Absolutely horrible customer service !! I go there all the time and the gentleman who was not taking my order was asking me about my sandwich and what I wanted on it and when I was replying to the girl that was taking my order the gentleman got mad started grabbing things and acting very mad and was very nasty ! I will not be paying for a sandwich with someone who is acting unhinged ! I asked for a refund instantly and he was still nasty ! I will not be back !! SMH !!! When I get a chance to go Firehouse they never disappoint. And there's no difference for the one in Valpo!! Courteous workers. Great food. And I love that you have options of hot or cold sandwiches. The hook And ladder is my favorite, I love the fact that they have that Coke machine has way to many options, and I like the brisket too. Love their meatball sub. I used them to cater my sons birthday party and they have great prices and even delivered it. Kids also liked the fireman hats that came with it and they provided all plates/utensils/sides. I wasn't very impressed with the grilled cheese sandwiches for the kids however. In the past I've done the meatball and it's good. Brownie was excellent. Their pickles are soggy & warm. Not a good combo for a dill spear. Chili is bland w/no spice. Different kind of taste. It was strange to me. Gave it 4 stars which is generous. Deserved 3 but I was the 1st review. There is hope for better. Does Beat the crap out of subway which isn't hard to do. A little $$. Went here for the first time today with my husband. I got the New York steamer and he ordered the firehouse steak and cheese. Both were delicious. The steak and cheese tastes like a Philly cheese steak sandwich and the one I had is like a really great roast beef with some vinegar taste to it. It is super great and the service was great too! Food is terrible! We ordered the smokehouse beef and cheddar brisket sub and it was awful. What we were served looked nothing like the picture on the menu. The picture shows sliced brisket and the brisket we received was so well beyond shredded that it looked like regurgitated cat food. Not to mention the entire sub wasn't filled with meat and the cheese was non existent. Firehouse subs has become my favorite fast food restaurant in Valparaiso. The owners are great people and the staff is helpful and friendly. I have had each of their premium hot subs and they are all good. The subs put places like subway, Quiznos, and jimmy johns to shame. Prices are slightly above some of the other sub places, but the quality is worth it. Very tasty sandwiches. read more
