Part of Riverwind wild card rewards are the 3-course meals which include a salad, an entree, and a dessert. I like the house salad with balsamic dressing better out of the 2 options. For the entree, I have been getting a lot of the grilled chicken breast with steamed broccoli. The tilapia or the chicken pot pie are also good light eating options. The other entrees on the menu are just too much food. The chocolate cake is the best dessert option. Also part of Riverwind wild card rewards are these monthly $35 food vouchers which I have been using for the 10 oz NY strip at Chips N Ales. Surprisingly, this is the best entree at this restaurant. I don't really dine in at Chips N Ales anymore. If you dine in, the host seems to overestimate the wait time. The wait time at Chips N Ales is no where near the wait time for the seafood buffet. The chef actually came to the table to ask me how I was enjoying my meal and she was so sweet for asking. I let her know how this is now my favorite dish here. My hubby had a bacon cheeseburger and we shared a plate of their Irish Nachos and Fried Green Tomatoes. The food was served hot, but did take some time to be delivered. I have been here a couple times and the food is really quite good. Yes it is in the casino and I am NOT a fan of smoke but once you are in the casino, all bets are off. With that in mind, it is not really too smokey in the restaurant. I do wish they had a bathroom in the restaurant but aside that I really liked my experiences here. I've enjoyed (and posted photos) the Irish nachos (amazing), the smothered chicken (fair), the chicken and fish (and shrimp) (very good!), the shrimp appetizer (delicious) which I was a bit put off by the price ($11 for 8 shrimp) but it was so good that I put that to the side (I highly recommend asking for more bread), I also had their sirloin which was a bit overcooked (when expecting it well done and asking for well done, one does not wish for a extra dry-tough steak, it just means "well done" lol), but maybe if asking for a medium plus you will get your sirloin done to perfection. I still did not have to use any sauce (which I never do for a GOOD steak) so that is a plus. And they have a limited selection of scotch which is my preferred choice if I decide to have a drink, being that it was New Years Eve, I did opt to. Service is decent-very good, depending on who serves you. I had one woman seat us and attend to us part of the dinner and another the latter part which made things a bit odd (I like to have some personal feel to who I am tipping, or else I may not tip at all if I feel like I am constantly being shoved off to the next available server), but for NYE my server was 1. Funny 2. Helpful 3. Available 4. Left me alone to enjoy my meal. Which for me = a happy customer and great experience. Would I come back again? YES! We waited for over 45 min to get our salad and a shrimp dinner! It was horrible! The Shrimp and fries Had so much seasoning on it you could not eat it! The fry's we old as well. Never again! Riverwind should be ashamed of themselves! They don't have one decent restaurant in the place! Let's talk about the Casino! No extra sanitation stations in the place! No one wiping off machines after guests us them! The Tribe that owns this casino don't care about their guests at all! They had plenty of time to make this place better and safe for guests to return! They did nothing! They can burn the place to the ground and start over for all I care! It would be a good start! The management team here has their head up their ass! After a concert and a night of walking around the casino {Windstar) my husband and I decided to try out this place, very happy that we did. We both ordered the Fish 'N Chips and enjoyed every bit. She brought my unsweet tea, which was great, and my salad with ranch. Crisp and fresh and the ranch was great. Then out came my food. It was nice and crispy and the fries were hot and fresh. ***The worst costumer service*** First: It all it took over 10 minutes to be seated. This is with one person in front of us and 3 other family's already in the restaurant. The biggest turn-off about this place is definitely the smell. It's inside the casino, which is smoker-friendly, but the restaurant is no-smoking. You can't tell. There are no doors, which means the cigarette smell from the casino is all over the restaurant. The second biggest turn-off is the service. The host was friendly, but the server was curt and didn't seem interested in staying at the table for more than 30 seconds each visit to our table, which only came every 20 minutes. The third biggest turn-off was the food, which took 30 minutes to come out after we ate our salads (which came out wilted and overdressed). My mother ordered the chicken-fried steak, which came so overdone that the fried part flaked off every time she tried to cut it, and the mashed potatoes which tasted like dry flakes straight out of the box. I ordered the grilled chicken, which was pretty safe and tasteless. The only saving grace was my macaroni and cheese, which was a solid 7 out of 10. The water tasted good. While visiting the Riverwind Casino we ate two meals here. Dinner in the evening & a breakfast. The hotel provided a coupon to be used only for breakfast at the Chips N Ales. For this meal ordered their Triple Dueces from the menu which was covered by the coupon. For all except a glass of Orange Juice . The Triple Dueces included two eggs, two sausage links or bacon, & two pancakes. Great sausage. No long aftertastes. The medium to small sized pancakes were surperb. For dinner settled for a combo of cod, chicken, & shrimp served with cold slaw & several portions of fries. Must say the combo was extremely good, tastey, worth reordering this dish at our next visit. The three sauces, one for each food item, added to the delicious flavor. Our bill for two was under $30.00. The servers were both professionals. Decor of restaurant is beautiful and a romantic place to bring a date. read more
