Seasoned vegan is my absolute favorite vegan place to eat. I have been a huge fan of Seasoned vegan since they were first located Uptown. Very happy that they are now located downtown in the East Village with late night hours. The service and food are absolutely amazing. My absolute is the BBQ vegan craw fish sandwich on the pretzel bun. The fries are delicious! Could not believe how amazing they are. Last but not least.... the cupcakes. The lotus biscoff cupcake is highly addictive not sure what's the ingredients, but they taste so delicious and they are vegan. All I know is, I can't get enough of them. They are my absolute favorite. I was in the area and needed a quick bite--the sign outside reads, "seasoned vegan real quick," so I took it as a sign (pun intended). There were two people at the lone outside table, but no worries, they've got a few more tables and some bar seating inside. It's counter service here, and the woman behind the counter was super friendly and made the experience. Since I'd never been before, she even let me try a few samples--always a win! The fake crawfish was a standout--nicely fried and tasted like the real deal. Definitely recommend! Most of the food options looked a bit on the heavier side, so be ready for a solid meal. I had the collared greens, which were nicely seasoned. I rounded the meal out with a mandarine soda, which was delicious. My wife and I flew out to NYC last Thursday to visit our daughter for a long weekend. By the time we got from JFK to her place, it was getting late (after 11PM), and most of the local East Village restaurants had already closed down. I checked Yelp and found Seasoned Vegan Real Quick -- great reviews and vegan and open until midnight. We made a beeline over. We were greeted by a very friendly guy at the counter -- maybe the owner? We talked through the different food options then placed our order. The Craw Pretzel Boy and fries for my wife, and the Lemon Crusted Nuggets and fries for me. We sat at a table on the sidewalk as we waited for our order. There's been some hype about this new location for SV, and we really didn't know much about the place except that it's vegan and people in its former location (uptown) loved it. So we happened to be on the LES and decided to try it for early Sunday evening supper. Found it, with its temporary sign hanging over the door, right near where STOMP! used to play. It's a very small storefront place - a counter and a kitchen behind it, no tables or shelves on the walls or anything between the door and the counter. We never, ever, get fast food but apparently that's why part of the name is "Real Quick!" The young woman behind the counter could not have been any sweeter! She recommended the craw pretzel boy, and I had read raves about it, so we each ordered it. Asked for an order of fries to share, and a bottle of water. They do offer a combo, sandwich +fries+drink, but we chose not to get that. We paid and chatted, and before we knew it our food was packaged and ready to go! Like I said, we never get the likes of BK or McD's, but the sandwiches and fries were absolutely terrific! We carried the bag with the hot food, and our bottle of H2O, to a park about 10 blocks up 2nd Avenue. Sat on a bench and unwrapped the well-wrapped food, still hot and fried to perfect crispness. AMAZING!!!!! So I've been a fan since they were in Harlem, but I am here for their new era! My mom and I had the bbq crawfish sandwich and it was 10/10 AMAZING!!! The flavor was on point! Sunday... July 18th (evening)...We visited the one and only Seasoned Vegan. I wish I had taken a picture of my friend's meal She ordered a Harlem Philly Cheese steak or (chopped cheese) I forgot but we both order a side of Mac and cheese. I added double extra fried chicken. Cons: -Cramped seating, but happy this place is popular! -I wish they had a more common sauce option like ranch or mustard for the nuggets -I wish they offered a multi-grain bread or whole wheat tortilla option for sandwiches -Waiter does not check in often enough to fill waters -If you ask for more sauce they charge extra like $2-3 extra..... -Customer service with the waiters is hit or miss -Menu says the stuffed avocado was served on mixed greens but then it was served on romaine and waiter didn't notify us of this when we ordered -If you send the dish back they don't remake the dish they just lift up the avocado and throw spinach underneath it. If you're just going to give a customer spinach then don't take my plate back to the kitchen. Bring a bowl of spinach. There's also a small full bar with a few stools. There was a bit of a wait, yet my kind hearted Server - the glowing expecting Mother (I forgot her name), made up for it with her ray of light service. Actually, all the employees worked well together as smiles were given, while finish plates were picked up & water bottles were refreshed quickly.  My initial plan was for Brunch. Until I sat down & got the dinner menu & decided on the sampling approach: Lemon Crusted Chicken Nuggets - great consistency, battered & 'seasoned' just right. Grits with Cheese - a little overcooked, yet tasted good. One Hoe Cake - the perfect flapjack. Mac & Cheese - one of the better versions I've eaten. I was absolutely, overly & excitingly pleased with my selections, prices & portions, which provided me with another meal later on. You'll also see a mix of various cuisine throughout the menus. While my stomach delighted in the soulful food creations, I was engulfed by the atmosphere of "Ma'am & Love" salutations, that provided me a wonderful dining experience. The name is a perfect description of what is served, seasoned vegan food. But while the food is great, the service is somewhat lacking. I've been attempting to come for a while but they were never open when i could go (closed on Mondays, open @ 5pm mid week) but i finally made it 1 Saturday. Not 2 dwell on the service which wasn't the best, but you would think after all of these years of being open, the host would be accustomed to being crowded and busy, plus people walking in without reservations or being on the list. Nori Rolls were a fave. I had no idea what i was eating while I was eating it but it was delish. I call the pizza quesadillas a tourist trap. They were safe and for a person who is scared to try new things. Couldn't believe the smothered "chicken" wasn't meat. It was so good that non vegans won't miss the meat. Sweet potatoes (or yams) were yummy. Mac & "cheese" was good but could have used a tad more seasoning or "cheese" flavor. The Raisin cupcake was awesome and a perfect ending to my meal Seasoned Vegan definitely had a unique point of view from other places I've tried. I called them in the afternoon on the day of my visit, and they said they open until 9 pm. But they will stop seating people from 8:30 pm. I arrived at 8:38 pm and almost couldn't eat here. They ended up seat us at the bar table. The neighborhood feels sketchy around this hour of the night. I didn't feel safe as I walk to/from the restaurant to the subway station. The food was great. We enjoyed pizza quesadilla, the mixed veggie wrap. Both are full of flavor and satisfying. The mac&cheese is alright. The crawfish is OK, a bit saltier than I'd like it, and the salt also covers other flavors. read more

