Over the summer, I had such a terrible meal at a local Chipotle (which will remain unnamed) that I swore I would boycott this chain forever. Well, forever is a long time. Wouldn't you know, I was having lunch with a friend who just happens to be a huge fan of the Chipotle on Troy Road?! I'd never been there before. This particular branch was much cleaner than the one from last summer. The food was much fresher. It was also busy at 1pm. There were customers of all ages but many appeared to be young. Gen Z, perhaps. When we walked in, there was a group of 5 or 6 people standing to the side of the counter. I thought they were customers waiting for their orders. I thought it was sheer coincidence that they were all dressed in black. No. The man taking my order leaned over the counter and whispered to me, they were bosses. The group immediately disappeared into the kitchen. If the staff was nervous about the visit from higher ups, they didn't show it. This was an efficient team. They got my order right. No cheese please. And please, don't give me too much rice. They topped off my Chicken Al Pastor bowl with lettuce and while it might not have looked so inviting it was actually quite tasty and healthy. I would be willing to come back for a meal at this location but truly not all restaurant chains are alike. I'll continue to tread carefully. This one restored some of my faith in fast food. read more

This has to be one of the single most frustrating food service experiences I have ever had in my life. Being from the foodservice industry myself, I get it. I totally get it. People are rude, the job is always demanding, things always go wrong, and it's just harder than most people think. However, you guys weren't even fucking open on time. I mean, that is entirely in your control. You post - ON YOUR DOOR - that you open at 10:45am. We showed up at 11:20am only to be rudely greeted by some shmuck who was listening to music and couldn't care less that we wanted to pay him money to eat at their restaurant. Came back 10 minutes later, at 11:30am (WITH TEN OTHER CUSTOMERS) and were all greeted by the whole staff saying they wouldn't be open for another 30 minutes. THIRTY MINUTES. Some fast math for those of you curious puts this at a 12:00pm open, 75 minutes LATER than they POST ON THEIR DOOR that they open. Pathetic. There is actually no excuse for this. It's simply effort. I don't know what is up with this location but their online ordering is terrible. We often have to wait at least 20-30 minutes beyond the time selected and there are always a line of other people waiting as well. The workers do not seem to care or act like they are even trying to hurry to catch up on orders. Just terrible. This location used to be good - I'd go here twice or more per week since it's cheap and I live close. But over the last several months, it's completely and very obviously fallen off a cliff. Management is asleep at the wheel, or even nonexistent at this location. And don't just take it from me, either! Look at all of the similar recent reviews here and on Google. The restaurant (especially during busier times, lunch and dinner) tends to get absolutely filthy - overflowing trash cans, garbage on the tables, sloppy drink station and so on. They used to have trash cans outside but I'm pretty sure they just got rid of them so they wouldn't have to empty them anymore. Online ordering: don't bother. Before I stopped coming here altogether, I stopped doing online orders because they were NEVER correct - and the quality was always way worse than if you ordered in person. Crunchy rice, undercooked proteins (steak especially - I've had orders where it was bordering on rare, which is fine for me from a high quality restaurant but definitely not a Chipotle) - old/gross looking veggies, and so on. Portion sizes were also minuscule for online orders, and 75% of the time, your order would be missing something, or would just be completely wrong. If you wait in line and order in person, the quality of the food tends to be better (usually) but for some reason, this location consistently serves undercooked and crunchy rice. The staff has always been pleasant, so that's not a problem. But they usually only have one person working the line - even during rushes - which makes no sense! If the line is long or you're behind someone ordering a lot of items, be prepared to wait a ridiculous amount of time. Overall: don't bother. Drive another 10-15 minutes down Route 4 and go to Bubbakoo's instead if you want your fast casual Mexican fix. It's a million times better. read more

