As you may be able to tell from my check-ins, I love Chipotle. It took me a few tries to find the combination that I love, but now I usually get the same thing: rice, black beans, carnitas, mild salsa + green salsa, and lettuce (burrito bowl). I have never missed the tortilla once I started leaving it off, so now I do just to save calories. The carnitas has great flavor, and usually isn't too fatty. If they shredded their chicken I'd probably get that more often, I like my shredded meats! The customer service is great at all of the locations I've tried - northgate is handy because of the easy parking...I've also found it to be the cleanest and tidiest. All of the salsas are good, the chips are best when hot (one time they were stale and they gave me a card for a free burrito when I complained). Quite a few easily wheelchair accessible tables, as well as space at the window bar seating (lower height). I love details like this! The music generally is great here as well! :) I don't care whether it's "authentic" mexican food - I love the fresh salsa flavors, and the fact that I can eat a big bowl of food and not feel like I've gorged myself. If you skip the dairy (sour cream & cheese), as well as the tortilla, it's not the calorie bomb it could be. read more

As far as Chipotles go, this location is great. It's always busy with a long line but the line moves fast. Food is consistent. Employees are friendly. I never have trouble finding a seat. There is both inside and outside seating. Love it! read more

What a very pleasant experience. I was doing a little Christmas shopping at Northgate when hunger pangs began to make themselves known. I usually only eat mall food in times of emergency and was ready to finish shopping before scampering off to search for a decent meal. While checking out at JCPenny's I was told that because I had sent more than $20 I could get a complementary entree from Chipotle. Score. So I take the short walk across the breezeway to this little Mexican styled walk-up. After surveying my choices I opted for a steak burrito and was informed this was their spiciest meat. Excellent. Then after a few other topping choices I was handed my silver tube of joy. The steak was tasty and was complemented with fresh cilantro and jalapeno. I added a Negro Modelo and was out just over $4 While I would not rank Chipotle's burrito with the better Mexican places in town for mall fast food it was pretty darn good. read more

My baby likes Chipotle. I like Chihpotle. I don't know why, but a lot of Asians (Southeast Asians excluded) can't deal with Cilantro. Even though I call it Coriander they seem to know that it's Cilantro... That said when we go out to eat, Mexican food is never an option and having lived in California I usually make do with the slop they call Mexican food up here in Seattle. So when I was deprived of even that, imagine my surprise when she wanted to try the place next to the sushi buffet place at Northgate mall?! It's hard not to like this place really. I hear you Michelle about the whole chain stigmata, but Chipotle and the people behind the chain are doing it right. I mean it's all so freaking cheap too! Not only is it cheap it tastes really good. If what they advertise can be believed, they only use organic meats?! I usually get the burrito and it's huge. Filled with fluffy white rice with coriander mixed into it, black beans or pinto beans (I swear to god the first time I ate here they offered refried beans??), your choice of meat: Chicken, steak, braised pork, (No tongue??)and something else. Also cheese, lettuce, sour cream, guac and the salsas...ah the salsas! The corn salsa is fantastic, I usually get the corn salsa with the tomato salsa and use the chipotle tobasco to finish it off. The most unique aspect of Chipotle is their pricing structure. Burrito's, burrito bowls, fajitas, or salads all don't matter. They charge you by what meat you order. So the Steak burrito would be the same price as the Steak salad, etc.. Genius! Also this is by far the best Chipotle in the area. The UW one is always packed and run by snot nosed college kids who would rather be in their dorm rooms. Avoid like the plauge. The Kent station one is rather good as well. I had an unbelievably horrible experience here this past weekend. I waited in like for 40 MINUTES!!! The service was HORRENDOUS!! Once getting to the front of the line, I saw them do something wrong in every order and they were remaking things left and right which is clearly why it was taking them forever. In my order I asked for my tacos for here, they put them on the aluminum foil. The next person was like, oh no it needs to be on the larger foil, and went and got larger foil. Then the next person was like, oh this is for here? It doesn't belong on foil, and moved them again. I mean it was just so unnecessary and added so much time to the ordering process. The seating never had more than 4-5 tables full because their slowness of service made it impossible to actually build up customers within the restaurant. I will never, ever, return to this chipotle. It was maddeningly slow - I couldn't fathom how it was taking so long as they seemed completely staffed. Everyone in line was annoyed along with me. read more

