This is the chicken place that my friend and I find ourselves going to whenever we're craving fried chicken. My personal favorites are the garlic spicy and the garlic soy. I initially confused the hot snow chicken with Korean fried chicken, so if you're looking to get that sweet and spicy Korean fried chicken, then order the garlic spicy! It's sweet and spicy and I even found myself really eating every bit of sauce. The chicken itself has that really satisfying crunch. The spice level still packs a punch but it's at a point where it's enjoyable. As for the garlic soy--I say go for these if you like a milder spicy and sweeter version of the garlic spicy. The first time I came here, got the hot snow chicken to-go, and it came with a green jalapeño like sauce in a separate container. The chicken was decently fried and very breaded. The meat inside was moist and salty, so that was a positive. I've never had snow before so was excited to try. Didn't expect the onions to be raw though, so in combination with the hot sauce, it was a quite a burning spicy combination. The chicken is good, but it's personally not one of my favorite flavors. I like that all chicken orders come with picked white radish--very sweet and refreshing, especially if you decide to order spicy chicken. The staff were very nice. When I placed an online order and accidentally ordered the wrong flavor, I called within 5 minutes and they were able to make the quick change. The location is pretty convenient in a plaza with plenty of parking. The price of the chicken is indeed pricier than what you can get for cooked wings at your local supermarket ~$19 for 10 wings. But for the fantastic flavor of the garlic spicy/garlic soy and the quality chicken, I can see myself coming back to fulfill a craving for Korean fried chicken. read more

You order from a kiosk grab a number and find a seat your food will be rolled out to you shortly, remember to grab gloves and chopsticks from the robot for eating. They have tons of fried chicken options and all types of fries that you want. My ultimate fav items are Snow Onion Wings and Spring Soy Garlic Wings with regular fries washed down with Somaek (A bottle of Terra and a soju). I recently got the fried gizzards soy garlic and they are soooooo good! I've been wanting to try this place out for some time now as I've heard consistently great reviews. On this visit, they certainly did not disappoint! The concept of this restaurant is interesting. You order and pay utilizing tablets, and your order is brought to the table by a robot. It's a bit gimmicky but certainly a clean establishment. I ordered the Snow Garlic Spicy Tenders. You get one pound of thick and juicy chicken tenders. The tenders were fried really well and had a satisfying crunch to them. The Garlic Spicy sauce is a thick sweet and spicy glaze that was very tasty. The tenders were so good, I didn't feel like I even needed a dipping sauce. I love spicy food, so the sauce was a perfect heat level for me. If you do not like spice, I would recommend ordering a different flavor. The "Snow" sauce came with the tenders was interesting, and is a mayonnaise based garlic and raw onion sauce. I am not a fan of raw onion at all, but decided to give it a try anyways. I liked the wings, unlike other Koran chicken places, they have the best part of the chicken.....DRUMSTICKS. The only complaint is the chicken and the available sauces are heavy on the spices. Not every person can tolerate spicy food. This is the only Korean restaurant that I know of that does not offer sauce that doesn't contain spice. That will limit my visits. The Food here is super yummy! The chicken is crispy on the outside and full of flavor. The curly fries are delicious as well and cooked to perfection but I wish they gave more for $6. In my opinion the Box should of been filled. Your order everything on a computer so there is much interaction to comment on customer service. If you are sitting in the restaurant a robot will bring the food to you but if you are taking it to go, they will call your name. HOLY COW!!! We just had a life altering experience at Choong Man Chicken at 4900 S University Dr #100, Davie, FL 33328. This is the most incredible fried chicken I've ever had. Who would have thought the best would be Korean fried chicken. Just wow!!! Jaw dropping wow!!! The freaking drumsticks are so big. Never seen anything like them. And their chicken is sourced locally, never frozen & antibiotic free. To start they give you pickled daikon radish which in Korea is a tradition to eat with Korean fried chicken. Service is friendly and helpful. After much debate decided on the garlic soy drumsticks. I thought it was kind of pricey for five drumsticks but when I got my order saw they were huge. It seems like the most innovative food is coming out of Korea. I'm still hunting down a croffle but I can cross off my list Korean fried chicken. You think of fried chicken as a niche dominated by the American south but it is interesting to note that fried chicken became a Korean obsession after KFC came to the country in 1984 ahead of the 1988 Seoul