The dumplings, which apparently is how I quickly judge some restaurants, has the perfect mix of crispy, very slightly greasy, and just overall tasty. I'd suggest the shrimp dumplings. I also had their spicy pork with white rice and miso soup. Also all very tasty. And to top everything off the young lady taking my order was informative and delightful. Choose & Mix is a true hidden gem. It's a small place tucked in a little plaza next to Bennie's. This was my first experience with Bibimbap which is a mixture of rice (or sweet potato noodles), protein, veggies, and sauce served in a hot stone bowl. Everything I've had here is delicious. So far my favorite combination is the sweet potato noodles, spicy chicken, all veggies, fried egg on top, and teriyaki/hot paste. The hot paste is basically a sriracha hot sauce. You really need to eat here and get the hot stone bowl for the full experience. The girls that work here are all super nice and you can tell they really care about the place. My husband and I visited this restaurant 2 nights ago and as it was our first time ever trying BiBimBap we were a little skeptical but also very interested in trying due to past reviews. We each had our bibimbap served in a hot stone bowl he had the white rice, chicken, and beef (already cooked in carrots & onions), with no other veggies, teriyaki sauce & an egg on top and I had the white rice, chicken, shrimp, carrots, red peppers, onions, and teriyaki sauce. We also ordered beef dumplings as sort of an appetizer. We were pleasantly surprised by not only the taste but also the freshness of our meal. The establishment itself isn't too big it had if memory serves me correctly 4 (2 seater tables), 2 (4 seater tables) and an "L" shaped counter top with quite a few stools but all in all pretty comfortable and clean. Overated, not recommended for someone who has had Korean food before. The format is good but the taste is off. The most expensive dish Galbi is definitely not authentic, which is not a big deal, but it is not marinated well at all. All the flavor is in the sauce, bother short ribs didn't have much flavor in it. I am usually on the plain side in terms of my taste preference but I would say this is quite flavorless. It's not the sauce, but just the lack of marination. Otherwise service is good however. read more

Woke up this morning and had a serious hankering for some Korean food. Ended up going golfing at Cyprian Keyes golf club in Boylston. Hit a 41 on 9 holes, not too shabby if I do say so myself. Post golfing, my hankering was at a turkey uncontrollable level. Upon booting up yelp *i stop to sip my iced tea, which by the way came with my lunch* I stumbled upon a rather inviting title for a restaurant, "choose and mix" my simple and uncultured American Brain was immediately drawn to this dull title. But alas, it worked l, didn't it? I needed up venturing out about 11 minutes after my rather bodacious 41 on the links. Upon arriving into the lot, I noticed the little hole in the wall. I was slightly intrigued at the modest establishment before me. I centered through the doors and was immediately greeted by the warm patreon before me. The process of ordering was simplified by the jolly soul. The fry cook had the voice of a Mediterranean siren and immediately hyptonized me. I felt as if I needed to be strapped to the mast of a ship like Odysseus to prevent myself from jumping on the hibachi. Food was delightful, see you tomorrow. We went to Choose and Mix for a quick dinner. It was very good, especially for the price point. The staff was friendly and welcoming. The steamed dumplings were delicate and delicious. My two young kids enjoyed the crispy sweet chicken wings. My husband loved the short ribs Galbi, he said it was fantastic. I came to Choose & Mix with my friend for lunch! They have lunch special that includes Bibimbap with your choice of protein and toppings, miso soup, and a drink for $9.41. From the moment we walked in, we received excellent and attentive service. The woman at the cash register had us try all of the sauces so we could decide which we wanted on our Bibimbap and gave us recommendations for good combinations of sauces based on our choice of protein. I love condiments, so tasting all of the sauces was really fun for me (and they were all delicious!!). Both my friend and I got our Bibimbap in stone bowls, which are serving vessels that stay extremely hot for a long period of time, crisping the rice on the bottom of the Bibimbap, and keeping your food warm throughout your meal. The serving of Bibimbap is huge (!!!!!), and it was delicious. I loved the crispy rice at the bottom of my stone bowl that had caramelized when mixed with the sweet lemon soy sauce that I chose to put on my Bibimbap. My friend and I also both got fried eggs on top of our Bibimbaps, which had beautiful runny yolks that dripped right into the vegetables and rice. I would absolutely come here again!! read more

Visited here yesterday as it popped up as a new place near us. My boyfriend and I decided to check it out. The place is very clean and bright. There is not a large amount of seating available (most of it is a bar like set up with stools) but with the limited space it works. We were very cheerfully greeted when we walked in. I didn't catch the woman's name but she definitely made our entire visit pleasant. She let us know they had just opened and gave us the run down of the specials and how to order. My boyfriend ordered the special with the pork and i built my own bowl...brown rice, all the veggies (including jalapenos), shredded chicken, topped with the soy lemon sauce and sesame oil. That meal, hit the spot. They also gave us the seaweed salad and kimchi to try and those were good. But the ingredients were super fresh and the sauce was delicious. She let me try the different sauces before i selected my preference. There was enough food to bring my leftovers for lunch the next day. They have a very good thing going here, as long as they build a decent customer base. I, for one, will definitely be returning here.
