First let me say the design and aesthetic of this restaurant wins hands down; beautiful ins store imagery and signage. However, it all about the food! I ordered : 1) A classic chicken sandwich, mild sauce, combo (comes with fried and drink) And because I didn't want to miss out on their other sandwich...not like I'm here everyday ! 2) An original sandwich ( only) with mild sauce. 3) Mac and cheese for good measure This was a "linner" for me and frankly was hungry but also wanted to try as much of their offerings as possible. Whether it's the classic or the original, I didn't like either sandwich...the chicken of either sandwich wasn't crispy or moist, which I found strange considering both had a sauce. The adding of the sauce didn't help at all. I chose the mild and medium and were in spice/hot range that I was comfortable with. The fries were crispy and my favorite part of the meal. What a HUGE disappointment! My previous visit this was Crack Shack. Being celiac and unable to eat fried and breaded foods, I had found the perfect restaurant. The food is amazing and the employees are super nice. Each visit I am impressed with how friendly and welcoming the employees are. I had the chicken sandwich with fries. The sandwich was so good with the crispy pickles. I like spice so ordered mine spicy and it was perfect. I do like ranch with my sandwich; the ranch sauce complimented the sandwich perfectly. I decided to treat myself to a meal out a few days ago and my food at HHC in Traverse Mtn hit the spot. The fries were hot, fresh, and crispy. The chicken sandwich (mild spice level) was tasty and moist. However, the piece of chicken on the sandwich barely covered 2/3 of the bun, which was a little disappointing. The spice level was great, flavorful but with a hint of a kick. I tried the blueberry lavender lemonade which was tart, delicious and the flavors were there. The service was friendly and they even told me goodbye on my way out. The restaurant was clean and tidy. There weren't a lot of people there as the dinner rush hadn't hit yet. Chicken Sandwiches are always so tasty, along with the chicken strips! My son's favorite is the cheesy hot chicken, with medium sauce. I tried to take a picture but it was gone before I could get a chance lol! Only downside, my wife ordered the chicken tortilla soup. We had just come from a softball game and it was cold outside so this sounded amazing! First bowl came out cold, asked if we could get a warm soup, still came out cold. This location is one of my favorites. There is a ton of seating and parking. My big group got to sit around the outdoor table with the fire in the middle. The cashiers and servers were great and the food was even better. The portions were perfect. I was able to try a bunch of things from their menu. I'm a sucker for good fries and juicy chicken, so the fusion fries were perfect for me. I am, however, an even bigger spice fan. Not pictured are the "Houston we have a problem" tender that I ate and the frozen lavender blueberry slush that put out the resulting fire in my mouth. If you're not a spice professional, stay away from that spice level! It's not for the faint of heart. It's a really well run establishment and it is a more elevated version of fast food. I'm probably going to start an uprise by saying this, but my first experience at Houston TX Hot Chicken was very 'meh' for me. I went with a friend who can't handle spice, so we went with the mild flavors to be safe. If I was to try it again, I'd definitely order a spicier rub. I didn't love how much sauce was on the sandwich and how much dressing was on the salad. It overpowered the taste of each dish. I personally didn't like their house sauce but my friend did. I wanted to try their houston we have a problem chicken so we came here on Sunday to get some chicken. We got a mild cheesy chicken sandwich, a french fries with medium chicken, and a single tender of houston we have a problem. The Houston we have a problem is really truly so spicey, it is on par with the howling plus at howlin rays in LA. I took the tender home to try it and thankfully I did because it caused me so much pain that I would have been so uncomfortable eating this in public. After a few bites of the houston we have a problem, my ears were burning, now if you love spicy food you know this means something is really spicy. Soon after my whole mouth was inflamed and my lips were becoming swollen. I recommend coating your stomach with some greek yogurt / ice cream before eating this. I drank about 5 cups of milk after eating the tender. For the rest of the night I could not sleep because I had such severe stomach cramps that I was laying on the ground, and running back and forth to the toilet. I didn't feel normal until about 10 hours later . Great to try at least once !!!! I probably wont order it again because my stomach hurt too much, but if you love spicy food you have to try ! read more

