I was looking for somewhere to grab lunch when I spotted a place I hadn't noticed before. I placed a pickup order so I wouldn't go over my lunch break, and it was ready even quicker than I expected! Me: "It's my first time here! When did you guys open?" Employee: "12 o'clock." Me (smiling): "No... I mean since when?" Employee (putting the pieces together): "Oh... three years." How hilarious..lol I ordered the Premium Dosirak with spicy chicken as my protein, along with an order of fried chicken dumplings. The white rice was fluffy, slightly sticky, and had that fresh, clean taste. Everything was wrapped in plastic wrap, which kept it from spilling during the drive. The spicy chicken just wasn't for me. I was expecting more heat, but the sauce leaned sweet and tangy, and I personally don't like sweet sauces on my protein. The dosirak also came with kimchi, fish cake, pickled sides, and soft tofu soup. I know those are favorites for a lot of people...it's just not my preference, and I ended up tossing the soup. By the time I was full, I planned to save the rest for later, but my container didn't come with a lid, so I had to throw away about half of the chicken and some of the rice. The fried chicken dumplings were okay. The filling was finely ground chicken, but the seasoning reminded me a bit of chicken bouillon, and the wrapper had more of an egg roll texture than a traditional dumpling. Although this meal wasn't the best fit for my personal taste, the pickup was quick, and I'd definitely give them another shot. Next time, I'll order something that better matches my taste. read more

Our server was incredibly patient, as it was our first time, and he gave some great recs. When it came time actually cook the food that was a bit nerve wrecking, as it can get very hot. Love Meet has a very attracting sign outside.. ALL YOU CAN EAT. AYCE! AYCE! My group of friends saw this place at different sections of time within a 10 minute span and all decided that we should visit at another time. The place we made plans to visit couldn't accommodate us so here we were! It was such a gain! We waited a short bit of time for the table and perused the menu. Set A is available for $42.99 with a generous set of meats or Set B at $47.99 with those same meats + NY Strip Steak and seafood. The whole party has to get the same thing so it's best to decide before arrival. The set also comes with all the sides. We started with chicken teriyaki and spicy followed by steak and ribs. We also requested for sides that suited our tastes. The servers are kind and offered to cook for us as well. They also change out the grills often enough. I would definitely, definitely come back here again. Tip: the sides come in portions of one so order more. It also would be best to ask for portions of 2 or more for the meats for a group size of 4-5 so you can try them all. read more

My friend and I decided to meet up for food and we saw this place on the map. It had high rating and we're both into Korean barbecue so decided to check it out. When we made it to the restaurant, it's two stories with the bottom level being the bar and the upper level being the Korean barbecue area. We were shown to a table and given a menu. Our nice waitress went over how it all works. They brought out our food. We started off with some pork belly, spareribs, rice, and some veggies. They also brought out four types of sauces. The thing I thought was a little weird is their hot sauce was just Sriracha, which really isn't hot if you like hot sauce. unlike a traditional Korean barbecue in my ideas you make your own food. This place comes up and they kind of make your food for you and it makes you feel rushed. Add to the fact that the waitress was kinda rushing us along, which made it sort of awkward. We were catching up before we decided to order and she kept coming back every couple of minutes saying "are you ready to order? Are you ready to order? Are you ready to order?" It was a little annoying. Although the food was good, it was a little on the expensive side for just Korean barbecue. The place I go to in Florida, which is barbecue and hot pot, you can eat for two people and it's $60 but myself and the person I ate with ended up paying about $60 a piece before tip. We went with a party of 6, for a birthday party and it was not quite as expected. Even though we ordered the more expensive meal for our entire table, they started with the less expensive cuts. Various meats we had asked for were burnt (and not recooked), and other meats not cut off the bone or into edible pieces - essentially, about 3/4 way through dinner our server was done - even though we weren't. Additionally, despite knowing that we were a party of six, they did not bring out enough of certain sides to cover all at the table. For the price of the meal, the automatic tip applied (whether or not you feel it's deserved) and the 3% credit card fee, the "experience" isn't quite what I expected. read more

