I have to admit, I was skeptical - sometimes you don't know if you can trust how high the reviews are - are the bad ones hidden or perhaps they are fake reviews? But I can attest that my experience with Chicago Locksmiths was all I could have hoped for and more. Aedan was phenomenal - I called because I needed to get an electronic lock installed. He not only set up time to come by, but he proactively recommended electronic locks to me, steering me towards a better lock than the one I planning to install. After I looked further into it, he saved me the hassle of having to get additional hardware to use with the other lock I was planning to go with. That's above and beyond service in my opinion. Response time was pretty much immediate and Aedan was able to come out same day without an extra charge. Also, he was so patient throughout all my questions - just amazing customer service. They helped with making a key for a file cabining - based on the model number. They were fast and friendly. The key maker also told me- just to get one made to make sure it worked before I bought multiples- that was refreshing to see. Amazing service. The gentleman who helped us was straightforward and helpful. We just wanted to replace the locks on our condo (front door, back door, and deck door) with three new that were keyed alike. He explained that we probably didn't need the super-high-end lock he had in stock, and sent us over to Crafty Beaver to get some perfectly good Schlage, and then came back to the Locksmith to have them re-keyed. Prompt efficient service, reasonable prices! After a request through Yelp for help with a malfunctioning deadbolt lock, I soon received a response to call their office. They were able to send a technician out the same afternoon. Although the technician worked at fixing the old lock, it still did not function as well as I would've liked, so then I decided to just have him install a new lock. I can't describe how amazing the service was. Noah literally made my day and made the process easy and talked me through what was needed. I was so worried about how this would go and he just really did a great job. If we could ask for techs personally he would do all the associations work. I got locked out of my car and called AAA to help me get into my car. After an hour and no luck, the AAA technician left and told me I'd probably have to tow my car. I called Chicago Locksmiths and they were there within a half hour, and they got me into my car in less than 5 minutes. Went to their Diversey location to arrange to have a lock installed. Was told that they would call back with a service date/time within an hour. After four days I received no phone call. So I called them back and they had no record of my order, phone number, location..nothing. Apparantly the branch offices have no connection to the head office and vice versa. Everything is done on paper - apparantly no computers, no text, no communication among the branches. I finally called them. Tried to get the Diversey location where I started but NO, not possible. Got bounced to their phone answering services. I was very rudely placed on long hold 3 times before even describing my problem. Finally got a person (who was very curt with me). They apparently finally got on the phone with the guy from Diversey store and figured out my order. We'll see what happens next. But their phone customer service is abysmal and phone staff are rushed and rude. Thought I'd try them as they opened location near my house. Big mistake. Back to Ashland Lock next time. Much better customer service. read more

I was referred by a friend to Chicago Locksmiths and I see why! They were fantastic! I got locked out of my apartment on my way to dinner. In a panic, I called my friend to cancel dinner and she insisted I call the locksmith near her office and referred me here. She said they were great and I'd probably still be able to make dinner.
