Me and my partner love going to red heart tavern when in the mood for this kind of food. The service is always very quick and attentive. The food has always been very good and comes out quickly.

My son and I are in town for a baseball tournament and we just arrived hungry. Close to our hotel with ample gluten free offerings. There is a sign out front but also a closed restaurant. Red heat is located in a group of buildings in the back. One looked like a closed theatre. It's Saturday night and they weren't super busy. Tough location. Super nice place. A good number of outside tables, nice size bar, a lot of interior tables + shuffleboard. Son had GF pulled pork Mac and cheese and I had the turkey melt with fries. Food was very good. Waitress was attentive and friendly. Portion size was ok for cost. Not a ton but not skimpy. Overall a nice meal.

Food was quite delicious. Everything looked and tasted great, though if you're ordering spicy options like the Buffalo Mac n cheese, expect at least a bit of actual heat Server was very nice, recommended putting ice cream on the cornbread and it was a great idea, would do it again

Knowing the staff is so helpful. Food is good. Quiet for the most part, but seats near the kitchen it's quite busy and loud too

Farm to table, pi to the zazz and a whole lot more! Our party, on the larger side, (in numbers lol) was promptly seated after a warm greeting. The decor makes you feel right at home. Indoor and outdoor seating available. We were seated close to the kitchen for a Birds Eye view of the chefs doing their thing. Their thing they DID! Our server was friendly and operated in a timely fashion. Alas, the food arrived. The conversation lulled to a pause as we all feasted upon the deliciously fresh goodness provided. I could go dish by dish, but when it's this good you just have to try it for yourself. When you know, no explanation is needed. When you don't, none will do. Bon appetite!

I have been to Red Heat Tavern a few times now (Dine in, pick-up) and have to say that the food is great (better when hot and dining in) and works well for family, work, friends. The menu does change so going off "current" offerings from the last time I was there I have to call out the jumbo tater tots. Deep fried goodness with their added cheese blends make this a must have appetizer. Their burgers are solid, the meals are good too. I do substitute for the Brussel sprouts with bacon because I feel it makes me feel semi healthier with all the liberties I take otherwise when I order. Nice staff, good service, and well done food. Not the lowest of prices but I feel you get good quality based on what you pay for.

Food is not bad just a bit overpriced for local tavern food. Mexican street corn was delicious. Not always on menu tho.

So, when a good friend called and told me that there was a new one that opened in Shrewsbury, it was off to the races. I had to experience this. Service: We got seated nearly instantaneously when we got in the door and the place was already quite busy by the time that we got there. My friend got a salad of some sort with a sandwich and I got one of their signature burgers. The waitress appeared in a timely fashion, took the orders, had drinks on the table in no time, and was very attentive to any and all needs. Ambiance: It was on a Saturday during sports season, so there was a lot of noise and chaos going on, but that is always how I remembered the Ground Round. It is NOT a restaurant that you are going to read a good book in. The fact that this restaurant also had high cathedral ceilings which increased the acoustics, made it a little more unbearable for people who like quieter spots. But to me and my friend, it was not a dealbreaker. Food: After all, what were we doing there for anyways, but the food? It was very good. She enjoyed her dish, and my burger was actually one of those "skyscraper" burgers that are impossible to grip with two hands or get into your mouth for a bite. After dining at the Ground Round again, I am moderately confident that I could take a bite out of the Prudential Center if the need arose. Don't get me wrong, the burger was tasty, juicy, and done to perfection, but it was yuuuuge. Overall, if I could give the Ground Round a 1/2 a star I would make my rating of them a 4 and a 1/2 stars venue. I will definitely be back and look forward to meeting my friend there again for lunch. :) -S

First, the place was DEAD, aside from several patrons in the bar area; about the same in the dining room. I noticed the lighting was off, way off; it's like the kind hazy fluorescent lighting that gives you a migraine. Second, the music playing was barely audible; I would expect to hear really good nostalgic music from the 70s & 80s (you know what would make this place fun??? A JUKEBOX!!!). I ordered the Ground Rounder and was disappointed; I don't like cheese and it came with cheese; I wish the server asked if I wanted cheese; I know, I know, the description on the menu says it comes with cheese; my bad BUT I don't like cheese on my burger. I wish it came on a sesame bun or bulky roll; the pretzel roll just sucks IMHO. Also, please remember the old time Ground Rounder came with Steak Fries back in the day; today, this one comes with grease-sticks -- stubby reconstituted dehydrated potatoes formed to resemble French fries which wick the grease from the Fryolator, UGH! For the burger, I prefer lettuce, tomato and onion over cheese and bacon any day of the week. The service was good, which is the only reason I gave my review 2 stars. Overall, a disappointment, but with some tweaks it might have a chance. As is, it's not going to be around very long. Please please please rectify the suggestions outlined above and I'll reconsider coming back. I'm sorry, but until then I can't recommend to my friends.

Impressive contrast between the patty's crusted exterior and still-juicy interior. Arguably overdone on the outside, but I'll take that all day every day as long as the juiciness is there. Moderate amount of butter on the Texas toast standing in for rye. Somewhat-traditional condiments, but with a few liberties taken (caramelized onion, cheddar jack, bacon). Not elite, but solid enough job and probably among the better patty melts I've had on my recent quest. -- CH Cheeseburger: Tried twice, this wasn't just a good cheeseburger for the 'burbs or a good cheeseburger for a brewery. This is a good cheeseburger, period, and a very good one. The first thing I really like about it is that it's a thick, full-size patty, and not the overexposed smashburger that's made the thick ones nearly extinct. The second is that they understand and deliver on the concept of textural contrast: crusty exterior and pink, very juicy interior. They also season it just enough to notice, butter that griddled bun just enough to notice, and don't screw up the vegetable additions. The cheese is there but unremarkable. The bun is soft and flexible. Overall, one of the best burgers in MetroWest and Worcester. -- Fries: The frozen variety, neither great nor horrific. They got the job done. -- Beer: I like their offerings, led by their flagship Juice Freak, served properly in attractive glassware. I have other breweries with beers I love, but none of them has a burger I love, and I'm already falling in love with this one. Service was excellent every time, once at a table and twice at the bar. Note: If you use Siri to get directions here by name rather than address, she'll tell you that they've closed, but that's because they moved recently. They're open.

Upon walking inside, you'll immediately feel like you've gone back in time. It gives off a very classic, old-fashioned diner feel, with booth seating and red stools along the counter. Important to note that this place is cash only. Lobster and other seafoods are advertised as their specialty both online and within the restaurant. I never had a lobster roll before, and unfortunately, this place made me think lobster rolls were mediocre and overrated (and then I had my life changed by lobster rolls from other places). FOOD: Lobster Roll (6 oz.) (2.75/5) - I opted for mine to be served warm with butter. It came with a side of slaw and very generous portion of onion rings and fries. The lobster roll itself was lukewarm and the melted butter came on the side in a small plastic cup. (I was expecting for the butter to be more incorporated.) The lobster sat on a small bed of cut lettuce. The lettuce wasn't of the freshest quality as some pieces tasted strangely bitter. The lobster was a tad rubbery, and everything was overall bland to me. I found myself reaching for the salt shaker more than would have wanted to. SERVICE: I believe a new hire was getting trained during my visit, so it was a bit clumsy. However, I found it rather charming. They are all very warm people, and you can tell that this is a family owned establishment, which is why I really wanted to like this place. TLDR// Unfortunately, did not have the greatest first lobster roll experience here. Hopefully, I went on an off day or I was better off ordering something else.
