Wow. I heard about this place, heard it was good, looked into it and saw that it wasn't a place that had chocolate soup, or chocolate worked into other items, and kind of forgot about it. It's in the spot where Republic used to be, and Dough Mama before that, and other things before that. Small, no restroom, only a few seats. Interesting menu, and a dessert case full of gorgeous items. I got the brie BLT, which I think I would call the BrieLT. I like brie, and I like BLTs, but I never thought of putting them together. It works so well. Great bread, fresh veggies, perfect bacon, and luscious brie. So, so good. (I once had a brisket and brie sandwich at a barbecue place, and it also worked well there. Apparently I need to put brie on some sandwiches.) You can get chips as a side, or you can get a fruit cup or salad. I got the salad, and it was excellent too. Perfectly fresh veggies, great dressing. Loved it. Service was minimal, of course, but great. Price was very good for a ton of food. I got a cookie to go for Kid K. First, I'd like to say how much I appreciate how helpful and patient the gentleman who waiting on us was! He made great suggestions and helped us navigate the menu. He suggested the butter cake and tomato soup... both were excellent suggestions. Other than that, we tried the turkey croissant and the bacon, avocado, tomato grilled cheese. Both great! The name is a little misleading, while they did have a few chocolate items, this was definitely more a breakfast/brunch/lunch spot serving the whole menu all day. We were visiting from out of town and went back inside after we were done eating to ask for local recommendations - which he gladly provided. We really appreciated that! One final note - there is minimal inside seating and seasonal outdoor seating. Definitely a great to-go spot though if no seating is open. read more

This is a small, quaint place which is very close to where I work! I love that they have a bunch of desserts, which I hope to try very soon. The staff is really nice & the food was made to order, so it was very fresh when I received it! I ordered the bagel breakfast sandwich & the kitchen sink cookie! The bagel breakfast sandwich contained bacon, cheese, & egg on a bagel and the only thing missing was some jelly. I am not sure if I asked if they had any but it was a good sandwich! I loved the kitchen sink cookie! I am not sure what to expect but there was a lot going on, in a good way! A bunch of different ingredients that added to the cookie! Experienced the Cafe for the first time February 1, 2025. Upon entering, the amazing aroma of fresh brunch met me at the door. The staff was very friendly, polite and professional. I had the privilege of meeting and having a brief conversation with the owner Lisa. She took extra time to welcome me back for a next time and was very genuine in her invitation. All while working as hard as her team to ensure I as well as the other customers were being serviced with the same excellence. The turn time on my Southwest Brunch Wrap I ordered was awesome! Hot and served with a side of FRESH fruit. The TASTE was simply remarkable! I swapped out the sirrachi sauce for a wonderful honey mustard/mayo combination Lisa suggested. It was perfect!! I attended an event down the street and discovered this place while walking. I stopped in to the cafe and ordered an Iced Chai Tea Latte. The shop attendee was courteous and my drink was ready in a flash. The latte was delicious and refreshing. I need to visit again to try their coffee. The food also looked delicious. read more

This place is really cute. I got super friendly service, and it would be nice to sit at the window seating for a little bit and people watch. Their coffee is from Thunderkiss, which means it's really good, and they have a nice selection of sweets, obviously most of them chocolatey. I would definitely recommend stopping by. read more

I didn't realize they had so many food options here! And iced lattes! I wish they had a drink menu. There wasn't one from what I could see, just a few hand written items to the side. I stopped in for breakfast one day and ordered the iced latte and ham, egg, and Swiss croissant sandwich. The sandwich is huge! I literally made it into two meals. Really tasty for breakfast or lunch. The iced latte was also surprisingly good. I just got it plain and it's made from fresh pulled espresso shots. Today we stopped into the Chocolate Cafe Express that opened in German Village/Brewery District, and got the best desserts of our life! I opted for the cookie dough cheesecake bar and the lemon berry mascarpone cake, both were AMAZING!!! My friend got a buckeye and a peanut butter cookie, which looked so good! I'm sad to give this place a three star review ... but I didn't find the desserts overly satisfying. I ordered a chocolate brownie and cookie dough cheesecake something or other. I came at the end of the day... so that could've been it ... but it just didn't taste fresh. The cookie dough was definitely more tasty than the brownie in my opinion. The brownie was dense and claggy. I bought two desserts to try and they were definitely big enough to split ... and even cut in four portions, so I appreciated that. If I go back, it'll be in the morning and to try one of their sandwiches. read more

You would think this place is all about desserts, and they kind of are, but they also have great sandwiches, salads and I believe soups (I haven't tried the soups yet). Dine-in has ample seating. There is also a small bar if you prefer to sit there. You walk up and order at the counter, then go grab your own table. Stopped in to grab a coffee and breakfast sandwich. Really friendly and helpful staff! My bacon egg and cheese bagel was really tasty even after I waited a bit to eat it. The bagel itself was SO good and so was the egg had nice flavor (not plain). There was a bit of miscommunication because I thought I ordered two sandwiches with the two coffees but only one came out... and then I realized no wonder it was only $15 or so, haha.
