Asada burrito

Chonchis is still the best tacos I've found in Davis county. They no longer do the flavored pistachios and their prices have gone up, $3.25 tacos, $5 casa barrias. And they'll no longer put cheese on chips when requested. They still make a great taco. Customer service doesn't feel as accommodating as it used to be. But the food will keep me coming back for now. As long as they don't raise their prices anymore and I'd come more often if they were more affordable. The other taco shop I go to regularly has tacos for $2.50.

Absolutely smashing. A classic. Melt in your mouth meat. I found this tucked in a strip mall near my office in Farmington, which if you visit this city often you know there is a serious lack for any good food. I cannot wait to go back to Chonchi's. Their service is a little slow and I had to remind them of a few things they forgot so don't come here in a rush but all worth the magic that comes out and into your mouth. Highly recommend the street tacos and the birria taco. Their chips came out hot and the salsa bar is always poppin. Go here, tip them, tell your friends, etc.

Celebrated Latinx Heritage month by taking myself on a taco date! I've been subliminally messaged all week with Barria Tacos on my Instagram feed, so when I saw that this restaurant was well known for theirs I had to give in! Delicious and thick taco shells and melted cheese graced my plate, complete with the juicy meat and toppings. I even got a side of the stew to dip the tacos in. All in all, a delightful meal. Their were only a few things I'd suggest they adapt: better limes, mine didn't have enough juice to add. Lots more napkins, my tacos definitely stained my hands. And I would've like a little bit more clear menu--I didn't know exactly what I was getting with my tacos and how much I'd be spending. I spent a little over $7 for two tacos, which is reasonable but I thought it would be closer to $5 with the way everything was written on their menu board. Overall, I was thrilled to see a yummy place in a nice area. Fun location, right next to Smith's, and easy to get to from the interstate. Definitely taking the husband here when it's my turn for date night ;) TIPS & TRICKS: * Give their desserts and drinks a try, I didn't see them until after I got my food, but there is a refrigerator behind you when you order your food!

Best street tacos in Davis county! Absolutely love their food. Service is great and the restaurant feels clean. Absolutely a must try if you are looking for good tacos north of salt lake

These are the Quesobirria Tacos

I rarely ever leave a review!! This warranted a review. The quesobirria tacos here were a solid 9.5. They needed no sauce. Still tried all the wonderful sauces and the toppings they had. The consomé was just right. If you have no had a quesobirria taco before.... Do yourself a favor and order one. They're closed mondays and sundays. We live 30 min from here and go out of our way to satiate the craving. $3.49 as I write this for one. You'd be hard pressed to eat 3. Portion sizes are so good! They're worth the drive, the value is amazing for what you get. If you have not been here... it'll be your new favorite place for all things Mexican food.

Half way through my carne asada burrito and still no carne asada

I've put this update off for a while, as I've probably had Chonchis more than 10 times since my last review. They're pretty much the only option for decent taqueria style Mexican food in the area. I think the lack of competition allows them to keep prices slightly higher while not caring as much about quality. They were MUCH better when they first opened, but their restaurant has expanded in size and they always appear busy so most people in the area with low Mexican food standards appear to still be enjoying their food more than me. Their carne asada burrito with guacamole and sour cream on DoorDash is $10.99. That makes it more expensive than pretty much any carne asada burrito that'd you get in San Diego, while also being smaller, and not as good. Today I got half way through my carne asada burrito and still hadn't had any actual carne asada in my bite (see picture). Their birria is not very flavorful, and neither is their consume. I find myself driving all the way to SLC or WVC because the quesabirria down there is so much better. The vampiros can be good, but for some reason they're never made the same way. Sometimes they have beans, sometimes they don't. Sometimes the tortilla is super crispy and is like a tostada, other times it isn't and you can eat it like a taco. Kids are usually working there and often forget things. My consume is almost always missing when I pick up a quesabirria order.

This taco shop is the real deal. If you go on Tuesday's, it's buy 1 get 1 free. How can you beat that? They have a wide selection of authentic Mexican food from scratch. The restaurant is clean, big enough for families, and conveniently located. The service is top notch and the staff is always happy to give their recommendations. Where great authentic Mexican food is sparse in Utah, this is a great find. They have kid friendly kids meals if you'd like to bring your children

Waited over 30 minutes from the time we ordered until we got our food. It wasn't even that busy in the restaurant.

