    The Truck
    Jack M.

Chiquita Catering has about six trucks roaming around San Diego serving up holsem Mexican-American food. The trucks come out of a location on Ruffin Court, but they are all over the place and don't spend much time at one location. I happen to run into one of the trucks at 8595 Miralani Dr, at the Carpenters Union and Apprenticeship Center's parking lot during lunch time where the truck shows up at 11am and only remains to about 11:45 am to noon, before it heads of to the next locations. The truck driver "Chelly" and the young lady cooking were both very nice. I ordered a beef birria burrito which came with tender juicy meat that was modestly seasoned. Although the meat was good, I did feel it needed more of those herb, spices, those blended and stewed red chili pods for flavor. The burrito also came with pico de gallo and I added rice which was good. They did forget to put the guacamole it was suppose to come with so I was little bummed about that. The flour tortillas that came with the burrito was very good and the burrito was of good size. They make tortas, burritos, tacos, quesadillas, and breakfast items.

    Burrito with "no onions" fail

The service was polite and friendly. I ordered a burrito, with no onions. It comes with beef, beans, rice, cheese, guacamole. I received a big warm burrito with extra onions, no cheese and very little guacamole or rice. It could have been epic but it wasn't.

We were initially aiming for the crispy shawarma however only Mira Mesa and La Mesa does it. So I guess that's next on our list! The wraps were unexpectedly big! This is probably the biggest wrap I ever had! Generous with meat and veggies. Their wagyu egg rolls are definitely must have! Falafel fries is really good too! All of these perfectly paired with their garlic sauces. My favorite is spicy lemon garlic! The staff are very knowledgeable about their menu. It's a food truck set up and there's mini standing tables for alfresco dining. SG was definitely lived up to the title #1 restaurant in the country on Yelp!

Not really an ambience since there's not much as far as a dining room. There are a couple of cocktail tables where you could eat. After ordering online at 20:20pm, my estimated pick up time was 8:39pm and got the order at 9:03pm. The cashier informed me their chicken is taking a while and added extra time to the wait. It probably would've been faster if they weren't so backed up. I ordered the Wagyu beef and chicken shawarma plate for me and my wife to share. I added 3 falafels and pita bread on top of it. The food was still fresh when I got home 15 mins later. Everything was good and just enough for us two. Also, I'm not sure why there's a range of where they may be located on Yelp since this is just a food truck that seems to be permanent at this location.

This Hawaiian food truck was hands down one of the best meals I've had in a long time. The food was incredibly fresh, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. Every bite tasted like it was made with care and authentic island flavors. The portions were generous, the prices were fair, and the service was just as impressive. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming, making the whole experience even better. You can really tell they take pride in what they do. If you're craving authentic Hawaiian food, this is the place to go. I can't recommend it enough and will definitely be coming back again and again. At first glance, we knew we were in for a true authentic and great meal when we saw other Persians dining at the restaurant ;D Vibes: Namino shares a parking lot with other food establishments but on a Tuesday afternoon, we didn't have trouble finding a spot. The restaurant gives a mom and pop vibe, where they warmly welcomed us in. I loved that the lady gave us a bell to ring when we're ready to order. There were more than a handful of 4 person tables available inside. No outdoor seats. The guy who took our order and served our food was welcoming and our food came out within 10 minutes. Food: -Beef Koobideh Kabob ($15.95): skewer of suuuper flavorful beef served on a bed of saffron rice with a side salad and half a roasted tomato. I saw one of the reviews here that said to put sumac powder on the rice-- thank you for that! I asked for tzatziki sauce on the side and it paired well with the kabob. -Beef Kabob Sandwich ($11.95): my husband ordered this and he loved it as well. If we weren't in a hurry to catch a movie, I would've loved to try the baklava. Overall: A great authentic Persian restaurant located in La Jolla. You won't be disappointed!

This truck once operated out of the Del Mesa Liquor store lot but has since moved to a vacant lot on W Morena Blvd. This allows them to post up near the empty business with tables and chairs mostly underneath the building awning to offer shade. Plus, plenty of parking! The OG Fish Taco now at $4.25 is the obvious choice. It somehow comes with two battered fishes (each SO crunchy) along with fresh pico, cabbage, and white sauce. Despite its battered format, it is still mostly fish. Otherwise, the grilled fish taco is $6. Maybe slightly healthier and less heavy if that's what you're looking for. Their mariscos are something to celebrate as well. The tostada shrimp aguachile for $12.95 was beautifully presented. Upon first glance, it doesn't appear to have much shrimp, but hidden underneath the multitude of fresh cut fruit and avocado was a treasure trove of raw shrimp. This one was a bit harder to eat but they thoughtfully give you another chip underneath to use as your vessel for consumption. It's all so, so messy, but the truck has a wash station to clean up your hands afterward. Oh, did I forget the complimentary seafood consommé gifted to you as you wait?? Simply the best! Somehow, Kiko's is still legit despite a potential dilution of operations across the other truck and the new brick and mortar. Definitely a preferred location for easy access, top quality mariscos, sit down table availability, and early morning grub session (open as early as 9:30am).
