Me and my boyfriend stopped by this location a couple of hours ago. We had already seen some of the reviews, but it was the closest one, so we figured, "How bad could it be?"We were excited to get home and eat our bowls. That excitement lasted about three bites. Out of nowhere, my stomach declared war on me. I barely made it to the bathroom before disaster struck. I've been to the bathroom about four times since eating, and let's just say it wasn't a solid experience. Then my boyfriend started complaining that his stomach hurt too. Sure enough, he ended up making several emergency trips to the bathroom with the exact same results. I don't know what was in our food, but if they accidentally seasoned it with laxatives, they absolutely nailed the recipe. Guacamole is supposed to be green not this greyish brown product we received. And this isn't just the outside that browned it is the entire thing. Disgusting that they would even serve this. I want to like this place. Chipotle food is delicious. We live nearby so it's a convenient. But we've given this place the benefit of the doubt one too many times. It's become a joke in our house that our order will be more wrong than right. The service is incredibly slow. I'm pretty sure either there is no manager or there is no training for employees. Often our online order will say ready and will not even be started. The floor is always sticky and nothing feels clean. We've given this place so many chances because it's close and chipotle food is good. But skip this one. Save yourself the frustration. To the customer service rep: no thank you. This Chipotle recently opened at this new location in Red Mill Walk, where Schlotzky's used to be many years ago. This replaces the one that was at the smaller location in Red Mill Commons. This Chipotle is accessible from Nimmo Pkwy. and Elson Green Ave. My most recent visit here was on August 12, 2022. The first time I came to this location was about a month ago. The weather wasn't so good that day, so we ordered ahead in the app. This location has a drive through lane that the other location did not have. Their drive through is called the Chopotlane. Once we got there and went around the building, we came up to the window. We were greeted by several staff members as they were preparing orders. This day was also a special for free guacamole on a burrito, side, etc. In the end, they were out of guacamole due to several catering sized orders. We ended up getting free queso on them instead due to this. Once we got home, it was time to eat. Except for not being able to get guacamole, everything was good. It was a better experience than the ones I had at the old location. My next visit was on August 12, 2022. The plan was to order there and dine in. It wasn't too busy at the time. When it came to ordering, we would find out that they were out of several items. They were out of chips, guacamole, and fajita vegetables. I continued as I was getting the chicken bowl and I had some guacamole at home. Even with that, the food was still good though. As for seating, there is a maximum occupancy of 99. There is more seating here when compared to the old location. This thing about being out of items seems to be a recurring theme. When I was talking with one of the workers while ordering, they had said that they are short staffed and not having enough to prep items at the beginning of the day. The cashier said that they tend to run out of guacamole early in the day. This should be a sign to management that they need to prioritize time better and still make stuff throughout the day. Overall, the food has been good with no issues. The service by the staff there are good as well. I was debating between 2 and 3 stars, but ultimately went with 2 stars because they just seem to not have all their food offerings available. For now, I won't be in a rush to come back because of this. Hopefully over time they can get their stuff together. If you are in the mood for Chipotle, my best experiences locally have been at the one near Lynnhaven Mall. read more

Ordered a bowl in store today to go. When I got home, realized there was an outrageous amount of salt on either the rice or the sofritas. Took a bite and crunched into straight salt. It seems that someone accidentally added too much and didn't discard the food after their error. Also, they're selling you drinks from a machine with no carbonation or ice. My main complaint is the place was a mess and poorly staffed. I went in to get my order which app said would be ready at 7:50pm and I arrived around 8:15pm and they had not even started working on it. Not great but I can deal with that. Next I stood at the counter for like 3 minutes or so without any one acknowledging me and there was no one else at the counter. All of that is a bad look, but the main thing that will keep me away for the store is that it was an incredible mess. Food all over the serving bar and the kitchen a total mess. I've never seen a fast food joint so messy. So bad in fact, that I would waste my time to write this complaint . How does the newest Chipotle in the area have the worst customer service. Order online for pick up through the drive through at 6:45pm and was confirmed to pick up at 7pm. Get in the drive thru and wait behind one car for 15min. Get to the window and wait another 5min. I provide the Chipotle employee the name on the order and she proceeds to look for my order for a couple of minutes. She comes back to the window and tells me they are out of carnitas and asks If I want a substitution. I ask for barbacoa. Burrito comes out a couple minutes later and it feels small which I figure is because I opted for no rice. Get home 10 minutes later and open the burrito to find that it is missing guacamole, corn salsa, and romaine lettuce, and definitely didn't appear to be the double meat portion I ordered and paid for. Drive back to Chipotle to ask for a new burrito or a refund. The Chipotle employee who handed me y order at the window says "oh yeah, we are out of those things that were missing..." I explained