Food was so good and fresh. I loved how we were able to pick whatever we wanted. I can't wait to go back, as I absolutely love Korean food.

In general it's not as good as the one in Danbury, less selection and all the meat don't have any taste, very disappointed. Food very very bland.... Same to the Crab legs overcooked and tasteless. Not many seafood selection for bbq/hotpot. Pineapple very sour, looks not ripe yet. We had hotpot and bbq. There's always missing items especially the meat, not giving much veggies for you very small bunch (few strings watercress) for 5 pp(seriously!) then I figured regardless you add 1 or 5 they give you same amount, long wait too. We just end up feelin " begging for food" because you have to keep ordering to get some food to show up, unlike the experience we had in Danbury. I'd rather drive over there to have a better attentive meal. It's so obvious they failed to performe like a buffet especially there's comparison i had in Danbury and harsdale, NY and New Jersey locations. Service is slow even in a weekday. The person cleaning the table is doing good job, other than that, no one comes over unless we ask for it. Honestly in Danbury they keep coming over to either change the gril (so it doesn't get all the char)l or adding soup because they dry up quickly in small pot and no missing items. And also someone cares your experience.... It was also a birthday celebration night. Unfortunately the overall experience is not pleasant, food quality is below the standard. What is it with hot pot places and space themes? Like Three Hotpot Barbecue in Midtown Manhattan, Hungry Pot is decorated with astronauts and other vaguely lunar-themed paraphernalia. Cute? Weird? Non-sequitur? For reasons other than the decor, Hungry Pot is hard to review. It's the only hot pot place I know of in this part of Connecticut, and therefore worthy of praise and support. We so appreciate this as an option especially since my family is currently obsessed with hot pot, and especially as the weather cools down enough to make hot pot enjoyable to eat. But perhaps unsurprisingly for an all-you-can-eat restaurant, the quality isn't always of the highest tier. The broths are a weak point. All of the ones we tried were noticeably sweet and made with a low brow bouillon powder, which I personally cannot enjoy. (I have the same aversion to margarine.) Hot pots are for each individual and not shared, which the kiddos like. I personally prefer a communal hot pot at the center of the table, but I suppose this style of dining allows for greater choice. Among our party, we had the Thai Tom Yum (pescatarian); Healthy Herbs; Spicy Asian (essentially the same as the "healthy" herbs with chilis added); and the Szechuan spicy (not that spicy by our standards and without much, if any, mala Sichuan peppercorns). Vegetables were extremely fresh, however, especially the spinach, and we were happy to find fresh bamboo shoots on offer, though they were a touch gristly. Animal proteins (sliced ribeye, beef tongue, prime brisket and sliced lamb in our case) were for the most part thinly sliced and of fair to good quality, not overly fatty. The Pardner's sliced pork was far too thickly sliced for this kind of preparation. Tofu options were somewhat limited, but the kiddos enjoyed their yuba and fried tofu rolls per usual. I loved the quail eggs. The condiment bar was enormous and fun, with so many options, including fresh fruit (yay!), two kinds of kimchi (napa cabbage and cucumber), wakame seaweed salad, mesclun, French fries (surprisingly good for this kind of set up -- but unfortunately, the kiddos wanted to fill up on these), and SNOW CRAB LEGS. And some sort of tres leches-y type of cake. The crab legs totally won me over -- even though I couldn't figure out how to extract the meat for a while, with only my chopsticks and bare hands at my disposal. Eventually, I had to ask our (incredibly nice, but very busy) server for a crab shell cracker. No picks were offered, but I managed to make do with a chopstick. The cake totally won the kids over. Including the older than 40 one. This is a fun experience, not overly high brow. Prices are quite fair, however, to my understanding ($32.99 for adults at dinnertime, $16.99 for children 7-10). And our server, Xiaoping, was extremely gracious and kind, though she seemed to be spread quite thin across a large number of demanding tables. It's busy on weekends at dinnertime, and there are no reservations taken, but we did not have to wait more than a few minutes for a table. I'm probably too old and my appetite too small to really be all in on these kinds of AYCE places. (Quality over quantity wins at some point as one ages.) I have been here before and wasn't thrilled but thought I'd give this place another chance. It's pretty basic but a fun experience. The hot pot is good especially if you have a cold. The BBQ is decent but you know, your standard fanfare. I found the space motif kind of strange but I am there to eat. Go hungry so you get your money's worth. We tried quite the spread here! This restaurant is pretty big (I only think so coming from the city) and we were really quickly seated on a weekend during lunchtime. The staff were super friendly and constantly checked in with us, switching the grill and cleaning out plates. We did both bbq and hotpot, and it was amazing. First of all, their sauce bar is definitely the best I've seen! They have all the sauces and some premade ones, any combination is sure to be delicious! I also ate lots of their crab legs, which were decently sized and sooo yummy. The bbq meat was pretty good, but my favorite was definitely the marinated short ribs. What a difference in service and ambiance. I would give 5 stars during the weekend but two to three stars during the week. I don't know what bring the huge difference. I loved it. I am southern tho and I miss seafood boils. If you don't like food in a plastic bag there are various options. You can do a Korean bbq or the hot Pot