This restaurant falls into the mid range cost burger spot with five guys and the like. With that said it was very delicious and what I think is a good option in that price range. I got the chicken sandwich and my wife got the garlic burger. Both were very tasty and filling. The fried chicken sandwich said it had a spicy sauce in it but I didn't really pick up much heat. The latest restaurant in a long list of places to occupy this exact location is CHOM burger. I've heard via them grapevine that it's the same core set of owners that keep opening up restaurants in different genres of food and when one doesn't work out, new name, new type of food, same location--but who knows. We gave this place a shot for lunch yesterday. There's a good menu and I was very optimistic as most of the reviews are positive! We got kids grilled cheeses, a couple of burgers and fries, shake etc. There's an option to add extras to your burgers like an egg, onions, extra patties etc. So we asked for an extra patty but for it to be " on the side" so I could cut it up and feed it to my young toddler... The girl behind the counter went to go consult the kitchen staff and then came back and said "no, we can't do that"..Umm what? She said they could make him a complete lettuce wrap burger tho. Uhh...I didn't see the difficulty in frying an extra patty and instead of putting it ON the burger we ordered, putting it next to it but apparently that's not allowed. The entire place from order takers to kitchen staff appear to be teenagers so I guess I wasn't overly surprised. No big deal. But on to the food: The burger toppings and sauces were tasty, the buns and ingredients fresh, the flavor combinations were great--but the entire experience was undone by the cheap, straight from the bag burger patty's. You can instantly tell these are frozen, delivered by Sysco, made in a factory, full or fillers and cheap cuts of meat and its highly disappointing. It really undid the whole meal sadly. With so many burger joint options, this might be the undoing of a place like this where the competition are making them from scratch or at least using a better meat product. We chatted about the fact we might not go back, given if you're spending $60-70 on a family meal, nearby places like JCWs, Cubby's etc just are using better quality meats. read more

Great food , clean dining room and bathrooms and a friendly service from the employees made this spot awesome. We had the BBQ Bacon Cheese Burger and the Green Chili Avocado Burger. It was awesome. I love a good burger. Fortunately, there are lots of options in the mid-priced burger market (Five Guys, Smash Burger, Apollo, Habit). So a new player really needs to be at the top of their game and offer something new if they want to survive. Sadly, this is not the case here. My CHOM burger was undercooked--there was no crust, the middle was pink, and the sandwich was far too salty. There is nothing special about the CHOM sauce. So this is new to the area, and we went in with a hungry fat man! I ordered the the spicy serrano burger, and the pastrami burger, yes I ate both of them. They where great tasting burgers! Family had the chom burgers and the fried chicken sandwich. Fries where very tasty and so where sweet potato fries. It is a very nice atmosphere and the place was way nice. My only complaint was we ordered and they did mess up my order, shorted drinks and fries. For the price it was way expensive for sure. There is more good than bad, like I said they messed up on my order, they did not fix it, way to busy to fix which is understandable. I will go back for sure. Thanks for everything, also don't forget to get your shakes. If the business owner reads this, it would be nice to have the burgers in combos with fries and drink. I've eaten at CHOM a dozen or so times. Each of their burgers can stand on its own as a meal, but I do like adding fries to share. The service is middle of the road and I feel like that could add more sauces like a Boise Fry Company, but otherwise CHOM delivers good burgers at reasonable prices. read more

I have a rule about burgers. If you could remove the beef patty without changing the overall flavor, it's not a burger. It's a sandwich. In CHOM's case, removing the beef might actually *improve* the experience. Their beef pucks are pasty and mostly flavorless. And they get little strings of beef stuck in your teeth. But everything else is pretty dang good. The bun, the sauce, the trimmings, all are really tasty and well-made. Honestly, the contrast is intense. Every bite is three-quarters fresh and delicious, one-quarter boiled #2 pencil. As a sandwich, delicious. As a burger, very mediocre. Especially for the price. Hey, I like sandwiches. If a friend wants to eat here I'll come with them. I just wish sandwich places would be sandwich places. Don't smack a frozen patty onto a perfectly good sandwich just so you can call yourself a burger joint, eh? Maybe next time I'll try the chicken. read more

Hard to find a burger that is a little different but their pastrami burger is awesome. The pastrami is actually smoked and it really enhances the flavor. I'm a bonafide burger freak. So I had to give this place a shot eventually. I came in around dinner time with the family and there wasn't much of a wait. I think there were 3-4 other families eating at the time. We got our food served up within 15 minutes, pretty impressive for a made to order burger joint. I grabbed the burger with the spicy Serrano burger which was turned out to be a two hander and quite a mess once I got to the end of it. Nice and spicy, but was missing some sweet to lighten it up. There wasn't a clean place to sit. The windows are dirty. They didn't appear to be short staffed. The restaurant is not busy. We tried to clean our own table and seats, but the napkin dispenser had no napkins and was full of old French fries. Floors are filthy everywhere. Wow! These burgers are soooooo tasty!! My husband got the garlic burger and I had the blue cheese with bacon. We shared bites and it was so good I was drooling with every bite. The hamburger meat was juicy, the bun was toasted perfectly, the sauces - so gooooood! And the toppings on the burger fried and a little crunchy - to perfection! Battered fries - need I say more? Delicious! We got the half and half with sweet potatoe fries - a large and shared it - generous portions. The burgers are tasty and there are several unique combos. We had the garlic burger and the green Chile Avocado burger with pepper jack cheese. I'm a foodie and I love cheese so the first thing I look for at a burger joint is if they have real cheese. The seasonal peppermint shake was awesome and it was served with a nice stout straw (I hate little flimsy straws in a shake!) Good modern vibe. We will be back!! read more

One of the best burgers I have had. The restaurant was clean and had a good amount of room for dining in. The staff was really nice and helpful with my questions. I ordered the spicy serrano and it was so yummy. The bun was lightly toasted so it wasn't soggy even after the 15 min drive home. The burger was cooked perfectly and tasted like quality meat. The avocado was beautiful and green and delicious and the sauce was unreal. Creamy and spicy but slightly sweet. So good. Not going to lie, I gave up on CHOM after some recipe and ingredient changes a few years back and went to this new location in American Fork very reluctantly. It used to be my absolute favorite burger spot in Provo though, so I gave them another shot. And I'm so happy to report that the OG CHOM burger quality and taste is back and maybe better than ever.