It's so rare for a chain restaurant to source high quality ingredients. Of course this makes for a costlier meal but I'm a fan of Chipotle's choice to avoid using meat that has been grown with antibiotics. The company website has a good summary of the facts about their food. My favorite item is the carnitas burrito with the lime cilantro rice, and the fresh salsas. The burritos are so delicious!!!!! Big and hearty and you will leave this place with a full happy stomach. But as they said in South Park make sure you have your supply of Chipotleway. Lol The one thing I love the most about this place is being able to put whatever I want in my burrito. I really enjoy the chicken or the steak burrito fajtita style with grilled peppers and onions. It is very very very good. My wife really enjoyed the pork burrito. The food is pretty well priced and they also have a good little menu for kids, which is great when I bring my daughter. I was so busy all day running errands in the Northgate area yesterday (Saturday), and noticed Chipotle was still open at 9:35pm. Since I did not have many choices for a quick bite to go that late in the evening, I thought I'd get brave and give them a chance. As soon as my turn, I asked a million questions to a guy, who was assisting me, regarding the cleanliness and sanitation of their facility. He answered my EVERY question sincerely and genuinely with a smile. I was impressed with his patience and asked him for his name. His name is Column ( i hope i spelled his name correctly). Column also told me that this was not the location that had any food borne illness in the first place....good to know. The way Column handled a customer's concerns were better than some fine dining restaurant managers. I hardly write reviews on Yelp unless a business offers me an ama~zing service, so here you go N.gate Chipotle, 5 solid stars for Column! Oh btw, thanks for your patience to a gentleman behind me waiting for me to finish series of my questions :) God Bless! Forgot to mention about the burito i got. The staff were all very young (maybe around high school age) and very disorganized and unprofessional. They had messed up multiple orders ahead of me. The glass barrier was taller than the usual chipotle restaurants so it was harder to communicate from staff to patron. I ate at the restaurant and my food was cold. Not pleased. read more

I went here on one of their training days just before they opened, and they were giving out free burritos and drinks. Score! The burrito tasted about the same as other locations, though it was a bit too salty even for Chipotle near the end. Oh well, it was a training day after all. Such an awesome chipotle! the place was very spacious with plenty of window-side seats (i like ppl watching...sometimes). there were a bunch of people working behind the counter when i went, and they were all very friendly. the most important, and the signature for any chipotle, was the large portions. they're definitely not holding out on ya, the lady who made mine loaded a ton of chicken in my burrito! i think any restaurant that has you worrying about whether or not you can actually finish the amount of food is worth mentioning :D overall a great experience, and to top it all off, there was a bum-looking guy in the parking lot swinging his hands and screaming how he doesn't trust azns and cursing up a storm. i felt sorry for the kids who had to listen and watch his obscene behavior. i should've given him a penny [or two] to cool his wits read more

