I met up with my sister for dinner here. This place is more of a causal atmosphere. You order in the front counter and they have a separate menu for weekend brunch. The matcha lemonade was refreshing on a hot sunny day. I got the high protein tofu bowl and my sister got the sesame noodles and crunchy cashew bowl. The food was good but I wasn't blown away by any of it. I think this place might be more popular for their brunch options!

Similar to what other reviews had mentioned, I found mostly romaine in my salad so the name felt misleading. The shiitake bacon had a rubbery texture and didn't have much flavor. They did let me swapped the tempeh with tofu which also tasted pretty bland. Nevertheless, everything aside from the shiitake bacon tasted fresh and the portion was substantial. The restaurant was packed when we came on a Wednesday night but service was fast.
This is the slop that Chloe sells at her restaurant. I ordered a takeout order and this is what I received. Overcooked mashed up macaroni and cheese drowned in a nasty overly sweet sauce. The restaurant was better when it wasn't in her hands, ironically enough. Won't ever waste my time or money here again. If you want quality, delicious vegan macaroni and cheese, check out Vegan Grill a couple of blocks away.
As always Chloe hits home! I have missed this spot since it closed its doors in Silverlake so I was STOKED to be eating here on my birthday! The quinoa taco salad has always been me and my partners go to! It is simply delicious and hits the spot every single time! The matcha lemonade was of course perfect as was the butternut Mac n cheese. I have also always enjoyed the Guac burger and literally alll of the breakfast menu is delicious( breakfast only on weekends). The spot is tiny but it's well worth the wait for a seat, I mean it's busy for a reason am I right!? It's so bright and airy inside and there is also seating outside on the sidewalk. Super comfy and cute overlooking the cute west village streets. The staff is incredible and patient and willing to help and give recommendations when needed. They all are super warm and friendly. There is absolutely no reason to not come eat at Chloe's trust me with this one!

My family and I were big fans of the original By Chloe chain, so we were thrilled to hear that Chef Chloe reclaimed her brand and opened this new fast-casual eatery. It was busy on a Saturday around 12:15 p.m., with about a 5-10 minute wait in line. As we neared the front, we excitedly realized that Chloe herself was working the register! She was so kind and welcoming. We received buzzers for our orders and grabbed an indoor table for two while waiting for our food. I ordered the spicy cashew crunch salad, which is apparently their most popular salad--and for good reason! It was delicious and generously portioned, with an impressive 45 grams of protein. The spicy cashew dressing had a nice kick just shy of being too spicy for me, and the super-seeded avocado added a refreshing, cooling element. The Fresno chili jam was an interesting touch--flavorful in small doses--and the tofu was nicely baked and marinated. I really enjoyed this salad and would happily order it again (though I might try subbing the tofu for tempeh next time just to change it up). I also tried a few bites of my friend's quinoa taco salad, and it was just as tasty as I remembered! My only minor note would be that the cherry tomatoes could've been a bit firmer and fresher. Overall, I'm so glad Chef Chloe is back--and I can't wait to return!

The gluten-free chocolate chip cookie genuinely taste like cookie dough. It was insane. The bowls are delicious. The spicy cashew salad I dream of. I haven't tried the tofu. I sub the tofu for the tempeh because it's marinated in something heavenly. Not the biggest fan of their Caesar dressing, but the actual Caesar salad gluten-free without the dressing is so good still. I'm obsessed with this place. The first place I'll be going when I come back to New York.

Many great options, but I went with the quinoa taco bowl and a matcha latte with some type of maple "mylk". Then I found myself a table. I will say that I hate touching buzzers because I'm a hypochondriac and they use them here. But I guess that's a personal problem, lol. The bowl was sooo good and so was the matcha. Completely satisfied my craving for a healthy meal and a small hit of caffeine. Can't say enough about the ambience. I felt like I was in someone's dining room! I will be back.

I tried the seasonal cinnamon roll - matcha strawberry ($12, a bit steep) - and it was large, soft and delicious. I've tried the cake slices here in the past too and they've all been solid. As for entrees, there's a brunch menu on the weekends until 3p, but I elected for a salad from the all day menu. The spicy cashew crunch salad was as flavorful as it was colorful, the chili jam on top was a great kick. The pancakes at brunch looked really good, would definitely try those if I came back. There's decent seating inside and out, though it does fill up on the weekend. The menu has plenty of options, but a lot of nuts so those with allergies should be cautious. I did appreciate that they asked everyone ordering whether they had any allergies. Chloe has a great mix of lighter "health food" fare, as well as more indulgent vegan options, truly something for everyone!