Olympics. Since then restaurants have sprung up that serve chimaek, pairings of chicken and beer. Now in Korea, the initials KFC we associate with Kentucky Fried Chicken, are more likely to stand for Korean Fried Chicken. Choong Man Chicken is a franchise that has been around since 2009. Company founder Choongman Park has more than 200 restaurants in South Korea. There are now over 200 restaurants in the US with one just opened in Davie. Choong Man Chicken is known for their tikkudak, chicken that has been fried and then baked in a charcoal oven for extra crispness. Another one of their specialties is snow chicken, which is fried chicken covered in raw onion and a mayonnaise based sauce. I was introduced to Choong Man Chicken by my girlfriend who has a knack for knowing what is on trend. We came over to eat dinner before a Yelp dessert event. They have have both a indoor dining room and outdoor patio dining.. While you check out the menu, they start you off with a complimentary dish of a sweet pickled radish. You can have your chicken in drumsticks, wings, tenders, half, and whole chickens. They also serve gizzards. If you like spicy heat you will be pleased here with the sauce choices. Preparations include garlic spicy, red hot pepper, curry, hot and cold snow onion, lemon spring onion, cheese monster, and tikku. Knowing that hot spice is not really my thing my friend suggested we order the garlic soy chicken tenders and curly fries. It took quite awhile to get our food but it was worth the wait. A plate of sweet soy garlic tenders was $15.99 and was more than enough for two people to share. The sauce had just a little bit of a kick. Unfortunately our indifferent server forgot to put our curly fries order in. By the time it came out we had finished our chicken. They were tasty anyway and were also a massive portion. If you are looking for a healthy vegetable you are going to go empty handed here. The best you can get is a side of coleslaw. Rice, French fries, waffle fries, and cheese monster fries round out the sides. We only ordered two things and our server forgot one of them! It wasn't even busy. She also couldn't figure out the POS system. They have some kinks to work out. One of the owners came over to the table and remembered my friend from a previous visit so that was nice. South Florida finally has a Korean fried chicken (KFC) spot. I love fried chicken, especially KFC, and this was SO incredibly well fried. Even after sitting under the onions and sauce for 30 minutes, it was still crispy! Hot Snow Chicken: their original fried chicken topped with slightly pickled(?) onion and a spicy green sauce. It tasted more like a jalapeño kind of spice, so not spicy spicy. The sauce itself was on the tart/sour side. Truffle Fries: these fries stayed crispy for the entire hour we were here. I can tell they were freshly fried. The truffle is a subtle infused flavor that doesn't punch you, but rather hugs you. Service here is incredibly nice. Came with two other people on a Saturday evening so the place was pretty packed. We ordered on the self order kiosks and asked to be added onto the waitlist for a table (since every table inside was full and it was almost 100° outside). We waited outside for around 20 min and then went back inside to wait for another 10 min before a table finally opened up and we were able to sit down. Once we sat down though, the food came out immediately - by a robot! We ordered 10 soy garlic and 10 curry wings, as well as truffle fries. The flavor was definitely there for both wings, though all 3 of us preferred the soy garlic one as the curry was a bit too sweet for our liking. I do wish that the chicken was crispier as well - only the top pieces were crispy and the other pieces were pretty soggy by the time it got to our table. The truffle fries were a disappointment tbh, but we still tried to finish it all since they were pricey! The chicken came with a side of pickled radish that were mid - they tasted more like tap water than radish. Service was ok, some lady took away one of our plates when we weren't even finished eating, but the other guys at the register were pretty nice. There were also a lot of flies flying around inside but that can be blamed on Florida weather! The fries are good man. This place is just amazing. Also, the service there is amazing is self serve but they have this machine that comes through and bring you all your food and your items and everything else on there. It's it's crazy inside. It's a nice nice small inside place but the ambience the vibe is different. It takes you to Korea And it gives you like a different type of vibe that you can't find nowhere else. Finally! I mukbang dream! Came on superbowl Sunday minutes after opening. They had only two people, one doing phone calls AND to go orders and another who came in later, waiting tables. Phone calls were ringing nonstop for pick up orders later in the day. Felt bad for the girl. I noticed they had filtered water. Which I appreciate because Florida water is so terrible haha. CM Chicken can be found on University right in the same plaza as Paris