I had this horrible craving for big rice bowl full of eel so off I went to Hmart on a Sunday evening. The place was bustling and parking hard to find. Honestly the place was overwhelming to walk into and get out of. I am on crutches due to recent injuries which made the visit all that much more unpleasant on a rainy day. Now the eel dolsot bibimbap was delicious but I found the fish slightly undercooked and too sweet due to the excessive use of eel sauce. Otherwise I think it was a wonderfully executed takeaway food from an Hmart food court type place. The portions were large enough to be split between two adults. The banchan box was a nice touch and made for a nice addition of textural variety in otherwise very mushy bowl of food. I wouldn't mind ordering from there again especially if I'm in the area. The service was fast and polite too.

Great experience at the H-mart food court. We ordered the tofu soup and bipbimbop combo and this easily could have fed 3 people. The combo is a bit pricey at $32.99, but it can easily be shared. Comes with bonchon side dishes and a fried fish too. Bipbimbop was delicious and had a lot of vegetables. The soup was a bit lacking, but maybe because we got mild spicy.

I was craving tofu soup on a cold rainy day and thought I would give Cho Dang Tofu House a try. I think other people had the same idea because we had to wait quite a while until our order was ready. I ordered soft tofu with dumplings. It came with rice, banchan (cucumbers were my fave), egg and a packet of seaweed. I ordered mine mild, since I can't handle spice, which was perfect. I prefer BCD and Kaju since I really like the range of banchan and the refills, but Cho Dan is a decent alternative if you don't want to endure the wait or the headache of finding parking at Diamond Jamboree. Food court gets a little crowded on Sunday right after noon, so you might need to hover nearby people who look like they are almost done.

Good portions especially for dolsot bibimbap, definitely enough for two people. We got the eel dolsot bibimbap and the yukgaejang which are new (maybe seasonal items). The service was fast and the presentation was pleasant with a big flat hot plate and a school tiffin of side dishes which is honestly more convenient and easier to carry. The eel dolsot bibimbap was good- like the packaged Japanese eels but they cooked it to a crispy caramelized level and you can press down the rice + leave it for a crust as the plate is hot enough (a bit harder if u disrupt it) The yukgaejang had a lot of authentic veg and good flavor, however, the beef brisket was on the dry side. Not too spicy good depth. The side dishes were okay. I loved the crunchiness of the cucumber, but the kimchis were overfermented and sour. The beansprouts were a bit old and the fishcake were good. Overall, popular place shareable portions, pretty decent and i feel improved :)

Curiosity and a well-timed craving for bulgogi brought us here! THE FOOD. - Beef Bulgogi. A generous serving of tender slices of sweet-marinated beef paired with rice and a side of banchan: stir-fried flat fish-cake strips (eomuk bokkeum), kimchi, bean sprouts, and crisp kimchi-style pickles. - Bulgogi Japchae. A REALLY big bowl of soft, glossy glass noodles generously mixed with sweet shredded bulgogi, delivering that perfect balance of savory and sweet. It normally comes with a side of rice, but that was missing from my order. However, the side of banchan helped round out the meal. We had plenty of leftovers that lasted us days! THE VERDICT. Generous portions of well-seasoned, sweet bulgogi and delicious banchan. I'd definitely come back for the bulgogi japchae and would love to try other dishes.

3.5 star. A few visits to Cho Dang and I noticed that food is not always consistent. I always get the beef Soontobu, sometimes it is very tasty, sometimes it is bland. Sometimes it comes with cheese, sometimes it doesn't. I like the barchans, but the barchans are inconsistent too. overall a quick meal at HMart food court.

Cho Dang Tofu house is my favorite restaurant at the Hmart Food court but it's also one of my favorite soft tofu spots in general. I always get the soft tofu soup with seafood and beef (number 4). They give you a large portion and include lots of banchan (side dishes) even a tiny fried fish. I usually pay around 18 dollars which is not bad at all for the amount of food they give you. I never have to wait long for my order and the cashiers are always nice. There's is plenty of seating areas as it a pretty big food court.

Their bibimbap not only looks really good but also tastes really good. When you enter the food court where they are located, you can see some people eating their bibimbap on the hot sizzling stone bowl. For two extra dollars, you can get soup with it too. It was such a filling and delicious meal for two people and we still had leftovers after!

Located right in the H-Mart food court, Cho Dang offers super convenient, lightning-fast service, HUGE portions, and next-level quality Korean food. I've been to all the other locations that have your traditional sit-down setting, so I was worried this spot would not be as good because of its location. I am glad that the food was actually so delicious, fresh, and taste was just as good. This is the perfect place to grab a quick warm meal, making it perfect for busy families and coworkers! This is located in h mart food court. We ordered the vegetable tofu soup with mild spice. The soup itself was pretty bland and didn't taste spicy, and veggies were limited. It did come with side dishes though which was nice. Food came out at a reasonable time. It wasn't bad but would probably choose something else in the food court because there's so many other delicious tofu soup around the area!

