i'm not going to talk about all the toppings individually, but the combination of all of them, placed on my burger at once, combined to make up an astounding Frankenstein-like experience that made each bite taste so fucking good The mayo covering the pickles, mushrooms, lettuce, onions, and peppers made gave every vegetable just the perfect soft, beautiful flavor As for the main part of the burger - the patties - wow. Despite being well-done, these somehow retained so much flavor. Having a double patty helps so much with making each bite of the burger feel like you're really getting mostly meat in (pause), but this can easily go wrong if the beef itself doesn't taste good. They absolutely nailed it in this case - I absolutely could not resist destroying this burger before I had to slow down and start eating the fries I also found the cheese incredibly good - it was just the perfect amount of melted - and there was so much on there - matched up perfectly with the amount of meat. This added an extra fantastic taste What surprised me was how damn good the buns were. The outside looks like your typical fast food bun - but the inside of each bun was surprisingly soft - I haven't seen buns like this before. It almost had the texture of cake. These were so good as well Moving onto the fries, these weren't as enjoyable as the burger, but still fantastic in their own right. Although each fry was a little softer than I would've preferred, the coating of cajun spice on the outside gave it a perfect seasoning, and the inside of each one was so perfectly soft. I really enjoyed these. The one thing I will deduct from the fries is the lack of a dipping sauce. They did provide ketchup, but I wasn't a huge fan of that since it was in packets. These would've been significantly elevated with some sauce you could order on the side There were a lot of fries in the bag - so at times it felt like the meal was more comprised of fries than the burger. Because one bite of the burger takes up more of the remaining burger than one fry does of the whole set of fries - even though the fries were really good - eating the fries did feel like more of a chore at a certain point I would prefer less fries in the 'Little' category The meal as a whole was expensive - around 21 dollars - but I think it was worth it read more

I love how Five Guys grills the dog fresh. The onions and mushrooms and toppings are made to order. It's a nice touch. I like the complimentary peanuts while I wait and I add the cajun fries as a side. I've written some nice reviews for 5 guys and I love the generosity of the hot dog meat and the length of the dog. It's not skimpy and it's also not a super long dog in which the dog sticks out of the bun like some other places. I travel for business, and have been to this location a few times. The staff is always friendly and courteous which is always a positive. On this particular occasion the burger was the wrong one for my to-go order. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger with specific toppings, but when I got back to my hotel it was just a bacon burger (no cheese) done "all the way". I don't like mushrooms so I had to pick them all off. Five Guys fries are bomb. I don't typically enjoy eating at chains when on vacation, but for Five Guys, I made the exception. I got my usual, the single patty cheeseburger with some of my favorite toppings - grilled veggies, tomato, lettuce, ketchup and mustard. Done and done. And of course I had to get an order of fries. Just like at every other Five Guys in the US, they filled my bag of fries to the brim (aka, past the confines of the small cup). Burger was cooked pretty well - juicy but a little over the temperature that I prefer. SIDENOTE: Five Guys isn't In-N-Out and it isn't What-a-Burger and it isn't Shake Shack. But it ranks up there as a major cult following burger contender. I know food is made to order, but it IS a little slow. We were in a rush to get to our movie showing next door (so convenient!) so we had to scarf down our food. Make sure to set aside around 30-45 minutes to ensure you can eat your food without getting indigestion afterward. Their beef is reportedly never frozen and they have fries cooked in peanut oil. They also have bins of free peanuts you can munch on while you wait for your burger to get done. The burgers themselves are decent. Thin patties with lot of toppings. The works has grilled onions, mushrooms, mustard, ketchup and mayo which proved to be unstructurally sound. I've ordered from this place several times and every time I've had a great experience. The food is always hot and well-prepared. The last time I went, my food was 20 min late for the pick up order, but after getting to the store, it looked like I had ordered online right as they got a huge rush. They recognized that my order was running late after about 10 minutes and offered to give me a free shake/drink item without me asking, which was a very thoughtful/ professional gesture. I have been ordering from Five Guys periodically for two years. Tonight I ordered a cheeseburger