options where they bring a ton of food to the table and you cook it in a pot or on a grill. The service was great. Fast easy. I visited with a group of friends and four kids (ages 2.5 to 5). Seating a group of 8+ was a bit tricky, but the staff made it work and were careful around the kids, even with the hot plates and boiling broth. The restaurant has a fun, space-themed vibe (moon ceiling lights and a big astronaut at check-in). Ordering is done on an iPad, but be warned--everything comes out at once, even if there's limited table space! We chose the Korean BBQ from the three AYCE options (hot pot and crab boil are also available). While it's not authentic Korean BBQ, the variety and portions make it worth it. The short ribs and pork cheeks were the highlights for me. Drinks aren't included, but there's a great selection of bubble teas, soju, and sake. So I was initially very excited to hear a Korean BBQ / Hot pot place finally located in CT. I grew up in Northern NJ and was used to some great Korean Restaurants and BBQ. Let me tell you this is not it. I guess if you never had great Korean BBQ or hot pot you can be tricked into thinking this is great. But it's not. Let me break it down. The ordering system just sucks. In NJ, the shabu shabu places only take order for your drinks and the meats/fish. Everything else is self serve. You get to pick your own vegetables, noodles, fish cake, side dishes, dessert, sauces....the sky is the limit. But here you have to order it through the servers. It's a major hassle. The 4 of us decided to do the hot pot. We picked the Hungry Pot soup base...I'm not really sure what that was. It looked like old paint water. The meat for the hot pot was okay. But they cut it way too thin... it's supposed to be a specific thickness. The meat portions are also very small. And when you want more you have to track down the server to get more meat. Although the quality of the meat was okay I found the overall quality of the sides to be way below par. The shrimp dumplings were terrible and this takes the cake. FAKE SPAM. Come on man. In what world do you serve fake spam. I grew up eating spam. I love spam. But fake Spam? No freaking thank you. It's the first time saying this... but whatever was served doesn't do Spam justice. If you want to see hot pot done right, go to Garden Shabu in Little Ferry NI. And for BBQ goto Seoul BBQ in New Britain. Hungry pot was just overall an absolute disappointment. I have to start off by saying Xavier our server was Amazing. So patient he had to explain the process to us twice and we had many question. Every person from the hostess to bus boys were very service minded. Hungry Pot is the new sensation in Danbury CT that opened Monday May 12th. Hungry Pot is all You can eat, with three choices for cuisines - Cajun Seafood Boil, Korean BBQ, and Hot Pot. Ask your server but I believe there is a time limit for ordering. My husband and I did both the Korean BBQ and Hotpot. Each person at the table chooses their options for each food type. Each option has - beef, chicken, pork, seafood protein choice, vegetable choices, then noodles, rice, and dumpling choices. You do have the option to choose one item from every category. All the items are brought to your table raw or frozen for You to include in your hotpot or grill on the BBQ. The Hot pot is a soup based meal. There are five or six choices for your soup base. The soup is brought out in a pot and put on the small burner show in my pics.Then You choose options to add to the soup base. While your waiting for your food to cook to arrive off to the side their is a help yourself area for all types of sauces, herbs, and spices. In the same area as the sauces there are spring rolls and crispy chicken to eat almost as an appetizer. What kept Hungry Pot from being five stars? The sauces were out in a bar with ladles. Then a small sign was on top of the bar with a diagram of the sauce names. When You have people waiting behind You its hard to really look at the signs. Also many many people are touching those ladles and they are not constantly being changed. I think a series of squeeze bottles with waterproof labels maybe quicker and less of a germ factor. I have a few suggestions for others that I did not know being a 1st timer. When the staff comes around and asks if you want the plate on the grill changed? After You have grilled a few things have them change it. My husband kept saying No and I feel like it affected the food taste. My next suggestion find out if You are able to use the sauces on the grill? Or if the sauces are just for dipping? I felt like we put our server through so many questions I could not ask him another thing. Several birthdays were going on while we dined. If you're looking for AYCE, this is a nice spot. There's never a line. The food comes quickly. And there's a nice sauce buffet area with some apps and dessert. Our kid eats at half price which makes us say yes to coming here more often. My only complaint is that when they gather the used dishes from the table, they dump it into a bin a few feet away from you. It really ruins the ambience. It's noisy and disruptive. Plus there's trash out there that you're eating beside. I think it makes it easier for the waiters to not have to walk into the kitchen, but it really ruins the atmosphere. I'd add a star to make it 4 if/when they solve this and move the dirty dish + trash dump to the inside of the kitchen and not the dining area. read more