This is the only place in the city that has heat! I can't remember the last time I was NOT cold while eating out, so I love them solely for this. But if you care about the food...everything was delicious. One of the better menu choices I tried was the chicken nuggets. I definitely recommend the barbecue sauce over their "tangy sauce." Their barbecue sauce is mostly ketchup based and is not at all spicy but more sweet. I also really liked their mac and cheese. It is surprisingly sweet and is creamier than other versions I've had. It didn't satisfy any cravings for the real thing but it was great in it itself. The fish steak is just fishy enough with seaweed wrapped around the edge to look like skin. While I enjoyed the flavor, I was angry at how much raw garlic and onion was in the topping without any mention of it on the menu. Besides the mac and cheese, my other side was their sweet potato soufflé. While it was delicious, it tasted like dessert. The texture is one note and their is so much yummy cinnamon and sugar that you'll barely want dessert after your entree. I wish I could give this place five stars but there were too many little upsets that made me subtract one. In addition to the garlicy fish surprise, we were also shocked with a larger bill. They charged us without telling us for swapping out a different sauce on an entree and for asking to try both sauces with the chicken nuggets. I was a frequent visitor at the Seasoned Vegan in Harlem, and was very disappointed when they closed down. I finally made it to the new location, my mouth watering for their delicious Mac and cheese. Unfortunately, I was completely let down. The macaroni and cheese is very expensive, almost $14, and the size isn't really worth it, and it tasted nothing like it did when they were in Harlem. The Mac and cheese was watery and bland, and to make matters worse, I ended up getting sick and throwing up a short while later, which almost never happens with anything I eat. We ordered the Portobello Strips and the Stuffed Avocadoes to try out. The portobello strips came with 2 sides, and I ordered potatoes and broccoli. The flavor was okay - the Portobello strips had a flavorful sauce and the sides were pretty typical. The portion sizes were decent, but not enough if you're hungry. The interior was nice and dark, but there was no air conditioning. For a hot summer day, this was a bit of a letdown. Overall, the experience was okay. I wouldn't purposely come out here to have a meal, but if nearby, I would give it another chance in the future. read more

But that doesn't explain why I got a mimosa that was opaque; this wasn't a mimosa, this was spicy Sunny D! When I asked for more champagne/a more translucent mimosa, I was basically told nah. I ordered the soy chicken and sweet potato pancakes and the shrimp po'boy. The food was bussin'! They really know what they were doing with the food. But the service was abysmal. I get that y'all are busy, but there's no damn excuse why my server was kee-keeing it up with her other co-workers, even having a ten-minute dance battle with folks at the bar. I'm trying to close my check and leave. Y'all just didn't care and pay any attention to me and it made me feel really marginalized. I love supporting Black-owned businesses, but this ain't it fam. Once again we took the travel from Jersey to come to Harlem for Seasoned Vegan. I love my bbq crawfish - so yummy and it had been probably about a year since I've had it so I was really looking forward to it. We called ahead of time as there's no dining in. I was told by the guy who answered that I should go through the Door Dash app or Postmates app to order. I advised I was from New Jersey and coming into town to pick up food but he said I could go through the apps for pick up. I asked if I could just call back but he told me if I were to call back and order through him, there was no guarantee he could take my order if he was busy with customers (thumbs down) I went on the app but was concerned about paying a fee for ordering plus they didn't have a lot of food options on the Postmates or Door Dash menu we've been used to previously, especially my chocolate chip cookie which I love so much so I called back. Luckily a lady answered the phone and took my order with no issues. I asked about the sautéed portobello mushroom entree option and my chocolate chip cookie - no and no. Turns out the menu has been consolidated due to Covid :-( We were advised food preparations would take about 35 minutes. After 35 mins we went and got our food and ate in the car while the food was still warm. The food was packed properly and it was absolutely delicious! Customer Service: Was 2 stars but increased to 4 after speaking with the lady. Food: 5 stars - delicious! Menu; 2 stars (since they took away my chocolate chip cookie) Yup! I'll be back. read more

First time here, cute little spot and very crowded. We walked in I was perplexed as to why the AC wasn't on. It was like walking into a very warm packed train on a summer day. There were two ceiling fans set at the lowest setting....which did nothing to cool the room off. Just like some other reviewers had made mention the lady at the check in desk was not friendly at all. It took a while to get the waitress to come over after giving us the menus but she was very friendly when she did arrive to take our order. Our food came out very quickly, I loved the avocado appetizer and my friend really liked the tuna roll appetizer. I ordered the catfish entree which was spiced very nicely and the broccoli was fantastic. My friend ordered the burger but tore thru it before I was able to get a picture lol. He ordered the cheesecake with the mango topping for dessert and gave it a thumbs up. I can tell from the taste it contains high sodium and MSG alike seasonings. Friendly service, but suggested a better cleaning on the floor and tables. But Seasoned Vegan is great and if they made food for the entire world, veganism here I come! Had the crawfish in garlic sauce (with sweet potato souffle and mac and"cheese") and the shrimp po-boy (w/ fries). Both were amazingly delicious. The sauce and flavor of the "meat" was incredible. Does it taste like meat? Yes it certainly does. Is the texture the exactly the same? 80-90% there. Close enough that I gobbled down everything on the plate. read more