It's usually really busy when we come so we decided to do a mobile order. Upon arrival it was slow so we decided we would sit down and eat. There were no clean tables; all of them had food on them and many of them had trash. There was trash and food all over the floors. And all 5 trash cans were overflowing. On top of the appearance of the restaurant, when we opened up our bowls they were skimped out. They weren't even 1/2 full of food when normally the bowls are overflowing. No customers came in for 20minutes and the staff were just sitting there talking or on their phones when they could've been cleaning. If it wasn't for the taste of the food, I probably would not come back based off of this experience alone. read more

Not the best location to order from. I placed a web based order and arrived a few minutes early. After several minutes after the pickup time I was told they'll start my order soon. Then they began helping those who walked in pushing my order to the back burner. When pieces of my order were ready they remained on the counter while the cashier chatted with the coworkers who were leaving at the soda machine. Almost a half hour for fast food. Just wanted to share that my past three visits to your chipotle in North Greenbush has been nothing short of disappointing. Every time we come, they're out of peppers and onions or salad or salad dressing. Every single time we've come in the past two months they have not had peppers or onions. I understand this is a labor-intensive ingredient, but it shouldn't be on the menu if it isn't available. Again this is not been an isolated incident. The staff is unapologetic about it and just shrug their shoulders. I'm not sure why this is an issue but it's annoying at best. Go somewhere else to eat. read more

Im currently 4/4 for visits at Chipotle in East Greenbush not having any veggies (peppers/onions) and their dressing for my chicken bowl. The food service here keeps getting worse and worse. I dont know how management continues to let this happen when people are paying for those items in their meal but not getting a discount everytime they dont have the items. Mexican coke I was able to order online was out when I arrived 15 minutes later. They resold my order! And finally both orders (chicken and barbacoa) were double salty. We ordered two meals both with Steak.Omg it was so spicy you couldn't eat the meals I have never had anything so spicy. The service was good but when we got our food home it was very disappointing. Love Chipotle but this location keeps missing the mark. Out of the 10 or so times I've ordered this year, 6-8 orders were not satisfactory. Sometimes its stale tasting chips, others its bland guac with no salt or chicken with too much. Sometimes its the wrong toppings, or missing all of the toppings which happened once. In this case I did call the store since I only got rice with chicken on my bowl and all of the toppings I ordered were missing. The manager was kind enough to offer me a refund on a gift card and said it would be mailed. It never was. (This was a few months ago.) Since then I stopped going to this location. I tried to put in my order yesterday through mobile pickup which is the most convenient for me but the app said they weren't accepting online orders, which has happened before. This is the only location around that fails to be dependable often, and that's sad because its probably the healthiest fast food option locally. So I will keep driving across the river to Wolf Rd. or Stuyvesant since they are consistent. read more

Went to chipotle today for dinner, and didn't realize that they weren't taking orders at the counter. This was not an issue as I went back into my car and placed my order with the closest pick up time at 5:50 (15 min wait). Once it hit 5:50, I walked inside and there were still 6 people waiting in the small hallway. My order was not on the shelf, so I proceeded to wait. One customer got their food, and came back a few minutes later saying that she got one bowl instead of two. They proceeded to make her second bowl and gave her a gift card for the mistake. As orders were getting picked up, there were still two customers waiting from before and have had been waiting for awhile as their orders were for a 5:30 pickup. There then proceeded to tell me that they didn't have my protein and asked if I would rather something else. I eventually got my food at 6:10, 20 minutes after my pickup time. Unfortunately, when my drive home is less than 10 minutes, I would expect my food to still be at least somewhat warm. This was not the case as my whole bowl was cold, including meat and rice, and my chips were stale. I'm not sure if they were short staffed today to explain the backlog of orders, but some of the workers were apologizing as they were bringing food out. I did message chipotle "Pepper", to which I received a BOGO offer, but unknown whether I will be going back to this location to redeem it. read more

I am increasingly impressed at this Chipotle location, especially for being a newer location you would think that it would have some quirks. I've never had a bad experience here.