Fun experience! We came for restaurant week for the $30 dinner experience on a Thursday - we got seated quickly without wait but there was a good amount of people there too! Service was friendly, it was family friendly - we got a high chair for our toddler and he was entertained by the cooking area. Food was good, we enjoyed the beef brisket and bulgogi beef the most. We did street parking right outside on the street ($3 for 2 hr meter) but otherwise you may need to walk a bit from a local lot. Love Meat in Stamford ticked all the boxes for a great all-you-can-eat Korean BBQ restaurant. Two hours of grilled bbq meats along with banchan, stews, and side dishes. Love Meat offers two meal plans of AYCE. We opted for Set A at $42. The meal we chose offered enough variety of Korean side dishes, stews where we didn't feel the need to go with the higher priced Set B meal option. At no time did we have to call a server to our table. They were pleasant and came to the table often to grill the meats, fill our water glasses, ask if we wanted more dishes. We really enjoyed ourselves and never felt rushed although keep in mind as we were not watching the clock - it's a 2 hour maximum all you can eat. We did not go over our time limit but that wasn't because of good planning. Just luck. We like to wrap the meats inside the lettuce leaves which is about the only thing we had to ask for. Asked and received. The grill was replaced often, maybe 4 or 5 times. I enjoyed the SSAMJANG paste, salt and sesame oil/soy dipping sauce options on the meats that weren't already marinated. When you want to indulge in flavorful Korean barbecue I highly recommend #lovemeatstamford. What the 3 of us ordered: Thin sliced brisket Marinate beef short ribs Marinated been ribeye beef Berkshire pork belly Spicy pork short rib Corn-cheese Teok-bokki Fried Dumplings - pork Steamed eggs Two orders of Pork Kimchi Stew The Soju was $15 a bottle, we ordered an Strawberry and an Apple Mango. Soju price was higher than I've been charged in other Korean restaurants but perhaps the quality was better. I'm no Soju expert so really can't say. We enjoyed it. The meal was both satisfying and a great way to celebrate my daughters upcoming birthday. My favorites were the marinated beef short ribs, ribeye, cheese corn and steamed egg. Although it was all good those were my standouts. We did not order any chicken which was also available at Set A, not fish on this option. Fish and more side dishes are offered on Set B. Love meat is an awesome Korean BBQ place. They have two menus Menu A which includes pork, chicken and beef. Menu B includes everything from Menu A plus a ribeye steak and seafood (shrimp, octopus). You chose what you want to cook and they bring it out. The grill is small so you can't put a bunch of meat on at the same time and that's a good thing. The beef was really tender and you didn't have to cook it for a long time. The chicken was also tender so you didn't have to cook it for long. The pork belly looked like bacon but when it was done it had a different texture that was really good. The staff was very helpful and they came around and turned the meat for you and let you know when it was ready. The options for sides was extensive. I opted for the Korean fried chicken, rice and dumplings. Everything was unlimited - but how much could you really eat in 2hrs The meat fills you up very fast especially the steak. The drinks were average I had some type of peach alcoholic drink and a red sangria. Best thing about the drinks is that it's happy hour everyday - 50% off. Between each meat the tray on the grill was changed so keep it nice and clean. The atmosphere of the place is very cute and so much fun to go with friends. You can pick between different types of menus but have to stick with the one you pick because they're different prices. The only con I had was the fact that I got charged $10 for two sprites. There's alot i have to say about this newly opened authentic korean restaurant, definitely a home to all meat lovers (korean food foodies). Currently it's soft opening price for buffet is $34.99 per person (1 free drink included - selection of soda, ginger root beer, & tea). The kitchen closed at 9pm for now, very nice environment, great service, clean restrooms (two of them), parking outside the store is free after 8pm. Let's start talking about the food, the basic appetizers came out with onions, fish cake (yummy), broccoli, radish, homemade fermented kimchi (very rich in flavor), Kimchi stew has lots of kimchi and big chunks of tofu (hard), sour not too spicy i like it. Tofu stew... it's not silky soft tofu, more like regular tofu but taste great. Small portion goes well with the buffet you don't want to drink a huge pot of soup. Pork Fried dumplings so crunchy outside, melt in the mouth so good. Not so much filling but it's ok. One order comes with 3 so just good amount to share. Spicy rice