Complimentary Salad, and Kimchi (2 versions)

I've had Bulgogi Bibimbap many times in my past, but never a Galbi Bibimbap, so decided to try it here... This was a very casual joint in Suwanee...but quite spacious. There was only 1 Korean-fluent waitress, and she was very friendly. I tried my best to speak in my native tongue, though I'm sure I sounded off. She was quickly on to me, and actually asked me if I needed a fork lol! *SIGH* As planned, I ordered their Dolsot Bibimbap w/ Galbi...which came in a huge skillet with a ton of veggies (pre-mixed). I also added this Sweet Corn appetizer, so that I can throw it into the mix. As expected, the dish was quickly delivered...all piping hot! Also as expected, it looked and tasted quite delish (pre and after mixing!)...and fully authentic! They loaded you up with sauces so that you can make the dish as spicy as you want it to be. Well, all the veggies were fresh and the Galbi was good (though not as fully marinated as I like it). Although I thoroughly enjoyed the dish, I felt that the portion of Galbi was just too skimpy. This was a HUGE skillet, but mostly loaded with veggies...and way too light on the meat. I thought that was a shame...'cuz if they dropped just a few more Galbi meats in the mix, I would have gladly rated this 5 stars. However, I felt a bit ripped. Though a huge platter/skillet costing about 20 bucks, it was mostly veggies...and if I knew the meat portion was that small, I would have just ordered a Galbi dish on its own...as it would have costed about the same, I think? BTW, I enjoyed their complimentary soup, as well as their super-savory house salad, and Kimchi...in both regular and squared version. Overall, the foods were great...and the service was even greater? I would have easily given this place 5 stars, but there just wasn't enough Galbi meat in my dish! Sorry...but I have to dock a star.

Pleasantly surprised! It was late and my husband obviously didn't plan ahead so I was trying to find something I wanted to eat rather than CFA. I found Choi's Grill and it's sooo close by. We got the bulgogi soup and kimchi jjigae. Came with basic sides: salad, onions, and kimchi. The bulgogi soup was really good, came with some glass noodles and a side of rice. Husband really liked the salad and his soup was flavorful. Only downside was that meat was a bit tough. We had DoorDash credit so used DoorDash app but the guy working was helpful and told us it's cheaper to just call directly. We appreciate that! Will definitely be returning and plan to try their lunch time combos.

Not your typical kbbq joint. By that I mean they don't cook the meat in front of you, but they cook it in the kitchen and bring it out. Still though the meat is flavorful and has variety. The rest of the menu is some typical Korean dishes like tofu soup, bibimbap, seafood pancakes, to name a few. All dishes I've had there have been good and had plenty of flavor to it. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the area.

Food was great!! One of the best Kbbq places I've eaten at! Service was great as well! The food was fresh and delicious!

Doesn't seem like much when you walk in, just a standard korean restaurant. I usually love the part of cooking your own meats when I think of kbbq but these meats are precooked for you and brought out from the kitchen. I didn't mind at all since they were all well cooked and you get to eat a lot quicker that way. Meat quality and selection is above average, very good. Everything we had was tasty and enjoyable including the banchan, soup and sauces brought out as part of the set. There was only one lady serving when we went so service was a little slow but we were in no rush. Would definitely come back again, a nice place to grab a quick meal and drink.

