Absolute train wreck, they care far more about filling online orders than they do about taking care of customers in the restaurant. And they're extremely inconsistent on the amount of food they put in to entrees one they will pile ingredients in and the next they will barely cover the bottom f the bowl with rice and skim on the protein as well. Ok, WOW! I visited this Chipotle for the first time today since moving into town. Their customer service was very disappointing - cold, annoyed and short. I had ordered three entrees, and the server acted like I was bothering her, and the cashier was short and snotty. The chips I ordered were very stale, like day-old stale! I was filling up my cup at the drink station, and an employee on break shoved himself right in front of my arms (causing me to back up because he would've been touching me had I not) to get himself a straw and fork! That was surprising. I'm normally very impressed by Chipotle and their foods, but I will not be returning to this location. read more

Bypass this location. Worst ran Chipotle I have ever came across. I visited once when it first opened and never came back because Qdoba is across the street. My wife needs the Chipotle fix every now and then is always disappointed when she dines at this location. She always complains of the rice being too hard and clumpy and the chicken is either dry, overcooked, or this time, flat out burnt. My wife and son didn't even get through half of their meals because of the chicken was sooo charred. I tasted it and was like eating the scraps off the bottom of the grill. Online ordering at this location is a joke. Your better off just going in. My wife has ordered online before and said waited longer than it would have to gone through the line. This time my wife and I were 30 mins out and ordered. We arrived 5-10 minutes after my time was supposed to be. There were 5 others waiting for online as the people who just walked in kept moving through the line. Some people started to ask about there order, so I eventually did the same. The lady said it's right here, sitting between the cash register and next to the food line. I asked how am I supposed to know that is my order when it's not on the online shelf. They advised that when there are two bags they place it on the counter. I asked how am I supposed to know that. How would any customer supposed to know that. This place has been consistently Below average in taste and service. On any given day, you'll find The rice and beans undercooked, meat not ready, lines out the door and slow service with only 2 people behind the counter. Reviewers are absolutely correct to instead visit the Merrillville store because clearly their Management know how to run a Chipotle store. This Valparaiso store Management clearly needs some help/direction on how to run a Casual Fast food joint efficiently. read more

I fear that this may be a rebuilding year for this particular Chipotle. For the last several months I have experienced repeat issues at this location such as undercooked brown rice and leathery, over-seasoned chicken. I had a recent, terrible experience where the queso tasted like a piece of plastic had literally melted into the cheese. It smelled similar to when you put something you're not supposed to into the dishwasher. Unfortunately I didn't realize this until I had already taken a couple of bites which was truly disgusting. I called to let them know so that they would stop serving it and they didn't apologize or offer to replace my food. I will say that the employees seem friendly and well-intentioned but it feels like there is a real lack of leadership and direction. read more

I hate to leave bad reviews but I've been disappointed by this chipotle location three too many times. Now that's partially my fault as I should have realized after the second time that was enough. The most distinct of my bad experiences was at about 8pm and I believe they close at 9. No issues with them being out of product thankfully! But there were at least 5 employees there and it took forever to finish and get checked out. There was one person in front of me who was an employee and ordering but once I was up a had to repeat what I wanted at least three times and I was getting three of the exact same bowls! Finally I just did one at a time because trying to say I want this on everything didn't work. When the employee ordering ahead of me checked out it took FOREVER for some reason I'm not sure what was going on. Then when it was my turn the employee at the register walked away to do something. I don't it was just very discombobulated! And I've worked in food service I understand customers can be horrible but as a employee you have to try to listen! And I didn't get mad and yell I just will stop going here and go to Portage instead. I've also had friends who've gone to this location say they are out of the most basic things like chicken or the pico and they've gone to other locations further away just so they don't have to deal with the mismanagement. I didn't give a one star because some employees were okay. And I think this is a pretty obvious management issue and the regular employees can't completely be blamed. read more