cake & fish cake.. i like the fish cake, the rice cake is a bit too soft not so chewy... It is better when it's cold. The sauce is good tho, so i ordered extra side dish fish cake to dump into the sauce. Spicy fried chicken is crispy outside soft and juicy inside. It's a small chicken chunks, it's not too strong spicy/sweet flavor..not Overkilling the taste buds... It still turn out good. I bet it goes well with rice. I'm excited to see they have Steam egg custard, it's a bit more salty than i had in Queens, still good and must have. The BBQ meat my top picks: Marinaded beef ribs no bones attached..yay.. thick slice .. very tender even it's cooked well done, next time i will cook it myself for medium rare. Pork Belly thick slice Pork jowl must have .. Thin sliced marinaded beef (Remember to ask for sliced fresh garlic to go with the meat) I've been to all Korean restaurant in city/ queens and some restaurants are too sweet on the marinade, i love this restaurant not adding too much sugar/honey to the meat! For this price it's definitely good quality of meat! I cant wait when they add seafood pancakes/soju to the menu, and they will have lunch specials non buffet menu coming soon. I found this restaurant via Yelp and saw that it had really great reviews and decided to visit with my family who lived in Port Chester since it was a short drive away from them. I'm originally from NYC so I am comparing my experience with Koreatown BBQ restaurants. To cut to the chase, I was really disappointed with the quality of the food here. The kimchi from the banchan (side dishes) was really lacking in spice. It tasted like severely watered down kimchi which is abysmal. I'm not sure if the restaurant is toning down the spice and acidity to cater to the local clientele but my store bought kimchi had a better kick to it. Kimchi did not taste authentic whatsoever. The teriyaki chicken was not marinated with any flavor so that was also disappointing. The marinated short rib was delicious and the only food item I enjoyed. The spicy squid was over cooked and made all the tentacles super chewy and tough to eat. They bring it out to you on a hot plate which continues to sizzle and thus overcooks the squid. You can cook the meat yourself as they leave the tongs at the table. The restaurant as a whole is huge and spacious and you don't feel crowded and close to other patrons. They don't have a ventilation hose/ hood to suck up the fumes so it's good that the restaurant itself is spacious enough to prevent the smoky clouds that can happen when you barbecue. Overall, I didn't enjoy the meal exactly. It was just okay. I wish their kimchi was real kimchi with proper spice levels. The kimchi I had was soggy, no crunch, not as fresh, and not spicy at all. I wish their meat was marinated better and that the quality of their meats weren't so bland and sad. I personally wouldn't come back. You can stop by K-town in NYC and experience the highest quality meats and a more authentic tasting Korean barbecue. This spot was disappointing and has space for many improvements just starting with their food alone. Staff and space were great! Food, needs a lot more love and work. Never got to try this spot when it was Bullpan Korean but as an AYCE joint now - one word: yikes. For this price I'd expect better quality foods particularly meat. We tried every type of meat they offer once and if you insist on coming here, stick to the marinated meats. The others are so bland. But either way it didn't help that the grills weren't oiled so the cheap meat was just sticking to the grills and they had to change the grills so often. Ironically when we finally gave up on ordering more meat, the grill finally was switched out to an oiled one. Even the unlimited sides are just meh. Tteokbokki was odd (sauce so thick and the rice cakes aren't traditional long ones or flat ones. More gnocchi/dumpling like in shape), japchae is average with noodles a little over cooked, and corn cheese was one of the few solid dishes. My favorite part of the meal was the banchan (starter dishes) & the alcohol (Makgeolli). I don't know if Bullpan just had a facelift and changed its business model to be AYCE or it's a complete ownership change but I guess I'll still be popping over the border into NY or even heading into the city for much more affordable and superior quality a la carte/AYCE Korean BBQ. read more

This was a pretty good AYCE spot in CT. We don't have many like this here. You can choose from menu A (42.99) or B (47.99) for your meat options, menu B just has more seafood options. We went with B and got a bunch of seafood and meats. I do recommend going here in a larger group so you can try more items. You have a list of appetizers to pick from too as well as vegetables. They come with your typical Korean sides as well. Service was pretty fast. They did say that they normally cook it for you but I knew what I was doing so they just let me cook it.
