Chong is my hairdresser for at least 8 years. I tried other hair dressers for many years and not happy, then I finally found my best hairdresser, Chong. She is very good in cutting my short hair m. The first time she cut my hair. I immediately loved her! I told her I just finished watching Korean dram Secret Garden and I looked like the main actor, not the actress.....Chong said in Korean, for short hair, men and women can wear the same style. Very stylish and cool. I saw she cut other people's hair before. Good looking too! I think during Covid, due to have to wear masks, there is some limits on giving the perfect trims around my ears. She didn't do the real digital perm for me, even not really cut my hair. This was the cold perm with steam, not real digital perm. And she claimed that was the new machine, it was just a steamer. She even not dried my hair, I believe she was afraid that I would find out immediately after drying my hair. After my hair was dry, it brew out like a lion. I used to go here to get my hair magic straightened. I've had it done at this salon twice. (I went to college in Oregon) This salon is magic. Mrs. Chong takes her time so make sure if you're getting your hair chemically straightened you give yourself plenty of time. But it's worth the time to have perfect hair. I think I paid $150. I love this woman! She's been cutting my hair for over 7 years now. She's fantastic with all types of hair that have different textures. As an asian female, I think Chong's is the place to go, especially if you like getting your hair layered. The absolute BEST hairdresser in all of Oregon in my opinion. I've been going to her since I was about 5 years old and I am now 19. I also live in Happy Valley (which is a good 30 minutes away). I absolutely refuse to let anyone else cut or trim my hair (not even my own mother is allowed to touch it). She is so fast and efficient, I swear I'm never in there for more than 15 minutes ever! And I have extremely thick asian hair, and I am VERY picky about my hair and the way it gets cut. She took me from having a bob cut with bangs when I was younger and gradually took me to have side bangs, and now to a middle part. Overall, I would 10/10 recommend her to anyone. read more

This place is obscured and can easily be missed. The only sign that I knew there was a hair place here was a small sign. When you go inside you can tell this is also her house. She greets you immediately and then after that, is where the magic happens.. In just thirty minutes my long flowing hair transformed to a cute a-line bob. And it only costed thirty dollars. I was able to make an appointment to get my hair done on the same day. I got my hair cut and digitally permed here. I brought in a picture and she was able to give me a similar style as the picture. I am really satisfied with my perm considering I've had straight hair all my life. The perm did take two hours so make sure you have enough time for it. Lastly, this place is cash only. Bring cash or there is an Arco ATM nearby where you can draw money. I highly recommend coming here. She is a lovely and friendly lady. read more

This is probably one of the worst haircuts I've received -- first off, I called to get a price range for what I wanted to do with my hair (cut and color) and she said she couldn't give that to me on the phone and so she told me to come in so she could look at it. I came in and she told me to sit down and she started on my hair before even asking me if I even wanted to do it so I just took a leap of faith and went through with the hair color and it turned out darker than what I had asked her to do. Then she started to cut my hair and cut it way shorter than the two inches I asked her to do and also cut the ends too thin, leaving my hair looking more damaged and dry than I came in. I've been going to Chong since geez, 10+ years? She knows exactly how I like my hair and she'll always give me advice on what would look best on me and what's the hottest trend. I used to get magic straight once a year but decided to stop only cuz I grew out of liking it, but she is very good at it! Takes about 3 hours and a bit pricey but it's competitive. It is a Korean run business and I believe it is for Korean customers only. The reason why I say that is because she treats Korean better than another ethnicity. I used to have her cut my hair but it has gone down hill. She once charged me $25 (just haircut) then she decided to charge $30 for hair. If she is in a good mood or has time, she would wash my hair and she does not understand English well so therefore she does not follow my instructions. All I am saying is be aware that it is not going to turn out what you want. The biggest problem I have is she charges $30 for an ugly haircut, no style and no even straight for the most part. In the beginning, it was fine talking with Chong about my hair in that what kinds of perm, hair length, and overall style that I would like to have. She seemed so confident in delivering what I wanted, so I had put my trust in her while getting the perm. However, after 3 hours of getting a digital perm, I was so upset, which had made me write this negative review about her, that my hair turned out totally different style than I asked her to do. I wanted to have a wavy look, not like an afro style perm which she performed on my hair. Also, I told her I hated bang on my front, but she got me one now. Not to mention of an expensive cost......I became speechless to have this kind of outcome.....Even after the thorough conversation with Chong about my hair style, I still got disastrous hair, of which the type of style did not even appear on any media nowadays.Even after 3 weeks, I am still mad at her thinking about my ruined hair which has made me avoid people in public.