Thinking about going into Houston TX Hot Chicken I was under the impression that we are going to another chicken place. I'd like to say that I was surprisingly incorrect. Is it just chicken, yup, but is it also delicious, 10000%. First off, thankfully Houston Hot Chicken is open on Sundays, in Lehi of all places, so that starts as a plus. The restaurant is near Harmon's at Traverse Mountain and wasn't too busy when we got there, but business started to pick up as we were eating. We decided to try the Fusion Fries and the Cheesy Hot Chicken. The Fries were amazing and there were plenty for my son and I to share a meal, with food leftover. My husband enjoyed the chicken sandwich as well (I didn't try it as I have an aversion to spice). We also tried the cookie shake with red velvet cookie - yum! This was my second time trying HHC and I wanted to try the salad. It was delicious! I really enjoyed it - I did add a little bit extra dressing because I love extra dressing. Best chicken spot in Utah, period! I've been here way too many times, at least 10. There are a crazy number of chicken spots in Utah, but Houston Hot Chicken stands out far above the rest for their top quality and never frozen chicken! You can literally taste the difference. This is the only chicken place that I have been to where I don't feel sick after. The tenders here are massive, filled with juicy white meat. Breading is minimal, just how I like my tenders - more meat, less crisp. Spice levels range from no spice to 2 million Scoville waiver level. Medium is perfect and my go-to when I want to enjoy my meal with just a little kick. Their house sauce is delicious, and crinkle fries are perfectly seasoned. Some of my favorites include the tenders and waffle, fusion fries (loaded with chicken, mango, black beans, corn), tender meal, and the secret menu waffle sandwich. Their liege waffle here is legit, btw. Chicken always comes out piping hot. Guys, this is seriously an amazing chicken spot! This is a terrific fast casual restaurant. The tables are best for parties of four or fewer and the location may get full during prime hours since it's a smaller dining area. While the menu may be a bit more limited than other places, the quality and flavor of the food was fantastic. We ordered both the Texas Caesar and Southwest salad and both we're good. Will not return to the Lehi Houston Hot Chicken until the summer if ever. Went to eat dinner at 5 pm. The inside of the store was 55 degrees. I asked if they could turn on the furnace and the cashier replied they did not have one...WHAT? Noticed the two person crew huddled near the stove in the kitchen for their portion of heat. Had to beg the cashier to come out to the front desk to put in an order. One of my tenders was very crusty, over cooked and hard to bite as it was way over fried. Very disappointing experience. Also note we were the only table there and someone jacked up the music so we would leave sooner. Very disappointing experience. They have different levels of spice you can choose from, my favorite being the honey butter for the original hot chicken sandwich! This one is tasty and great for those that have trouble with hot sauce! They also did provide some hot sauce to go. Pretty good! We got our food relatively quick for a Saturday night. The dry rub kinda sucks all the moisture out of your mouth lol but had a good flavor. Fries were a 10/10 for a crisp outside, soft inside, and a tasty seasoning on the exterior. They have interesting drink flavors that you can get in a slushy as well. They were good! It's been a few months since trying HHC after its opening and I think it's about time to go back. The wait was fairly long and tables were limited for the amount of people there. I went with the original hot chicken sandwich, medium heat. For the price, the sandwich seems smaller compared to other places, but I personally thought the chicken was prepared perfectly as were the crinkle fries! And the fry sauce wasn't just basic fry sauce, you can taste a difference. It was the perfect amount of food. For being medium heat it was still pretty spicy. It was almost too spicy for my friend who said she should have gone with the mild heat to enjoy her meal more. Probably between a 3 and 4 rating. I'm giving a 4 because it's good, but not as good as Dave's Hot Chicken, while also being a bit more expensive. It is however better than a lot of other places in Utah that have spicy chicken (Crack Shack & Dirty Bird). The chicken was mostly crispy and pretty moist on the inside. I returned to HHC and was not disappointed. This time I tried the mild tenders on my way up to the Houston, We have a problem. Mild is absolutly delicious. The SHU is the perfect level. You get all the flavors with little heat. This is a completly different tender compaired to the No Spice and Honey Butter. Mild is a good starting point if you are worried about the heat and you can't go wrong with the flavor. Fries were even better the second time around and deserve a new rating. Chicken was top notch, I got the sandwich medium spice and a spicy tender. Loved them both. My wife is a huge fan of the mild option, she goes for the tenders. Obviously you come for the chicken but the fries and slaw were great this time too. Again, much better than the first time. All the workers were very nice and helpful, line went much quicker and the place was cleaner. There is some tough competition in this shopping center with, Super Chix, Chik-Fil-A and Sort bird all in close proximity, not to mention a Raising Canes being put in right down the street but this would be my choice out of all of them.
