Chocolate Bash smelled amazing when we walked by it while at the Irvine Spectrum. We decided to get inside to check it out. WOW, all kinds of chocolate! So many choices. Of course I ordered the Dubai chocolate strawberries! Loved them but way too expensive. Totally satisfied our chocolate cravings! My older daughter was bummed that Somisomi ran out of cookies and cream ice cream yesterday night so I had to figure out how to cheer her up. Luckily I spotted Chocolate Bash in the distance. I've ordered from the Tustin location before and remembered loving everything I ordered (especially the lava cake) so I quickly made my way over with the girls. The staff was so friendly and helpful in answering questions. My daughter had a vanilla ice cream topped with Oreo crumbles and we all shared chocolate covered strawberries. They skewed yelp reviews because if you do a review and show it to them, they give you a free chocolate covered strawberry. If people were giving honest reviews after they received their order, instead of before they even place an order, there is no way it would be ranked this high. This was the most disappointing and overpriced dessert place I have ever taken my kids to. Their charge after charge for each topping and layer scheme is ridiculous. I tried to just go with a cheaper option with the chocolate dipped banana and that was a $9 banana that was mushy inside, and fell apart as I ate it. I squashed a child's dreams because he wanted brownie and chocolate and ice cream and told him he had to to choose 2 things instead of 3 and I still ended up with $12 for a single brownie with some chocolate drizzled on it. They draw you in with these toppings and options and build you own, but if you actually built it like you would want, some base, chocolate, ice cream and a topping, it's a $25 dessert for one person! This was an over priced dessert and you got my money one time, but you will never get another dime from me again. read more

There are seats and tables outside but finding a communal area in the Irvine Spectrum is probably better. We got the cup of strawberries with chocolate , pistachio paste and knafeh topping and it was so delicious and refreshing. Is it worth $15? Possibly. I would have to be craving for it and if it is peak strawberry season, I would treat myself to one. We also got a bar to take home which, from the bars I have had in the past, their Dubai chocolate is ok. Although staff was friendly, the service was slow. We waited 25 mins after ordering which is not bad if you have good company but when you are hungry and a toddler, that 25 mins seems forever. Saw a BOGO deal for their Knafeh pistachio chocolate bars on Postmates. We were hanging around the Spectrum and decided to pick it up to try. It's marked at about $13 on Postmates but with the deal it comes down to about $6.50 a bar which isn't bad. Pickup was easy. The bars were neatly packed in a takeout bag. The bars are much smaller than pictured and they come packaged already. Upon tasting, we really like the texture of the bars. The knafeh is reminiscent of the texture of rice crispies inside a Crunch bar. This is essentially that but with more and pistachio filling. The pistachio was good, but we wish the flavor was stronger. Still a very good chocolate bar. read more

She said the pistachio cream really gives it a distinct flavor. I ordered a chocolate dipped Oreo. It was good but really there was too much chocolate to even taste the Oreo. It was still good but I've definitely had better dipped Oreos. Staff was quick and kept the short line moving quickly. They were friendly and professional as well. Store itself is quite small so with only 3-4 small groups in line, we were at the door. Today i walked in on my own behind a mother and son, the mother and son ordered and the girl at the cash register went to the back as she made eye contact with me before. I waited 7-10 minutes just sitting at the register waiting for someone to take my order as I made it known I was there. I had a movie screen i needed to get to right away and as i waited for the worker she continued to just chat with two other employees in the back. Horrible customer service, the worst desert we've ever had and we order from the Tustin store all the time, it's great. We ordered the platter with the waffle, pancakes, and crape spaghetti looking things with cookie butter, paid extra for strawberries and paid extra for an extra side of cookie butter. When door dashed delivered we were baffled. There was a small decorative like drizzle of cookie butter on just the strawberries. Everything else was dry. It was horrible like literally no cookie butter on the entire thing. Then to pay for extra and not receive it was ridiculous. Then I call the store. The customer service was horrendous. She tried to tell me they put cookie butter on it and I offered to drive it to the store even though it's a 45 min round trip for me to prove it to her, so she's telling me I'm wrong then I said okay well what about the extra chocolate I paid for (meaning extra cookie butter) and she tells me that's not chocolate so we didn't give you anything. So I basically paid $60 for a dry desert that went straight into the trash because we couldn't eat it because it was just like eating dry pancakes and waffles. I asked for the manager and the girl refused over and over, offered no compensation, no way to make it right and not even an apology. You're in customer service and the service industry and this was the most pathetic showing or so called customer service I've ever seen, I would've rather burned my $60 in front of me then order this again. read more
