We stopped by for lunch after hearing about a new Korean BBQ spot in the neighborhood. The restaurant had a bright, chic vibe, with a mix of tables--some with grills for barbecue and others for regular dining. Be sure to let them know if you're there for barbecue so they can seat you at the right table. We ordered the seafood pajeon (pancake) and the prime beef set for two. The pajeon was perfectly crispy and fluffy, with a great balance of seafood and veggies. The prime beef set was worth every penny--fresh, well-marbled ribeye, cooked tableside to our preferred doneness. It came with a comforting spread: steamed egg in a stone pot, soybean paste stew, rice, and plenty of banchan (side dishes). Our favorite sides were the radish, kimchi, and fish. To finish, we enjoyed refreshing Calpico yogurt drinks, which were the perfect palate cleanser after the hearty meal. We'll definitely be back for the stellar service and fresh meats. YAY YAY YAY! Korean bbq near us FINALLY!! We ordered the Choi's BBQ Platter for 3 people. Got unlimited sides and the soups were amazing and flavorful! Sides are great as well! Kinda pricey, we got steamed dumplings and the platter for almost $160. Not used to bbq with prices for each one but this can do especially if you're craving for bbq! The tea they served is also good taste like Rice Green tea. Staffs are attentive and the place is very clean, we were the only ones there. So far it's a nice place to try! read more

I've had a lot of Korean BBQ. NY, Seoul. This place is legit. Top quartile stuff. Great banchan, great meat, friendly staff. The headline prices up in Mahopac might scare some people off but your getting a ton of Banchan. Staff was great to deal with my daughters allergies and communicate what she couldn't eat. Some of the best kimchi I've had from a guy that doesn't love kimchi. It's a super fun place to take your kids. My five year old loved it. read more

What an amazing Korean BBQ and in Upper Westchester County, Mahopac, NY, wow! Growing up in Somers was not very diverse as far as food, sure there were and are great Italian food, Chinese take out, Deli's, Pizza and Bagels, but no Korean BBQ or Korean Supermarkets, only in Flushing Queens ! I have met all 3 servers here, Elias, Mathew and Alina, all really nice, hard working and friendly! I met the owner of the property last week and the owner of Choi's BBQ yesterday! The barchan side dishes are fresh and amazing and the kimchi jjjigae stew is the best i have ever had anywhere, and ai live in Southern California and have been to South Korea! This place is so different! The dining experience is very cool! You can either order from the menu and dine normally, or sit at one of their little gas grill tables and cook your own food (or the wait staff will do it as well). Everything was excellent! We did the largest meat platter and let the waitress start the cooking process which we did for ourselves later. The meat was exceptionally fresh and red and the platter came with an inordinate amount of tiny side dishes. We didn't have the Bulgogi and with the amount of tiny sides (which I don't even know 'what' we ate), we were fine. They will refill the little sides as they really are small portions. Strangely (and unnecessarily) was a side of macaroni salad! Enjoyed the Korean beer too. Highly recommend. At least the way we ordered, this was a little pricey of a meal, but a great experience and we will definitely return. Like I said, you can traditionally dine or do it yourself. I hope people will patronize this place! I could see this being a very fun family restaurant (think fondue), but again, just a bit pricey. read more

We went when they were open for a couple of months already on a Saturday. The lady that greeted us was not happy that we were just walking in without a reservation. She was reluctant to even seat us for non-barbecue. Another couple that came after us said they did not have a reservation but were seated for barbecue. We have been to Korean barbecue in Queens and even Westchester without a reservation so we were excited to try this place which is closer to home now that we moved out of the city. The quality of the side dishes was better than numerous restaurants in k-town, the egg app was delicious and bigger than expected. this is hands down one of my favorite place to eat in westchester. i have been to most of the korean bbq's in westchester, nyc, and new jersey but the quality of the service here is unmatched. price is on par for most korean restaurants, however, the food quality and quantity is amazing. banchan is fresh and always changing, the made in house kimchi is simply perfect. their non bbq items make me feel like i'm back in seoul enjoying a much needed jjigae after a long night of drinking in hongdae. the staff are all so welcoming and amazing which truly enhances the experience. i find myself here once if not twice a week and i strongly encourage everyone else to give it a go. well worth the trip! read more

We were four and ordered the Premium Beef Platter Brisket/Prime Ribeye/Marinated Ribeye for 2 and the Bulgogi/Pork Bulgogi/ Chicken for 2. It comes with many small sides, soup & dipping sauces. I've worked as a meat cleaver for years, so I know a good hunk of flesh when I taste it. Typically on Friday night, me and my chunky buddies hit up the freshest beef, chicken and pork shops for a little RNR. Chois had been on our list for a long while and finally, after a particularly rigorous day shaving kebab, I called them up and said "YO, IT'S CHOI TIME DUDES!". We got there and from the first second that smoky aroma wrapped it's arms around me I knew we had made the right choice. We proceeded to feast like the animals we were eating. The bulgogi was succulent and sweet, the short rib to the point, the kimchi stew warmed my belly and soul. Even the Korean music videos being played on the walls put me in the spin cycle. I turned to my buddy Michael at one point and was like "how are we gonna bicycle home from this? I'm ready to burst!" And he turns to me, a mouth full of rice and just blurts out, "I wanna live at Chois! This place rocks my socks!!!". I agreed. He asked our very kind waiter if there was any space to rent out in the place, I chimed in that he was joking and Michael rebuked me, pretty hard, that he was indeed not joking. The waiter handled the request properly and told Michael that, no, it's a restaurant, not a place to live. He was embarrassed and disappointed that his request was rejected, but like, who cares? We hopped on our hogs after and sped out of there like fat falling fast off a bone. Will definitely come back to Chois, if we're allowed back. 5 STARS! read more