I have a love/hate relationship with this place. It's yummy and cheap and will fill you up for the WHOLE day. But it's also a 1000+ per burrito! I also like my burrito with lots of bad stuff too, so I add on the sour cream, cheese, corn, onions, and guacamole to by steak burrito. Omg, this stuff is so good! I have never written a review about Chipotle only because the service has been pretty decent so far until tonight. I typically make an online order and I placed it tonight around 8pm. It was supposed to be ready by 8:15pm and I got there at 8:20. My food was not ready. Usually, it is ready by the time I get there. Tonight something must have gone wrong. My food was only available by 8:45 PM! Why? So it looked quite busy but not so busy to the point of missing my order by 30 mins! I don't know how authentic the food is here. But it is damn good. Especially the carnitas fajita burrito. The carnitas meat is the slow cooked pulled pork. Very juicy,tender, and spiced perfectly. The burritos are gigantic. There are lots of options for veggies, rice, beans, various salsas, etc. Prices are very reasonable for the burritos. The tacos are small for the price, however. I find Chipotle about a 3.5 in comparison to other places to eat around Northgate Mall. It's a pretty healthy option, though not the fastest or cheapest. I like all the meats, though I wish they had a shredded chicken option. I haven't tried the tofu since they added it to the menu. I've come to prefer the bowls, because when I worked at the mall I used to get a burrito and take it back to my break room to eat it, but with the way they wrap the burritos, I would often get a bite of just one thing, like just meat or (worse) just sour cream or guacamole. With the bowl, I can more easily mix the ingredients together and take a bite with meat, rice, and lettuce. I often plan to get a veggie bowl so I can get free guacamole but end up being too tempted by the yummy smells of the meat. The lines here are often long. I most recently came on a Saturday, but a bit after the lunch peak (a little after 2 PM). The lines were almost to the back door of the restaurant the entire time I was there. I had to wait for a bit once I got to the front of the line because they were preparing a large take-out/catering burrito order. There was a small piece of foil in the bowl of salad lettuce. I pointed it out and the staff member removed it but someone might have accidentally eaten it. I had the bowl with white rice, chicken, black beans, hot salsa, sour cream, cheese, and lettuce. It had been a while since I was here, and I thought they used to ask if you wanted the fajita veggies (peppers and red onions), but they didn't ask and I didn't realize until I was almost at the end that they were back at the beginning by the rice. Since it was so busy there was no real way to go back so I just didn't get them, but I was kind of disappointed about that. The hot salsa is not actually very spicy, but there are bottles of Tabasco available if you want to add more spice. I often like the corn or fresh tomato salsas depending on what I'm in the mood for. I used to be completely stuffed if I finished a burrito (and I often couldn't) but I wasn't 100% full after eating my bowl. I think I will get brown rice next time. One thing I found odd was that in their garbage/recycling/compost guide they said to put the bowls in the garbage, despite them appearing to be paper. Perhaps there is some plastic in them? Wish they would make the shift to using fully compostable bowls and utensils. If small local businesses can do it, so can a large publicly traded corporation! read more

When I moved up to Seattle from California 3 years ago, I realized that in some ways, California is ahead of the curve. Luckily Seattle is not too far behind, because shortly after my move, a Chipotle popped up in Lynnwood. Shortly after that, a location opened in Northgate and I couldn't have been more pleased The food is always fresh, the service is usually great, and I appreciate the simplicity of the delivery. You basically have a choice of chicken, pork, shredded beef and steak which you can have the burristas (I just made that up!) load into a burrito, burrrito bowl, 3 tacos, or a salad. Black beans or pinto beans and a variety of salsas, guacamole and sour cream are all options. What sets this chain apart from other tex-mex places in my opinion is the consistency of quality and their commitment to providing organic or sustainable foods whenever possible. Maybe it's the rice, too, which is tossed with cilantro for a very unique, addictive experience. My standard lunch is a burrito bowl, light on the rice, black beans, chicken, tomato salsa and lots and lots of cheese. I grab a bag of chips, which are nicely salted and tangy, and go to town on my bowl chip by chip as if it were a large, heavenly dip. I average about 3-4 visits here a week. It's a couple of bucks more expensive than your average fast food lunch, but the satisfaction level is off the charts. Viva Chipotle! read more

