, and the dish contained far more dried red peppers than actual pork intestines. The balance was off, and I wouldn't order it again. The fried rice was a solid choice, and the other dishes we ordered were enjoyable. We finished the meal with the Sweet Tofu Soup, which is essentially warm douhua served with lightly sweetened syrup.
