Great service and excellent food! I dropped in after work one evening when most restaurants were done serving food. The girl let me know they would be open for the next 15 minutes or so. Thinking it was only gelato I was prepared to have my dessert for dinner. I was pleasantly surprised to find they have an extensive salad, sandwich, crepe, and flatbread menu. The girl working here was so helpful and sweet - she helped me pick a salad to offset my double scoop of gelato. I had the pear and gruyere salad with honey - it looks simple but tastes incredible. With an generous helping of gruyere you just can't go wrong! I sat and enjoyed my meal and dessert here and was not pushed to leave despite the store being closed. The server was friendly and attentive as one should be while handling such rich delicacies...I selected the following: Rose, butter pecan, English breakfast, coconut passion fruit, honey, pretzel caramel, bananas foster, cookies and cream, and PB whiskey. I was very excited to come here by looking at all of the pictures that were posted. We are from out of town, so coffee is big for us! We try to go to small businesses, and stay away from the chains. Cakes were packed in styrofoam boxes, which doesn't protect the cake during delivery. The cakes came a little beat up but I personally didn't mind. A variety of sweet and savory Italian crepes are offered, ranging from portobello mushrooms, heirloom tomatoes, to mascarpone cream with fresh bananas. The quality of the gelato here is top notch, and you can definitely taste it after your first sample of any flavor. My go-to flavor at most gelato shops is 'stracciatella', but I will try at least 3-4 other flavors that interest me before making a decision. This cafe has a ton of brunch and coffee options, but I did not have a chance to taste anything other than the crepe/gelato. I think that you get what you pay for when coming here, so you probably can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Came in July 2020 looking for gelato. The cafe is nice and they have a few tables outside. The offerings looked a bit old and you can tell they haven't had much business. The service was ok, but not great. My gelato was actually quite good (pistachio). But the server filled the cup in a way that it got all on the outside rim and exterior. It ended up being a mess! Prices seemed a bit high, but maybe that's the average price in the area. Unfortunately, even during the worst of times, there were a few things they could have done to improve. Hand written signs, dirty tables, dried old pineapple in the gelato, and poor customer service. There was also a non customer working or studying outside, using their table, and listening to music. This place is obnoxious. "Hamid" is very rude and he cussed at me for no reason.I had to have an Arabic speaking person translate for me. My friend bought chocolates from this place and we were outside eating them, I came in being nice to "hamid" asking him to use the restroom because we were outside and he told me fuck you whatever and I was like why are you being like this towards me and he didn't want to listen to me and asked his female coworker to "take care of me " she was rude when I asked for her name and she said "please we are exhausted can you leave ". I had a spinach, ricotta and Parmesan crepe which was fresh and tasty, but maybe could have benefitted from just a touch more seasoning of some type. The crepe was cooked perfectly and I did enjoy it. Next time I think I would try one of the chicken crepes. I had a cup of gelato to go, and selected the chocolate Grand Marnier and Nutella cream. The Grand Mariner was amazing! The Nutella was good, but next time I'd go with a whole cup of just the Grand Mariner. Service was good and fast. There was a bit of a line and she was hustling helping the customers while he ate his lunch and scrolled away on his phone on the counter of the service/food area where they prepared gelatos and the baked goods right in front of us customers. He saw she was busy but didn't offer any help. Maybe he was eating there so she was not left alone? I don't know the reason for that choice but he could've taken a seat at one of the tables in the restaurant if that was the case. We have ordered 2 times from this place via Postmates and the last 2 orders were very disappointing. First order: we ordered a specialty gelato that showed an item with a bunch of fun toppings and whip cream, a photo was shown in the Postmates menu. We got a blend of 3 super rich flavors in a container with 0 toppings. The flavor was too much and we couldn't consume it. We had to reorder and then called to be told by the person working that they don't even have that items anymore. He was friendly and apologetic but after a second mess up I'm kinda eh about this place. Second order: Not sure if the driver took to long or what the issue is but our gelato was nearly melted and the pizza was stone cold. The cheese was hard and tbh I'd have rather just not ordered. A friend and I were in the area during our first night of our San Diego trip and wanted a quick dessert. One quick Yelp search later and we were on our way here! Upon entering, we were greeted at the door. It wasn't busy at all, so we were able to order right away. They have plenty of gelato flavors to choose from, and I wanted to try some before making a decision. The worker was being super strange about providing samples. I later found out she told my friend that there was a limit of 3 per customer. That's pretty rude, in my opinion, considering the gelato is expensive and it wouldn't make sense for me to blindly pick one. Not to mention, the sample spoon she gave was so small and almost negligible when it came to properly tasting it. I ended up going with a Small Cup (~$6) of Kinder Bueno. This flavor was a mix of hazelnut and chocolate. It actually tasted like Kinder! It was a delicious flavor. However, the service I received left a bad taste in my mouth. Additionally, there's a 50¢ charge on all credit cards regardless of price, which is just another quick way for them to make money, I feel. This place would have easily gotten a 4 based on their gelato alone. But the customer service was extremely lacking and the price for a small cup did not make sense to me.