This place is still new, so everything looks clean, and the moon that's on the ceiling is a very interesting ambiance. Just for the experience, my son and I had got both barbecue and hot pot. Omg what a s....show! We were new to this type of restaurant, we had to know what we wanted to eat before we sat down. We have never been to a restaurant like this, so we had no idea what the protocol was. The service was terrible, they forgot to even tell us that the "salad"bar was included with our meals. Myself and one other received our food within 10 minutes after we "finally" ordered. My friend and I finished cooking and eating our food within 45 minutes, and my husband's all you can eat seafood has still not arrived ,so we waited.....And waited,and waited. Finally, when it came out an hour or so later, they threw the seafood boil it him. They gave him a bathroom garbage can with a bag in it for his shells. Needless to say we left without him eating it. On a positive note, they didn't charge him for it, I think as they could see, they had pushed him to his limit. Oh, and be careful when you walk in the restaurant, the floors are extremely greasy! Came here for a birthday with a big group. I will say everyone seem to enjoy it and ate well. I tried several different pieces of meat and shrimp and did not care for it all. I found the meat to be greasy, and the meat selection with seasoning was not to my liking at all. I will say that my friends asked for different types of meat, fish several different times and our waiters were completely pleasant and brought out whatever they asked. Finally got to try this place and enjoyed it. It was busy for Friday dinner but our server was great. Attentive and kept checking on us if we need anything. We had the Korean bbq and hotpot. Korean bbq was good, not the best but not bad. Hot pot special house broth was perfect for me, tasty and not salty. Now, I can't vouch for the quality of meats they serve but it's all you can eat, they're not going to give you the best quality cuts etc. although, I thought the short rib, bulgogi and smoked pork belly were marinated well. You can always ask for more meats, seafood and vegetables. We enjoyed the bokchoy, enoki and oyster mushroom, kimchi and pickled radish was good. Tried this for the first time - we all had the hot pot with a variety of "additions" we each tried different broths: spicy broth, pork broth, miso and chicken. All were good except the chicken broth was bland and relatively tasteless. All of the other broths were full of flavor and delicious. The additions included pork belly, ribeye, octopus, calamari, shrimp, cabbage, seaweed (a few different kinds) lobster balls, fish cakes, dumplings, rice cakes. All were good, probably would skip the lobster balls and rice cakes in the future as they were filling and didn't add much for our taste. Noodles were Udon and vermicelli "glass") noods- both were good, although in this, I prefer the vermicelli noods. For four people and tip the bill was around $180. We plan to go back and try the Korean BBQ...overall a neat place, clean, good interactive meal, that really engaged the family in conversation, and quality bonding time. read more

But we still go all the time bc it's fun and can accommodate many different types of eaters. It's unlimited; and I swear sometimes you order certain things; and they just bring you the standard order. So if something is not there, just ask one of the many friendly staff. They also have tons of crab legs now at the sauce station. They are missing a ton of options that you would get at a hot pot place in for example Flushing; but for Danbury; it seems like it works! As someone from the south, I've already experienced the best and unfortunately this place is not as much as people hyped it up to me. When we first came in. We was not greeted kindly. He didn't seem like he wanted to work, no effort. Kind of mean. He did not explain how to use the hot pot grill if you've never used it before. Thankfully there is a video in the middle of the restaurant that shows you how. He also never turned on our grill so we was confused there. When it came to my seafood, he never gave me the utensils I needed (gloves, apron, etc) My partners hot pot was standard. Can't really go wrong with hot pot. The broth wasn't spicy in her opinion. The alcoholic drinks not good for price standards. We received our drinks 15 min after we started eating our main meal. The all you can eat seafood special sauce was not specialThe lemon pepper was better than that. We both had clams and tasted too much sand while eating them. Our serve never came to check on us. I even saw him walk outside and not come back in, which had us asking another server to get our bill. If you leave a review you get free boba or drink.. that's how they trick you. If you do the Hotpot but also want to try the KBBQ you can it just $5 extra. The food selections for the HP & KBBQ are good enough for the suburb. The condiment station was plentiful. The best bang for your all you can eat strategy is to avoid Raman, udon & rice. These are the quick fillers after consuming them there is very little left for the veggies & various protein. Service was good. Staff come by often to remove any empty or spoiled dishes. All the flavor was good not to over powering. The seating was not crowded with plenty of space to move about. where do i even begin, the wait time was way longer then initial time they mentioned, when I went to check on my name they mentioned they had text me which I never received a text. i had asked to check the number and the person at the front desk entered my number incorrectly. They finally seated us after almost a hour wait. To sit us at a small table, when there was a booth available. We asked if we can sit at the booth and the waiter gave an attitude complaining he had to many tables to wait on. we still had to wait another 15 mins just to see the waitress to enter in our order. It took another 15 mins just for the starter get to the table, when we noticed the order was wrong, we didn't mentioned anything at that point, and just waited for the entrees to come. but unfortunately we had to wait almost 30-40 minutes just for that. When it finally arrived, it was a huge disappointment to notice that the order was mixed up and wrong again. At that point we was fed up and left. From arriving to the restaurant at 6:30 to almost 9pm and still was waiting was ridiculous. I wouldn't recommend this place at all. If I can give it zero stars I would. read more
