We like sitting at the bar. The bar tenders are friendly and attentive. During our last visit we decided to share an eggplant parm because we had a late lunch after skiing. We each had a salad and the shared eggplant was just enough. We did splurge for their carrot cake! OMG. It was sooo good - lots of nuts and raisins. My family and I have been visiting Killington from NYC for more than a decade now. It's one of our favorite places after traveling all over the USA. One of the central reasons that we continue to come back to this area is because of Choices Restaurant and the deliciousness that Chef Claude and his staff consistently deliver year after year. Some of our family's tried and true favorites are: Appetizers: -Escargot - Garlic, buttery & delicious! -Potato Pancakes Bar Harbor - A savory take on potato pancakes served with lox and apple sauce. -Bayou Fried Oysters - Tried this for the first time in 2016 and it's an amazing addition. The fried oysters are complimented with andouille sausage for a great favor and texture. -Lamb Chops- Chef Claude certainly knows what he is doing with the meat selections at choices. The lamb is prepared in a Greek style and the meat itself is flavorful and not too fatty. -Crab Cakes- So much crab meat!! Entrées: - Fettuccine with Smoked Salmon, Pea Pods, and Scallions ( Alfredo Style)- We have actually never encountered a similar dish in any other restaurant. It is such an unexpected but delicious combination that it has become my personal favorite. -Scallops Provencale - For those that love scallops, this is a must have. My mom has this every time. -Filet Mignon Saga- Delicious Filet Mignon medallions topped with blue cheese cream. - Duck Special (when available)- if it's on the specials menu, I'm getting it! Probably the best meal I have had in a long time. The lamb chops for an app. were delicious topped with feta cheese and olives. The veal with tomatoes and mozzarela..mmm mmm. This is as good as it gets in Killington. Chef Claude, Trish and everyone else make it a friendly, relaxing environment with the best food you can find in the area. The pasta is all homemade and fabulous; the calamari appetizer is divine; the rotisserie is great; and the medallians of calamari dish is other-worldly. You will want to lick the plate. Three of us attempted to go there for dinner without reservations. We were told it was a half hour wait so we gave it shot. After a half hour there had been no movement at all. The way stressed out hostess told us that most of their wait people had called out sick (not a good sign) and that she had no idea how long it might take to be seated. A good, though not great, reasonably priced, American restaurant in the Killington area. I ordered the rotisserie sampler; the three meats, chicken, stuffed pork and duck, were cooked to perfection and tastefully seasoned. My son ordered the smoked salmon fettuccine. The fettuccine is made on the premises and was well textured and substantial; the restaurant skimped on the smoked salmon, but what little there was was delicious. Just left here and wanted to immediately write about my amazing experience. My husband and I came to Killington for a night away and drove around for about an hour trying to pick where to eat. I am agoraphobic so just any crowded restaurant won't always do. We decided on Choices and are extremely happy we did. Our host hand picked "the perfect romantic table" for us. That small touch made a great first impression. They do good business, but I did not feel panicky or overwhelmed. Our waiter was very attentive and gave us time to work through the extensive menu. He offered recommendations but we never felt rushed. This chef knows what he is doing! This may be the best meal my husband and I have ever had! We shared the handmade fettuccini with Alfredo (primavera) and the sampler of rotisserie. We are not a fan of lamb so they even subbed us extra of the chicken and pork! My only regret is not leaving room for the dessert options. We were able to see a neighboring table when they were offered the tray and it all looked delicious! We WILL return and most likely bring friends and/or family. I wish I could give more stars, it was that good! Don't let the prices on the menu scare you, when all is said and done it came out to less than expected. Went there for dinner on a Thursday night. Quiet night business wise. Ordered chicken strip with bacon jam as an appetizer. The chicken was raw in the center. At the end of dinner, which was pretty good, the waiter offered a free dessert and removed the charge for the chicken. read more