This gem is located inside H Mart's food court in the back. I initially came for groceries, but mine as well enjoy some Korean food while I'm here! Parking: There's a large parking lot, so finding a spot can be a hit or miss. This lot is always busy. Ambiance/Environment: There are lots of other Korean restaurants offering all types of different Korean foods. This one was most appealing to me bc they had tofu soups, bbq, noodles, bibimbap, and more. There's plenty of seating. It was veryyy busy when we visited during lunch time. Finding a table was a challenge. Service: We interacted with two workers. The male worker spoke limited English but enough to get by. He was very nice and knowledgeable about the menu. The female worker was courteous and attentive. Foods: Each dish came with banchan and more! 1) Beef Short Rib (soft tofu soup) - The soup was absolutely flavorful with a generous amount of tofu! The beef short ribs were big and came off the bone easily. 2) Galbi (BBQ) - Grilled beef short rib with sweet soy sauce, onion & green onions. Wow, the grilled smoky flavor brought me back to my childhood. The days when my family had our backyard bbq party. You know these hit when they remind you of your childhood. 3) Hot Stone Spicy Chicken (Bibimbap) - This had spicy chicken, rice, vegetables, furikake, & egg. I asked for mild spicy, and it had just the perfect kick for me. The chicken was cooked well and paired deliciously with everything else. Make sure to mix it right away or the rice will burn on the bottom! 4) Bulgogi Japchae - Stir fried glass noodles with vegetables & beef. This dish didn't feel too heavy. The glass noodles were cooked well and had lots of flavor from the bulgogi. 5) Beef Brisket Kalguksu - Noodles served in beef bone broth with beef brisket. This is perfect for sick days. This dish honestly reminded me of chicken noodle soup but with beef lol. 6) Bulgogi Pancake - Their pancakes are thiccck. Don't forget to dip! The sauce made it even more flavorful! Again, very generous with the meats. Pricing: The portions were larger than the actual picture. Each dish can be shared at least between 2 people. Definitely worth it! I got more than I should've, but now I have lunch & dinner leftovers for the week lol!

Located in the H-mart Food Court, I really really enjoyed eating here! My 3-year-old enjoyed their food too and she can be picky. Portions are HUGE and more than enough for myself and my toddler. Their included ban chan are very tasty. I've tried their tofu soup, bibimbop with squid, and seafood noodles. After you order, they give you a beeper, notifying you when your food is ready for pick-up. Everything was hearty and flavorful. The food comes out piping HOT so be patient and don't start devouring right away, as hard as it will be to wait. Don't be afraid to ask for extra bowls, utensils, and napkins if sharing. I loved their food so much I came back with my parents and they loved the food too. I highly recommend coming with a large appetite. EXTRA TIP: The food court gets pretty packed after 5:30pm. It's a popular spot for families so come a bit early or be prepared to wait for a table.

First off, the portions are huge. My friend and I had split a bulgogi japchae and we still had leftovers! This Korean dish has glass noodles, beef, veggies, and they provided some extra sides as well. Everything tasted so good and savory, highly recommend :)

There is nobody else standing in line outside and the owner comes outside to tell me 2 times that I need to wait 30-40 minutes. I told her there is no waiting in front of me, and that it should be first come, first serve. She says no, you can only sit on tables for 1 person and it will be a 30-40 min wait for that. I said okay, but if there is no line and people are done eating with empty tables it should be fine, right? There is a waitlist, and that it should go in order. She said no, you can only get seated on tables for 1. Then she proceeded to say it's a 30-40 min wait again as if I didn't already know that for the second time. I told her i'd wait, but now i'm feeling bad and don't know if she even cares to earn my business. It's my 5th time coming here, and unfortunately this place was one of my favorite Korean restaurants and since I'm from out of town I make sure to visit each time I am in the OC. I'm not sure if I want to continue coming back here if service remains this way. It's embarrassing enough to come alone, it's even worse when you're called out in front of people inside of the restaurant while there are only 3 people waiting outside. When I got seated she didn't even give me a menu and asked me what I wanted. Lucky for her i'm Korean and was already a repeat customer from the early days so I was able to order right away-otherwise how could I order? God forbid I ask for any recommendations on the menu... 1 star well deserved for this. Congratulations this is the first time I rated a fellow Korean restaurant 1 star. There is a first time for everything I suppose.