Morning Bakery at the cornerfront. They've got a bunch of flavors to try and a very friendly and helpful staff to help guide you with decision making. We decided to go with the garlic soy chicken tenders (1lb) and the garlic spicy chicken wings (10 pcs) with a regular order of fries. Both chickens were verrrry rich in flavor and saucy. (The garlic spicy wings were reminiscent of the honey chipotle chicken crispers from Chili's if you need a comparison.) It's a good thing we ordered the fries and had water to wash it down with bc it's a lot. Oh and they also provide a side of pickled raddish, I think to offset the spicy but that too is sweet. Hope to maybe see some more side options if the menu changes/expands. Overall, still a very good experience. I enjoyed it. I almost forgot the pricing.. they are.. pricey. Be wary. Every time I watch a Korean drama, there's a sudden craving for these chicken wings and a side of beer. Haha. So I'm glad a Korean chicken place has surfaced in the Davie area. It is a definite upgrade from the previous restaurant here before. However, I can't get myself to give this place a 5 star yet. But I will definitely be back. For soft opening, they seem to work seamlessly like they been here for a long time. Customer service was a1 to the day 1 and based on the first review by Mark it didn't seem like they were letting people sit inside but they let us so that's cool. A couple things tho... chicken wings weren't as crispy as we would like and we ate it at it's freshest state. The spicy wasn't spicy. The truffle fries just tasted like regular fries with a hint of parm. We barely touched it because the curly fries were the clear better option. The snow onion was ok, I just don't eat onions like that. But it did compliment the wings. 10 wings is also a lot per order. I wish there was a 5 pack so I can do half curry half garlic soy. I came with my husband on a Sunday afternoon thinking we were just getting regular Korean fried chicken from a hole in the wall place. Now don't get me wrong.. it is a hole in the wall place. We sat at a booth and the waiter brought over some waters and a Mango soda (not sure if the soda was a Korean brand) which was good. Hey you.. reading this... ain't nothing regular about this chicken. IT. IS. GOOD. I've never been to Korea, but checking out this place has opened my eyes to place it on my travel list. My favorite was hands down garlic spicy, it's a sweet and spicy flavor, but they all were fantastic. We got to meet the owners who were so accommodating and welcoming to our feedback. I have been reading about this place for a long time on food review sites as well as Facebook. Finally found myself an Davie at the right time to try it out. Their menu is limited to eight types of chicken. I ordered two types. One garlic spicy chicken and soy garlic spring onion. I also ordered two Kirin beers. You can get white meat, dark meat, half chicken or tenders I opted for tenders on both. Each basket of chicken was $15.95 each and the beer was $5.95 per bottle. The total bill was. $46.73 which I thought was a little high for two beers and two baskets of chicken. First garlic spicy chicken was very hot. It's not spicy it's hot. I love spicy and this was near tear inducing. The soy garlic was not as flavorful but good. One of the interesting things about this restaurant is they have robotic servers so a robot makes its way around and you take your food off the robot tray and push the button and the robot goes back to the kitchen. Very cool! So I did not think the chicken was as crispy as I had imagined for Korean fried chicken, I had been expecting a sharp crunch when I've been in a super crispy exterior, which I did not get it was cooked very well on the inside, juicy and tender. Overall I enjoyed it but I thought with tip $50 was too much to pay for two baskets of chicken and two beers and had I skipped the beers and had water. We had an order of red hot pepper chicken legs and an order of garlic spicy chicken tenders. Each came with five pieces. There were only three of us. (Yes, we did take home some leftovers.) The spicy is ridiculously hot, even for this seasoned gourmand who loves picante food that brings tears to her eyes. While I probably would not order it again, because I like to "taste" my food, I enjoyed every tingly moment of biting into this crunchy, hellacious chicken. This is not for the faint of heart. But if you like really hot stuff, you have to try it once! The garlic spicy chicken tenders were perfect for us. Spicy, with a strong kick, but you could still taste your food. This is a popular place, and even 30 minutes prior to closing had a long line of people waiting for their orders. We ordered at 8:35 pm and were told via a general announcement that they were making more chicken and all orders would be another 20 - 25 minutes. Right at 9:00 pm, our order was ready. They were closing, turned off the music, we're rolling up the Matt's, and it was very clear we were expected to take our order and go. The toppings were separated to the side, but I'm sure the steam on the drive still took away some