A bonus is that I am able to wear something other than my running shoes on a daily basis - although I do still look for supportive shoes. 2 years ago an issue flared up related to my lower back and he quickly noticed how out of alignment my hips were and after a few visits, I was feeling so much better. But the reason I am writing this is because of my most recent. I was really struggling with ankle pain. I had not injured it and normally when I get this type of pain, it is an indicator that I need new shoes. But new shoes and 6 weeks of no running did not solve the problem. She's very strong and although I could feel how deeply she was moving along my spine, I was never uncomfortable. I left the first day feeling a little better. She was denied services at The Joint and left to look for a chiropractor on a Saturday late morning with limited neck mobility and driving. It was dangerous for her to be out there in so much pain and unable to move her head while driving. Dr Contreras was the second office I called and he responded right away and said yes, have her come in and I will see her. He was closing in under 30 minutes but he let me know she might have to wait but that he would see her before closing his office at noon. I called my friend who quickly made her way over to his office. Dr Contreras saw her and quickly diagnosed the problem. He worked with her for over an hour and gave her specific instructions on what to do in order to maximize the results of his work and asked her to return on Monday. By Sunday she was better and by appointment time Monday she was almost fully recovered. She will continue to see Dr Contreras for ongoing treatment and support. I just have to say that you have two types of providers, those who say sorry, but I won't help you and those, like Dr Contreras, that say, head over. Let me take a look. But after three months of weekly/biweekly sessions, she gently let me know there was something deeper going on with my lower back--and that it was time to call in the pros. Enter Dr. Haque. I booked my initial visit through their website and got a text back to come in the very next day (they're open M/W(full day)/F). The intake process was thorough: foot scans (Foot Levelers), movement tests, pain point assessments, and baseline x-rays. What I appreciated most? No high-pressure tactics, no rushed adjustments. Dr. Haque takes the time to review everything first to determine if treatment is appropriate--plus, the entire first visit was free. I was back that Monday to review the results and go over care options. I want to note--I'm an entirely out-of-pocket patient since Kaiser doesn't make chiropractic care easy.
