    Dark chocolate dipped orange slice

This place is inside a mall. We were greeted when we walked in. We tried the chocolate cup from Dubai and a dark chocolate dipped orange slice. The chocolate cup had a dried strawberry piece and pistachios with something crispy on top. It was a smooth bite that was good. My spouse enjoyed the orange slice. We came here because it was directly across the hall from the dumpling tea place where we enjoyed an appetizer.

I am not a big fan of this chocolate shop.  Three of us finished our tasty lunch at the soup bun restaurant across the hall. We thought a little piece of chocolate after our meal would be a nice treat so we went over to choose something delectable.   Visually, the chocolates looked good.  If the prices were posted, I didn't see them, so I asked.  I don't remember the exact quote but I think the employee said $4-something per pound.  Ok, but just as I'm not good at guessing  people's ages, nor could I begin to guess the weight of one piece of chocolate. The employee could have been more helpful and let me know the average price a piece would cost. She didn't.  I spotted the truffles in the display case behind me.  When we're somewhere with a Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, we splurge on truffles so we decided to do the same here.  The employee informed me as she was putting them in a bag that they were not priced by the pound, they were $5 each.  There is no Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory in Santa Fe (that I know of) but at the one on  the plaza in Taos, truffles are $3.75 each. I think they are bigger and I know for certain they are better.   I don't expect to go to this chocolate shop again.

My "Tribal" hot chocolate was amazing. Not too sweet, and just the right amount of spice.

Temps in the 30's today, perfect opportunity to try this shop's hot chocolate. I *loved* the spice in my "Tribal," and it was beautifully prepared. Unlike other reviewers, I did not find the prices out of line for an artisan beverage - which often reflect the quality of the ingredients (in this case, house-roasted cocoa beans and some really thick whipped cream, plus ground cinnamon and red chile powder). My only suggestion would be to serve the chocolate at a higher temperature, otherwise I was completely happy with my experience.

Chocolate made from the actual cocoa beans another world in taste texture quality we regretted not purchasing more but we will definitely be back Thank You for creating delicacy's such as this! Thank You!

Was so excited to visit this store with unique offerings. However, This store is not open! Disappointed. Visited 1/12/24.

We came here a couple of years ago and the owners were very nice; gave us some samples and we took home some very good chocolate. We returned today and, maybe because it was too close to closing or whatever but we had to practically beg for descriptions of items (and no samples). Instead we brought home one truffle and a small piece of bark for 22 bucks! (See pic) We should have just walked out but it's our anniversary and my wife really wanted a good chocolate to have after dinner. No matter how good it might be they just lost a customer. Buyer beware. There's a place just off the plaza that has great chocolates for about $2.50 a piece. Go there. Not here.

Terrible, stale tasting chocolate. I wasted $20 on four tasteless truffles. Depressing.

We definitely preferred to European style with almond milk, but I think that we would like the more traditional ones if they were made with milk. We also really liked the brownies, though the Aztec brownie + ice cream gave me an intense caffeine overload--my fault! Our first time here we each got an ice cream, both with fudge and whipped cream. As I said, while the Aztec was delicious, it really was too much for me, but I still ate the whole thing! I was surprised by how much I enjoyed my husband's mint chocolate chip--the peppermint flavor was real--it tasted like they soaked the milk with peppermint leaves to make it, and it was so refreshing! We liked the chocolate truffles and bon bons so much that we ended up buying them as gifts. Our favorite flavors were the sage/goat cheese, peanut butter bar, Aztec round, bourbon pecan, and lavender. Finally, the service was outstanding. The servers were so kind, patient, and helpful. Our first trip the server took the time to write each flavor on our box of chocolates so that we would know what was what. The second server listened as we decided which treats were for which friends, and he wrote their names on each box before wrapping them. So very kind!

Though the chocolates are quite costly, $4-5 per piece. I also had a mint chocolate ice cream. The mint flavor here is so unique, of fresh mint, which might not fit well with people who likes mint chocolate ice cream. I like it though. The ice cream is soft and smooth. Chocolate pieces are creamy Mango smoothie is refreshing. I recommend checking this unique place out when visiting Santa Fe.

Chile shop carries Los Chileros and so does five and dime. Los Chileros is a very authentic New Mexican brand of chili products and seasonings, they sell to almost every major New Mexican restaurant. Five and dime uses Los Chileros chili powder for their famous frito pie. It's a very complex chili. The Chile shop's brand of chili powder is so amazing too I'm thankful I bought the 1 lb bag of spice because I made beef adovada at home with that spice and oh my gosh, it literally tastes like I'm in New Mexico and boy is it hot. Very simple store with only new Mexico's best. Kind and helpful staff, very cool store for sure. My only regret is that I didn't stock up enough. Well I guess that's incentive for me to go back to Santa Fe!!

The website has a dated feel to it but I feel that's because they focus on the product, not the bells and whistles. We even visited the physical store in Santa Fe on a road trip. It has to be good if you're willing to drive 1800 miles to be there in person. It was almost a pilgrimage. The cherry on top? My 91-year-old Hispanic mother-in-law gets all her chilis here. If that's not a ringing endorsement, nothing is.