of the crisp to the chicken. We were looking forward to the robot serving our food, and enjoying hot crispy chicken at the restaurant. They close early say plan ahead. The chicken tenders were big, meaty, and well cooked. We tried the snowball that came with a creamy white sauce and thinly sliced raw onions. We also tried the soy garlic. The snowball was the better of the two, but most of us started picking the onions off after eating about half of it. The soy garlic didn't taste like soy are garlic, it was more of a hot teriyaki. Definitely had a lot of heat, and a sweetness to the flavor profile. I am not sure if they gave us the wrong sauce, because it was very spicy. If we truly had the soy garlic than the one listed on the menu as hot is going to set your face on fire. We were not looking for spicy, and while the flavor was good, the soy garlic was spicier than any of us wanted. Overall, we thought the chicken was good, and that it might be worth another shot with different flavors. They have a golden curry I was interested in trying. That said, we woke up and out stomachs were in knots. After some sprite and food, they settled, but was not good. They have a cucumber kimchi that is only $2 and was a generous portion and very good. A final note, you order at a Kiosk and pay. There is no service help, yet the tip suggestion starts at 15% and goes up to 25%. Maybe this is for the people that dine in, or for the cook (doubt they see it), or the guy taking the food from the cook and putting it in a bag? Most POS systems have this built in now, just find it ironic when it happens and you have literally not interacted with anyone at the restaurant. So so happy to find legitimate Korean fried chicken in the Miami/Broward area. I've come on multiple occasions, and felt like the service was always super quick and fast (I haven't come at super crowded times though). First off something was wrong with the AC so it was suffocating inside which made it very unpleasant. 2nd issue was waiting in that uncomfortable temp for 25 mins for our order, that was a ridiculous amount of time to wait for fast food. I've been to Choongman twice and both times were great. I won't lie, it's a bit pricey but you get what you pay for. Quality and flavor. I got wings, drumsticks, waffle fries, cheese monster fries and some Soju. The first time I went it was slow but the last time I went it was packed. So packed that they added outdoor seating. The Garlic Spicy is my favorite flavor so I would recommend that one. The Lemon Spring Onion was close to Lemon Pepper so I liked that one too. The cheese monster fries were gross, it's just too cheesy with a smoky flavor but the waffle fries were perfect. They should give more fries though because the amount of fries are kinda small in relation to the chicken. I will definitely come back and continue to explore the menu. I went back and they got even busier. They now have a robot that will bring the chicken out to you. They also have an outdoor seating section although it's really hot outside. The waiters and waitresses work really fast and they are very nice. They also added Kiosk Machines for you the place the order rather then speaking to someone which makes this easier. Chicken Tenders are amazing and staff is very friendly. Garlic soy tikkudak is on another level. Definitely coming back for more.

So happy that this place opened up in South Fl! Korean fried chicken spots are rare where I live so it's nice to have this place as an option. The crispiness and flavor of the wings was so good. I ordered 10 garlic spicy wings to share and we could not even finish them. They are more filling than they look! (Not complaining though) Food came out pretty fast and the place overall seemed clean. It's a little small which I could see becoming a problem at busy times but other than that I highly recommend coming here :) *Update* came back here the other day and got served by a robot. The food was still great, however, I didn't realize that all of the portions were so big (i.e. you can only order 10 wings, 1 lb of tenders, etc. but no less). Also the servers no longer take your order or bring you food. Everything is done online and a robot brings you the food. I think the idea for this is good but the workers should provide more guidance on how to do the online ordering and paying. read more

Service was nice, the people at the front were attentive and directed us to the machines to place our order. I second the review that talked about tip when you are placing an order through automatic POS. I'd rather pay a bit more for my food than feel like I have to tip in order for my meal to come out right. As for the chicken and fries. I ordered the (forget the name) chicken that is fried then grilled. The chicken I got was not grilled and smelled of fish. Assuming they use the same fry oil for their shrimp and fish dish or haven't cleaned the oil in a while. Overall still ate it and the flavor was good just couldn't get over the fish taste for chicken. We'll try it again soon and I'll update the review. Hopefully a better experience next time. read more