This location is quite possibly the worst Chipotle I've ever been to. It is always crowded and the team members don't ever seem to have a flow going. They can't hear you and whenever I order the vegetarian sofritas they try to give me chicken - so frustrating! The line is always almost to the door and by the time I get my food to the table the pickings are slim for a clean spot. Most of the seating is right by the huge line of people who can see you scarfing down your lunch. Talk about awkward and uncomfortable. I guess I like it... I had never tried it before and to be honest I have been twice in the last week. This may be due to the fact that Chipotle rises above the other options I have in the mall for my "lunch" though. Yes, I could bring my lunch, but I would have to have food at my house to do that. It is what it is. Don't hate. Did I mention that they sell beer?...real Mexican beer! And have stools lining the window! Fun times... I have found the simplistic menu great for my eating style. One day I ordered a burrito from the first board, then picked the vegetarian option from the second, lastly picked two salsas (one corn and one salsa frescha) from the third board. The forth board in the sequence is reserved for add-ons. So so simple- this whole Chipotle ordering system. Easy as pie to customize to a bowl versus a tortilla or different meats in eat taco. Chipotle is the Subway of "Mexican" fast food. Flavored rice with cilantro in it, great looking black beans, 4+ salsas to choose from, fajita style peppers and onions, and great/ok meat quality. Plus- Bonus to them for using freshly prepared meat and cutting it up themselves just like a real restaurant. read more

Good food, hearty quality, and good price. I always get the bowl because I feel like I get much more food than in a burrito. I got half steak and half barbacoa bowl, with extra rice. The rice is so good!!! (Tried to make cilantro rice before. Although mine was good, Chipotle's is better). Today, I also asked for a tortilla on the side. It was good just by itself! So soft and warm :) There were times that I got stale chips from other Chipotle locations, but not this time. They were fresh and crispy. They were a little too salty, as usual. I like the location and as always the food (for tex mex) is really good. Staff was very friendly and the place seems to get packed pretty quickly. I love the food options and how you can eat healthy food as well as greasy.lol They meed to work on speed tho. They only had two people making food which when there is a line of 30 people is not good. The one kid kept taking orders and waiting for the other kid to finish it. Instead of taking orders; thsn helping him finosh the restbif them and then making more. Finally, third person came in and started helping them. Good place, location and food. Sure, maybe its not the most unique or authentic Mexican restaurant in the city, but this place is YUMMY. I found my favorite dish the first time I went: crispy chicken tacos with spicy salsa, cheese and lettuce. Ever since my taste buds experienced that first taco, I haven't had the heart to try anything else on the menu (except the chips). I usually drive out of my way when I have the Chipotle craving... However, the best thing about the Northgate location is that it is rarely busy. The several times I've been there I never had to wait in a line, compared to the Lynnwood and University branches. Those places are ALWAYS crowded. Anyways, Chipotle is a nice, quick, satisfying meal. You can be confident in the freshness of the food, since you can always see the kitchen and how it is made right in front of your eyes. And for those who are calorie conscious, Chipotle displays the calories for each item on their menu! Trust me, its worth driving out of your way for this! Everybody knows that the food is good but the weather was nice today so we sat outside. The view isn't great but to be able to sit outside, eat a taco, drink a BEER, (Yes, alcohol!) is for me a great time. The outside area faces west so it should be a nice place to hang out in the afternoon during the spring and summer. I am working on getting the manager to offer a Happy Hour during the summer. If it were legal to marry a burrito, I would already be married to a Chipotle burrito. I love the food here. I think the best feature, for me anyway, is the rice. I don't think I've ever had better rice. What I don't like about it is that it gets really busy. The line gets pretty backed up and parking get's a little tricky (at least for someone with little one's to hustle in from the busy parking lot). I don't get to come here often, because mostly we're into one stop shopping/eating etc, but from time to time, we make the exception and the journey. Another con is that you have to order your chips and salsa. Everything is an additional price. Kind of a bummer.. Aside from that, I gave it five stars for the excellent food and the great service. The restaurant is lovely and always pretty clean. To spite how busy it gets we've never not been able to find seating. I heart you burrito. read more