Looking for a good Korean BBQ place that won't be ridiculously packed but still top notch quality?? Choi's Grill by Chef JK in Suwannee has better quality meat than other spots I've visited that are more popular and you won't have to "people" nearly as much! I think they aren't as busy because they are kind of hidden behind some restaurants in the Suwanee area but don't let that fool you, the service and food quality here are excellent!! You basically have two options here, you can either select an all you can eat option OR you can select a combo option. The ALL YOU CAN EAT options go from plan A which is $32 or plan B which is $54. The difference of course is the cut of meats you get to choose from (like filet mignon or premium short ribs and ribeeye steak). The COMBO options go from plan A which is $65, plan B which is $90 and plan C which is $120. The difference obviously being the quantity and types of meats they'll bring out all at once. What you see here is the plan A since I knew I would not be able to finish a plan B. The cuts of meat were excellent and very tasty. The plan included a very delicious and HOT cheesy corn plate, a bowl of soup (I believe it was kimchi) which was very delicious and very spicy. You of course get your rice alongside some other veggies to eat with the meat plate. My meat platter had pork shoulder, thinly sliced marinated pork, short ribs, pork belly, thinly sliced chuck rolls and premium beef brisket. I want to go back and try the all you can eat plan B so I can get some of their filet mignon and ribeye Fun place to visit with a group and have a good food feast. Check them out if you're in the area and want to try out some good Korean BBQ!! #rolieats #goodeats #goodfood #rolireview #suwannee #koreanbbq #choisgrillbychefjk #allthemeats #bigplates #allyoucaneat #fullbelly #happybelly #noregrets

I was excited to try this new local place, but it was disappointing. Although the menu items were authentic korean food, everything ended up being very sweet. I guess Chef JK has a sweet tooth. Usually kbbq places have a grill on every table. But this place, they cook and bring the meat to you. So I'm not sure how unlimited bbq would work. Lunch menu is $13.99 now. Side dishes were average, the green onion salad was the best side dish. Ramen - it was spicy in a good way, broth was good but the noodles were very thin, not your average ramen noodles. Marinated galbi - too sweet, but well cooked. I really liked how they put cuts in the meat, making it soft and chewy. Seok soe bulgogi was the best thing. It was sweet but not too sweet. Smelled delicious. Bibimmyun - again with the very thin noodles. I can not believe how sweet it was. I would not get this again nor would I recommend it to anyone. It also had mushrooms that did not go along with the bibimmyun. Mushrooms can be found in every meat dish, and every noodle dish I guess. It's good with meat, but not so much with noodles. I arrived hungry and excited, yet left disappointed.. I really wanted to like this place, but I won't be returning..

    Bulgogi Bibimbap was perfect!!
    Ken M.

I'll add my name to the list of great reviews and thank those who led me here. I have never had a better bibimbap and feel no need to keep looking. The egg was cooked perfectly and not overdone like many I've had. And I really liked the shallow pan it was served in that allowed for a higher % of crispy rice. Will be back to try the lunch Plan A or Plan B.

The shrimp were delicious and prepared just like I'm used to. This dish is lightly battered fried shrimp with a soy sauce bases sauce with red pepper and black pepper spices. It also features other sautéed veggies like green peppers and onions. The shrimp were spiced nicely, but also had the flavor of black pepper coming through. A lot of places don't get that right. The perfect mix of that spice red pepper heat and hint of black pepper are exactly why I love about this dish. The shrimp were fried perfectly and the veggies deliciously sauted. The Haemul Jjampong was a flavor and spice bomb. The broth was so flavorful and had a great essence of the seafood in it (squid, mussels, abalone). This soup is also for people not afraid of the spice...it was SPICY, but no so much that it was unenjoyable. The spice complemented the flavor and I loved it. The take-home of the leftovers was just as good the next day! If I had to say anything that they might think of changing, would be the addition of kimchi to the banchan. The banchan was ddanmuji (pickled radish, raw white onions, marinated white onion slivers, and soy marinated peanuts). A little plate mat kimchi to wrap around the Jjampong noodles would be perfection.

One of the standout things about this place is that they have DonPas. When we first heard of it, we though it would be fun to get. The donkatsu used for it is thin and fried well. The pork wasn't dry at all, and it was able to hold the pasta and its sauce while remaining crunchy though you definitely should eat it before the sauce truly sets in and changes the texture. For the pasta portion, we went with carbonara pasta, and it was good! Creamy and paired pretty well with donkatsu, which normally has a different type of sauce with it. We also got the UFO fried rice to share. It was filling, and I highly recommend it with egg, cheese, and corn over sauce. That being said, not a fan of the lot to get here.