Took 30 minutes to get through a line with only 5 people in front of me when I got there. The serving of chicken was far less than any other Chipotle I have ever visited. The real issue, however, is after they started my burrito and it had the rice, beans, and chicken on it, they left it sit on the counter while they made at least 4 online/call in orders. They just kept skipping in front of my food to make some other food. At least ten minutes went by before my burrito was finished. I eat Chipotle fairly regularly. It is one of my favorite places to eat wherever I go. This place is the worst I have been to. I usually eat at the Portage Chipotle where I have never had anything but great service. read more

We eat here at least a couple times per month. Idk what is happening but the last two times has made me rethink about ever coming back. The portions are so small. I get a sofrita bowl and can only finish half so I save the other half for another meal. Not recently. Hardly anything in it at all. I had to dig around to find the beans! My son and husband's burritos were so small the tortilla was folded all the way around. Usually those are so full they're bursting. What is going on!!??! I really don't think it's worth the money anymore. Also, I get sofritas because I don't eat animals. It's a risk for accidental meat at any restaurant. But when it's nearly every time you find it in your food? This location obviously doesn't take care to keep their protein separate & that's disturbing. The steak is always rubbery and the guac has little to no flavor on multiple occasions. I've been to the one in Portage, Michigan City, and many other locations in Indiana and they are fine. Probably one of the worst ones I've been to. After my last meal here I don't think I will be back. Ordered with the app today and when I went and picked up the food, the employee stated that they didn't have any avocados, although I was charged for 5 of the guacamole adds. They also did not have tomatoes, so no salsa. The employee stated that I would have to go back to the app to get a refund. When I opened the food upon arriving at home, there was also no lettuce and no grilled vegetables on any of the orders either. Contacted the "manager" on the phone and she stated, we are shorthanded! Epic screw-up of a DoorDash order tonight. Wasn't even close. Employees must have had organic brain damage from sniffing glue or something. 4/5 entrees were so wrong as to be unrecognizable. Not even close. It was as if they took all details of the 4 orders and then intentionally and randomly mixed them up. My dairy-allergic kid got nothing. The rest of us had to eat things we didn't order or want because Chipotle and DoorDash played pass-the-buck. I got a $12 refund on a $100+ order that was almost entirely wrong. This chipotle is a hit or miss, more of a miss unfortunately... Every now and then it's good if you go earlier in the day. We went there two weeks ago in the evening and it was absolutely horrible, like everything.... I get a veggie bowl, the veggies here are either burnt or not cooked at all - they were not cooked AT ALL - not to mention they were barley cut... The rice had big hunks of cilantro, I love cilantro but not all in one bite. You can tell they are lazy and don't properly prep the food. Everyone in line got WAYYYY to much sour cream the guy serving was so unproportional..... once people in the line started catching on people started to not ask for it. Oh and I've been here before and had them charge me for guacamole when I just asked for it on the side of my veggie bowl (which it's suppose to come free).. why should I have to check that? Last year I went in around 9pm and more than half of the ingredients were out, therefore we got the food for free. Personally would have rather paid and gotten more than a 3 ingredient bowl but that was a nice gesture by the young lady at the counter. I am OBSESSED with chipotle but it's so upsetting this one just sucks. Avoid this chipotle, not worth it. I walked into this location. We were the first people in line. We waited 25 minutes to get spoken to and served. This is not fast food. We also asked when we would get served and we were ignored. We understand their are many mobile orders, but customers who also dine in should be prioritized. Hard workers, but there should be some better organizational structure when preparing food to ensure the customers are served in a timely matter. I won't be coming to this location again, but the food is always great. Just not managed well read more

I love Chipotle way too much! That's said, this is the slowest chipotle I've ever visited. I've frequented many, in a couple of different states even, and this one consistently has the slowest moving line ever. Don't get me wrong, I expect a line, I just don't prefer to spend 30-45 minutes (on each occasion) standing in one at a Chipotle. Food is still good which is why they get an extra star.