This restaurant was great we dined at Prestons in Killington the night before and Choices Restaurant supersedes them 100 percent. The place is quaint the service is good and very welcoming. Probably one of the few restaurants at Killington that offers more than just the usual pub/tavern food that dominates the restaurant scene. The food was average overall but better than average when compared to the other choices for an apres ski dinner. My friend and I went to the bar for a drink and dessert and were put off by the rudeness of the staff with the exception of one. It's definitely for locals and they seem to like it that way. My wife and I chose this restaurant because it said the chef was a culinary institute graduate. I myself also a graduate. Although the service was attentive and pleasant. My boyfriend and I love fine dining, and we've eaten at some really nice restaurants in and around Boston, with that in mind, we were blown away by the experience we just had at Choices. The atmosphere was cozy without feeling crowded, and the service was definitely above par. My boyfriend has a service dog, and this is the smoothest restaurant experience we have ever had bringing her. We started with the smoked trout and salmon salad, which was a master class in perfect flavor combinations. For the soup course we both had a curried chicken soup; the curry was present, but not overwhelming. I usually don't like curry, but this was an exception worth making. For the main course I had the chicken medallions which were phenomenal, while my boyfriend had a sampler plate of three different rotisserie meats. All the meats were tender and juicy, and the sauce for each dish was perfect. For dessert we had a strawberry rhubarb pie, which was good, but was upstaged by the hazelnut mousse. The mousse was served in a soft spherical chocolate shell on top of a cake base (there were crunchy beads in the cake, I think tiny malt balls?) and garnished with a bourbon sauce similar to a light creamy caramel. My only complaint is that the serving were so large that we couldn't finish our entrees while still having room for desert. Definitely enough food despite sharing an appetizer. I cannot wait to heat up the leftovers tomorrow. We will be back in town next year for the Killington stage race, and we'll be bringing our friends. read more

THE MOST RUDE INCONSIDERATE STAFF! We called a month prior to our trip and were told to call day of to be put-on the list. We were a party of 16 with many kids. We were told to come and they will do their best. We showed up all16 with kids at 6 pm to find out they do not have the capacity to sit 16 side by side. When I said they should have told us when I called they seemed to not care and basically had a" this is how it is attitude." no one cared that we dragged 8 kids and 8 adults for nothing. We stop in Choices every time we're in Killington, and have never had a bad experience. The food is consistently high-quality and delicious, the staff friendly, and the location convenient. I always end up ordering the fettuccine Glazebrook because seriously, it is perfect. Handmade tri-color pasta, walnuts, prosciutto, chicken, shiitake, and broccoli, in olive oil (no heavy Alfredo sauce here), mmmm! My boyfriend, however, is not married to one menu item, so I've had the pleasure of trying the rest of the menu and it's excellent. Last time we were there we brought friends and one of them ordered the pumpkin pie martini. We were expecting a sugary drink, but instead got a creamy spiced cocktail that was decidedly not sweet, which was a delightful surprise. Great meal here! Friendly and lively vibe, lots of patrons coming and going from bar on a weekday night. Very friendly and efficient server, patient with our questions and accommodating to our requests. We enjoyed the house-made rolls, a nice spinach salad with goat cheese. We shared a generously portioned eggplant parmigiana with fresh pasta and it was delicious! Although I was satisfied with all that food, my husband couldn't resist the key lime pie, one of the several tempting options of homemade desserts. Tried this place based on positive yelp reviews. I also went onto their website and saw that the chef was classically trained. I went on a Thursday night at about 6:30pm, off peak, so there was no problem getting a table. The dining room is quaint, but could probably be updated. The server was super nice and very helpful. The menu had a little of everything: seafood, steaks, pasta and other 'american' fare. There was also several specials. Everything seemed reasonably priced. I ordered stuffed clams for appetizer ($8.5) and their rottiserrie combination ($23) The combo included chicken, lamb and apple bread stuffed pork loin. Entrees included a choice of soup or salad. The stuffed clams were okay. Way too much stuffing but they tasted fine. I was pleasantly surprised by the combo. The chicken was moist. The lamb was tasty as well, and came out med rare as I requested. The stuffed pork loin was also quite good. Moist with a flavorful crust. The stuffing was so so. The dish came with a side of mashed potatoes and fresh roasted veggies. Potatoes were okay and the veggies were cooked well. A nice meal for a reasonable price. At $33 for filet mignon, it was very small, and looked like it was baked, not grilled, although done right, just like I asked.