I had the Warm Protein Bowl ($18.90): warm coconut rice, black beans, baked organic tofu, roasted shiitake mushrooms, kale, avocado, pickled onion, pico de gallo, pumpkin seeds, butternut cashew cheese, and chipotle tomato sauce. So good. For my "second visit" (aka my takeout order five minutes later), I swapped the coconut rice for the cold quinoa and bean salad -- also delicious. The second bowl had fewer mushrooms, but they weren't the headliner for me anyway. The true stars? The black beans, pickled onions, and that dreamy butternut cashew cheese. I would like to formally thank whoever invented that combination. But the real reason I'll keep coming back to this restaurant anytime I am anywhere near this neighborhood? The Matcha Latte. I had it iced with my meal -- so good even the melted ice tasted fancy. Then I had it hot with a Chunk Chocolate Cookie which is dangerously delicious but that hot matcha was rich, smooth, and absolutely scrumptious. I even went online afterward to hunt for the Matcha recipe in her cookbooks (turns out there's a lot of matcha desserts, which may or may not be a problem for future me). Bottom line: I will absolutely be back -- probably "just for a matcha"... and somehow leave with a cookie again.

Haven't been to many vegan restaurants, but this is a nice spot that's clean and low key. You order at the counter and get a buzzer to pick up your food. They try to use compostable cutlery, straws, and bowls but unfortunately don't have a space to actually compost them in the restaurant. Butternut Mac n cheese - very mild flavor that's pleasant and subtly draws you in They also have a nice matcha latte (so popular in the city these days). read more

5 stars for the food but everything is really expensive and service is slowwww so overall 4 stars. I've had Chloe's predecessor By Chloe a lot back in LA and was hyped to see Chloe reopen in NYC. Many of the original food items are still on the menu here, including my favorite Quinoa Taco Salad. The salad comes with romaine. cherry tomatoes. white bean quinoa. avocado. spicy maple seitan. crispy tortilla strips. agave lime dressing. coconut lime drizzle, and supergreen goddess dressing. I enjoy the variety of textures and flavors in the salad a lot. But for $17 pre tax, it is pretty pricey. The most recent time I was here, I waited 35 minutes after I ordered at the counter for my salad and fries to be ready. read more

Absolutely amazing place that I trust for clean, healthy and delicious food that you can tell is carefully prepared and packed! The butternut squash Mac is so simple but SO TASTY and COMFORTING! The Almond Butter Sea Noodles are out of this world ... the only non-grain noodle I have ever had that didn't have a strange texture! The Brussels sprouts are decadent and the wellness lemonade was exactly what I needed for immunity from the travel. Thank you Chloe! read more

What a super cute place Chloe got back! I went on a Sunday 4pm and the place was still packed! The service is great - they are fast and super attentive. Coming to the food - I went ahead with warm supernatural bowl on a cold day and it was amazing!!! The combination of black bean, tofu and roasted shiitake was great and this bowl was so comforting! The ingredients are fresh and clean. I am excited to try other things from the menu next time. read more
As a nonvegan, this place was pretty decent! I tried By Chloe YEARS ago and enjoyed it but unfortunately due to the unfortunate story of Chloe and her former business partners, it closed down. I'm so glad that a couplebyears later, she reopened a place! I got the classic burger and butternut macaroni and cheese. My friend also got a classic burger and roasted tomato basil soup. The burger was very good and it tasted like a normal beef patty burger. I do notice a difference in their cheese since it's vegan cheese but it worked well and was not bad! The macaroni and cheese was pretty good, again, different to a non vegan mac and cheese but this would satisfy any mac and cheese cravings if I were to go vegan. Tomato basil soup was as tasty as a tomato soup can go. This place is great, and I would not mind vegan places if they were this good. read more

wow wow wowwww one of the best salads I've had ever ever. this place is exactly everything i could dream for in a cafe/restaurant/casual grab and go or stay for hours type spot. all the food options are made with super clean ingredients, all plant based, and made with whole foods. It's all protein packed and packed with sooo many good nutrients + SOOO DELICIOUS!!! loved the quinoa taco salad and studied here for hours. ALSO THE DRINKS!!! dark cherry matcha latte was so strong, perfectly balanced in flavor, and slight sweetness. made with elmhurst milks too which are s tier. read more

They didn't have the tomato soup nor the ice cream dish when I went unfortunately so I just tried the chocolate chip pistachio cookie. I'm not a fan of added salt on cookies it's too salty. I didn't ask so it wasn't the easiest to eat when I realized. But I do like pistachio on a cookie now...good combination. Pleasant staff, nice seating structure although when companies use material for seating they need to wash/replace frequently -- stained seating is not attractive/comfy to sit on. And this is not a hole in the wall brand. Go, enjoy vegan eats read more