that it Wally's have been nice for her to have told me that at the window considering I paid for the guacamole. She replied with "yeah I guess...I mean you would have paid for it anyways"... She then offered to give me number to call for a refund. I remember when Va Beach got our first Chipotle at Lynnhaven Mall and how awesome it used to be. This place is always out of something. Normally I just tolerate it and get my bowl with whatever they do have at the moment. But the other day I placed a pickup order and paid for chips. I came in and talked to an employee who handed me my food. Then when I got home there was a note in my bag and said "Sorry - out of chips". Why didn't the employee tell me in person that they were out of chips?? And why didn't they help me get a refund? Time to clean house here, literally and figuratively. The work station where they put you food together and visible to the customers is always a mess. The employees have no sense of urgency and ignore you for an inordinate amount of time. When you are eventually helped they have earbuds in and can't hear you. They are highly inefficient, one makes all your food while another just stands by the register, doing nothing. Suffice it to say, management needs to fire them all and start over as the culture here is one of laziness and will likely be ground zero for another one of chipotle's food borne illnesses outbreaks. The straw that broke the camels back and pushed me to write this review, was when I went to what is supposed to be a fast casual sit down restaurant to grab food to go and there was a sign on the door that read "mobile orders only, sorry for the inconvenience". The one star comes down to customer service and cleanliness. The food is on par with what you'd typically get from any other location. For services, one of the small things that bothers me (perhaps it's generational) is when the kids have earbuds in while in a customer service role. They will also ignore you (for a very long and awkward period) without saying "I'll be right with you" or something similar. Lastly for service, they are slow and lack any semblance of motivation or work ethic. For cleanliness, the work station they make the food on is disgusting with old food bits and smears all over. Decent food - however the menu has been reduced down to the "subway build your own" as you go experience and along the way kinda lost some of there unique taste. I do believe the corporate ownership has really killed the soul of this chain restaurant; it use to be really good with decent size portions... now it's just a shell of its former self. Aside from the corporate beat down of that chain as a whole... there are issues specific to this location.... it's located in a nice shopping center with good parking, that's about where the good stuff ends. The staff leaves a lot to be desired; a bunch of what seems to be high school kids that have been hired to run the place that don't know the menu, what types of meat are being service or how to build a quesadilla. They are more interested in how low they wear their pants (enjoyed seeing a few of the staff with their ass hanging out of their pants), wearing their hats all various ways and fist pumping there friends that appear to drop in and walk behind the front counter to hang out. The plethora of flies flying around the dining area and inside the food holding/assembly area was equally delightful. This place is off to a terrible start, not to mention the weird, over lemon-ed flavor on everything. To be clear on this review - it gets two stars due to the overall condition of the restaurant and the staff's performance and appearance... the taste and quality of the food is acceptable and up to each persons taste. I recommend seeking food elsewhere until the owner or manager decides to get this place in order and start removing those who should not be representing your establishment - start managing your restaurant! Poor customer service. I just visited this chipotle and asked for taco shells on the side and got the response from the line worker: "we don't do that here". I worked at chipotle for 4 years and gave customers tacos on the side all of the time. It just gets entered as a side tortilla on the cash register, or you can enter the order in as tacos. This location is just not good. It has a pickup drive thru and I waited over 20 minutes behind a single truck to finally get to the window. They should have asked them to pull ahead, like all other drive thrus. Then, I waited another 8 minutes before they even come to the window to ask for my name. My order was ready for about 30 minutes at this point, as I had ordered through the app. They give me my order and quickly closed the window, but they forgot my chips. So I had to wait another 5 minutes for them to come back to the window so I could tell them, and turns out they were out of chips. Oh, and out of fajitas. You can tell Chipotle is struggling to find qualified employees during this time where people don't want to work, so they're hiring anyone and everyone, and the poor quality shows. read more

This chipotle has really gone down hill. We placed a to-go order online and the three bags of chips ordered were not included. A note was written on the bag that they were out (which we thought was odd). A credit was also not issued. The white rice was either not cooked or several days old because it was hard as a rock. The carnitas were dry, hard and likely several days old. Tried to contact Chipotle to at least get reimbursement for the missing chips and they would only offer an online credit for chips that expire in 30 days. I do not recommend. I've given it a few chances and each time I'm disappointed. They're either out of certain items or don't give you very much. Ingredients aren't fresh, today it was old, wet lettuce and she gave me a small handful for my salad. I came home with it and picked it all out and used my own lettuce. Pretty sure I was over charged as well and the girl wouldn't give me a receipt. Wherever the owner is they need to check on this store.