We ordered 2 quesa birria, 2 al pastor, 2 carne asada, and one beef empanada. Everything was delicious. The empanada reminded me of the ones I had growing up in Texas and felt just like a comfort food. The tacos were piled high, super flavorful and cooked perfectly. And both salsas were great. I could eat the green one with a spoon. My son had wanted a chicken taco but they had run out. But, while we were waiting for our order they finished making more chicken and threw a chicken taco in for my son. It was so thoughtful. Everyone at the truck was so kind. He devoured the chicken taco as soon as we got home, along with an al pastor, and has not stopped talking about it. He wants to go again tomorrow. 10/10 we will definitely be back.

Really tasty and healthy food here with a super nice staff and a very chill environment to eat in!…read more I had the pioneer bowl, with pita and hummus. The cilantro sauce with the sweet potato hash and chicken made up one of the best bowls I've ever had. The pita was crispy and warm with a really yummy hummus. I also had a chocolate cookie as recommended by the cashier, it was the perfect dessert to top off a great meal. The whole menu looks great, I'll be back!

First things first. If you are ordering takeout or delivery, be prepared for missing items or your…read moreorder to not be correct. Sadly I was warned and didn't heed the advice. I ordered the Custom Protein Plate to include Al Pastor Shredded Chicken, Fresno Cauliflower, and Cilantro Lime Slaw. I also requested a side of their pita bread and hummus along with just a side of pita strips. Lastly was the Habanero Ginger Hot Sauce and Israeli Pico. After waiting nearly an hour for my food to be ready to pick-up I was absolutely starving and stupidly didn't check the bag (which was sealed/stapled in a sturdy brown paper bag). Was very disappointed to see that I did not receive the pita bread and hummus side. I did receive just the plain pita strips that I also had ordered, and thank GOD I requested the Habanero Ginger Hot Sauce and Israeli Pico otherwise I would have had no spice or dipping for the bread and my meal. The Habanero Ginger Hot Sauce is spicy (but not too much so). It has the perfect kick that will definitely have me returning. The Israeli Pico was also fantastic and extremely fresh and flavorful. Both sides/sauces were so good that I honestly want to try them all eventually. The Al Pastor Shredded Chicken wasn't anything spectacular. It honestly tasted pretty much like any shredded chicken that you would receive at a Mexican restaurant. The Fresno Cauliflower was absolutely fantastic! Definitely could've used a larger portion size than what was included. The Cilantro Lime Slaw was also flavorful and very healthy/light on the abdomen. Only thing I will say is that it definitely didn't taste as good on day two so you might want to keep that in mind if you like to have leftovers such as myself. The pita strips were a bit disappointing. Almost rock hard and not very fresh though I will say they were all gone in the same evening as the seasoning is good and they aren't very large to begin with. Definitely do plan on returning but not quite sure when. I work a lot of long hours so I depend on takeout for most of my meals and I'm indifferent about a restaurant that couldn't get my order correct the FIRST time visiting (especially since I had already been warned; obviously it's a problem at this location). Vessel Kitchen definitely is a good, non guilty way of indulging without breaking the bank.

The first is super flavorful authentic Mexican. The second is really good, consistent, basic items (enchiladas, tacos, tamales) that you can order in combos. More streamlined. This hits the second need perfectly. The shredded beef (I like it in a taco) is AMAZING! So juicy and flavorful! The tortillas are lightly fried and just crispy enough. Chili verde is my favorite dish in general. The chili verde here is not what I think of when I'm craving that, but it's so good. I just consider it a different item and don't expect to get what I'd get at another type of restaurant. We need variety in life right? The chili rellano is so good! I order it most often. We love the salsa bar too! I love the relaxed fee of the place. We've met a lot of buffet workers and all seem to enjoy their job and are always easy to work with. They also seem to work together well. It's never super busy, so we never have to wait to be seated. But there are always people there. The best part for me is the price.