I was debating between 3 or 4 stars, but it was closer to a 3 star experience. The place is very cute and the cashier was very friendly. As for the food, I got the kale caesar salad because I heard raving reviews about it. I was surprised to find that there were only like 2 pieces of kale with the rest being romaine, so the name of the dish is definitely misleading. It was nothing too special, but the caesar dressing was pretty good- definitely not enough for it to be called "the best salad" though. For over $17, not sure if it's worth the money because it's really mainly just romaine, croutons, and a small piece of avocado. read more

This was a location I've walked past many times and always saw it was packed both inside and outside. I've heard from various friends and colleagues that it is a popular vegan spot while others expressed it is an over-hyped spot. So I finally went in and left feeling content and very full which is a job well done! The staff was very patient and helpful especially when I expressed that I was in need of a warm coffee. I ordered a drip coffee with oat milk since that is the only warm drink available in their coffee section. It was a simple coffee but on point with the coffee strength and warmth, especially on an extremely cold day when I ordered it. The two items I ordered that left me feeling content and full were the butternut mac-n-cheese topped with shiitake mushrooms and tofu egg scramble with fresh avocado, salad, and sourdough bread. The mac-n-cheese was soft and creamy with toasty shiitake mushrooms that I wanted more sprinkled on my mac-n-cheese. And tofu egg scramble was the right balance of fluffy scrambled eggs with firm tofu paired with fresh avocado and salad. It was quite packed and lively with many tables and a community table. I was lucky to get a table but do time it accordingly if you wish to eat inside. The many conversations filled the space but were not too loud so you could converse with your friends without the need to shout over anybody. The decor of the space, from the assortment of various chairs at the community table to the vibrant wallpaper and wall art, is the ideal foodie photo op. Make this restaurant your introduction to vegan food or add it to your list of vegan restaurants while in the West 4th neighborhood. read more
Chloe is an absolute gem in the West Village. Though they were quite busy, I appreciated that we were still able to snag two seats without any wait. The portion size of the spicy cashew salad is generous, and the salad itself is so good -- the tofu, the sauce, the edamame, the chili jam. Just wow. I dare say it's the best salad I've ever had. I understand the hype behind this place. My cousin, a NYC local, raved about their salads to me and brought me one of the spicy cashew upon arriving in Manhattan. I kid you not, I went back and ate here every day for 3-4 straight days The food is EXCELLENT and very fairly priced for the portions, in my opinion. The spicy cashew crunch salad is one of the best salads I've ever eaten in my life. I loved the taco salad as well, but the cashew one is my absolute fav!!! Also, the cookies I tried were delicious and I'm looking forward to trying more soon! Can get very crowded on the weekends. The food also took long to come out (15+ minutes). I appreciate how the owner, Chloe is in the kitchen and even bringing out dishes. It really shows her dedication and close touch point to her business. My friends and I ordered brunch dishes and the burger. All of the food was great. I wanna start by saying I like never ever write reviews.. I was walking by looking for a coffee spot that I could use the restroom, Chloe's looked cute. Walked inside grabbed a latte and waited for the restroom. The pastries looked so delicious that I went back to the counter to ask if any of them were dairy free. The sweet woman at the counter was like "they are all dairy free!!" I had no idea this was a vegan restaurant!! I got 4. Gluten free chocolate chip cookie, espresso cookie, orange poppy muffin and the matcha blueberry muffin. Every single one was INCREDIBLE. Best chocolate chip cookie I've ever had and I've had a LOT of vegan desserts over many many years. These were the best desserts and pastries I've ever had. Even my cousin who is not vegan at all said the same thing. As I'm eating them I'm looking around and I see a cookbook on the shelf, I go to look at it and it's the woman who took my order on the cover of it. It was her vegan restaurant. I felt so silly that I had no idea where I even was. I can't wait to come back to the city and have lunch here. Also the vanilla bean latte was soooo good. All my pastries came to 24 dollars which I also thought was so cheap for them being vegan and also being in NYC. I was well prepared to spend like 35-40 dollars. This has become one of my go to spots. I love everything here- even the lemonade is delicious! I've tried more desserts including the cinnamon roll and various cookies and all have been great. My go to is still the cashew crunch salad and mac and cheese, but it's also been fun to try new things like the mushroom burger and brussel sprouts. Highly recommend! read more