and a shake. After waiting two hours the cheeseburger arrived stone cold with the buns soaked from the veggies into inedible mush. I called the store and was told they were not responsible for the DoorDash delivery time. My iPhone shows when the food is picked up and it only took a few minutes to get here. So obviously the store had the food sitting there for a couple of hours and handed over ruined food. When I called them they said there was nothing they could do and it wasn't their fault. I will say, if you're in a super hungry mood, a stop here will definitely fill you up and beyond. :) Located literally next to the movie theater at Thornton Place, this burger joint serves up huge burgers, hotdogs / sandwiches, decent shakes, and hit or miss hand cut fries. Prices are a bit higher than your average fast food burger place (with most items being at least $5 and above) and service can be a bit slow sometime. Popped by here with a coworker prior to watching the movies and we ordered: a "little" bacon cheeseburger, a regular size bacon cheese burger (which is only +$1 more than the little size) oreo milkshake, and a large fries. Overall, portion size = huge in terms of food. For the fries, we basically had like half a paper bag worth and they were alright. Not too crispy and not too soggy, these fries weren't anything fancy except for the minor seasoning. As for the shake, it was creamy and thick, and I do like the finely crushed oreo pieces within it. For the burgers, you do get an option of "going all the way" (a.k.a get all the toppings listed in black font on the menu) or hand pick the toppings. I got the everything combo and man...it was a mess eating it. The bacon cheeseburger itself was pretty tasty, especially with the grilled onions and mushrooms on it. However, after taking a couple of bites, the burger basically fell apart, leaving me to pick and nit at it with no utensils. Buns were a bit dry and overall, I couldn't bring myself to take pictures due to the mini meltdown of the burger. For little burgers, it's 1 patty. For regular burgers, it's double patty. So keep in mind that it's roughly a dollar difference if you decide to upgrade the burger sizes. In all honesty, I do prefer to pay a bit more for other gourmet burger places vs 5 guys. But for the convenience factor and relatively clean restaurant, 5 guys is a good choice for those who are hangry before a long movie. read more

Someday when I'm old and senile my great grandchildren will come and visit me at the nursing home. I'll be sitting in a wheelchair with a far off look in my eyes and a smile. My great grandkids will wonder what I'm smiling about. They'll never imagine it was a hamburger I ate on a wintery afternoon in 2013. Saturday afternoon the boy had a basketball game. The team warms up for a half hour before the game. As a loving parent, I of course want to be there for the game. But the warm up? Not so critical. Even before dropping him off, I knew what I was going to do with my free half hour -- speed over to Five Guys for a quick bite. If you've not been to a Five Guys, here's a quick rundown. Five Guys serves hand formed burgers, grilled to order. They offer 15 different topping options which includes sauces and sautéed vegetables - all of which are free to add on. Ordering a burger "All The Way" provides you with an established assortment of eight topping or, if you want all the toppings, order it "Everything/All The Way". I like this bit of trivia that I found on the fiveguys.com website: "There are over 250,000 possible ways to order a burger at Five Guys." I'll take mine "All the Way, please." Five Guys' French fries are delicious. They are cut fresh on location each day and often sourced from local farms. (On past visits I remember seeing a chalkboard with the name of the farm and location, although I didn't notice that on my most recent visit.) The fries are cooked in cholesterol-free peanut oil and you can really taste the authenticity. They are damn good. If you're not a burger and fries fan, Five Guys offers some really nice alternatives including Hot Dogs, Grilled Cheese and even Vegetarian Sandwiches. The only thing they do not offer are milkshakes. Man would I love a milkshake right now. But I digress. The final item that is notable about the food at Five Guys is they offer free peanuts. That's right, giant bags of salted peanuts that you can scoop into a paper bowl and go to town on. Not really my thing, but all you have to do is look around to see just how popular they are. The restaurant is always clean. The bathrooms (well men's bathroom) is clean. The people working are friendly. Kudos to the owners. They've really got it figured out! So back to my burger. I know there are lots of burger shops in Seattle and many with higher aggregate Yelp ratings than Five Guys. Still, I'm here to tell you that this may have been the best burger I have ever had -- and worlds better than comparably rated burgers in the north Seattle area such as Dicks, Burgermaster, Jaks,or iBurger (see my review: http://bit.ly/U5DwwF).
