My wife and I came here after a movie to have dessert and a glass of wine. We ordered wine, and asked for the dessert menu. The waitress brought the wine but informed us that they don't serve just dessert. She then told us that if we just wanted drinks, the casino has other areas for that. We are local and eat at Chop Block & Brew around twice a month. It seems as if there are always issues. Last night it was two soups that were barely warm. We had to flag down a manager to get attention as our server was very busy. They were out of Martini glasses so our Martinis were served in "other" glasses. Let me start by saying the food her is quite good, especially the Prime Rib. However this restaurant appears to be in the business of turning away money. My husband and I came in on a Wednesday night at about 530. There were literally 7 tables in the restaurant. I asked for carrot cake and a burger to go. I was told we dont do take out? What restaurant doesnt do take out? First I was told it's at the Chef's discretion, so apparently he was in the weeds with 7 tables. Then I was told they only do take out the first and last hour they are open. Which makes no sense at all. So I give the food a 4 and the management a 1. Love Steak House's but must have been the worst $28 prime rib I ever had. Prime rib should if cook right just melt of your fork like butter the steak i got litterly tasted like it sat a the very bottom of a slow cooker and was saturated with the taste of charbroiled grease, was the worst. The only thing that made the experience great was the waiter he apologised and got the desserts comped other than without his saving grace would have only gotten 1 star. I thought this would be a decent steak house going by the menu and prices but I was wrong. The dining room feels like a cafeteria. Bright and not romantic at all. Like why not dim the lights? We were very dissatisfied in Chop, Block and Brew. The food was good but the service was terrible. We made reservations two months ahead for Valentines Day Dinner. They seated us in the middle of the restaurant over by the kitchen. We asked for a better, more quiet table and the hostess told us there weren't any other tables ( there were plenty) that we could move our table a different angle so we could hear each other. I then asked her if she meant "we" could move it, or "she" could move it. She never answered me, just walked away. We are both Diamond members also, so I guess that doesn't matter. We went to Chop, Block and Brew for our anniversary and first couldn't find it in the casino. Then we get seated and it took over 5 minutes for our waiter to acknowledge us. He says sorry I was just told I had your table. Then some other people come and sit behind us and they get their drink order and brings them water and we still are waiting for our ice teas to be brought out. Again the table behind us now has ordered and we still don't even have our drinks. For the price of this restaurant for how high end they are trying to make it seem. It is still just another Casino restaurant that is ran poorly. I was so upset that we decided to leave. I wanted to talk to a manager and just explain that for a high end restaurant. I tried this restaurant twice in the last 48 hours. As i write this review I am reminded of the saying when someone tells you who they are believe them the first time. i am a great lover of prime rib, the meal at Chop was enough me to imagine a life as a vegan. The meat was tasteless, flat and without any redeaming quality. The next day I decided to give the bad meal a shot and had a Stella with an $18 shrimp cocktail. The shrimp was dry, and had clearly been sitting on a plate somewhere for what must have been days waiting to be put to its final resting place. This snack was pitiful by any standard. I highly recommend avoiding this restaurant at all costs. Management from El Dorado to the restaurant itself should be stripped of their right to serve anything but a chili dog with bad amer cheese. read more

We were there for our 34th anniversary and was given a free dessert. Very unexpected and tasty. The staff was very nice, and took time to chat. We loved the atmosphere, it is nicely designed. Had the prime rib fondue appetizer, very tasty! My husband ordered a burger, he said it was cooked just the way he asked for it to be cooked and tasty. I ordered the shrimp and grits. The shrimp were huge and very flavorful and the grits were creamy and had just the right amount of seasoning. We enjoyed the meal and atmosphere. We plan on returning. Saturday, August 4, 2018, 8:00 PM reservation: Checked in at 7:50 PM. Seated at 8:17 PM. People with 8:00 PM reservations who arrived after me were seated first. When they finally reached my name, the hostess ignored us and walked over to a table where white people were sitting. My daughter had to flag her down. We started with French Onion Soup (delicious). We only drank ice water with lemon. For our meal, I ordered the 12 oz smoked prime rib (medium well) with baked potato; my daughter had the Copper State Burger (medium well). The prime rib and baked potato arrived cold. I sent it back. They threw it on a dirty grill to heat it (residue from previously grilled items were stuck to it) and of course it was no longer medium well. They replaced the baked potato. The prime rib, even with the au jus, lacked flavor. We chose not to have dessert. Within half an hour of leaving the restaurant my stomach started with the first signs of diarrhea. I spent the rest of the night alternating between the toilet and drinking carbonated clear beverages. The next morning my daughter (we had separate rooms) told me she had the same experience. The only foods we had in common at the restaurant was the ice water with lemon, the French onion soup, and the dinner rolls. I will never eat there again. I realize they have just opened and haven't found their "rhythm" yet, but serving cold food, giving guests diarrhea, and ignoring guests because of their ethnicity are things even a new restaurant can avoid. read more

This is the second time we've come to this restaurant we came for the grand opening. We gave them a pass the first time because it took them 75 minutes to bring our food out party or for late seating. We figured a month later things will be better but they only got worse the food came out a little quicker but we waited 15 minutes just to get the check to pay the bill worst service ever ironically the waiter had employee of the month on his badge. But he wasn't very attentive and the service was very disappointing. Although the people across the way from us who ordered multiple lobster tails seem to get a little more attention than we did. What does that tell us? The only reason why this got two stars is because the food was actually decent. But the atmosphere and service really sucked. Watched waitress stand and talk with friends as we sat with no service. Finallay we left and took our business elsewere. For the price your going to pay would have expected better service. We have been waiting for the renovations to the hotel and casino to be completed, and we're certainly excited about this restaurant. The decor is gorgeous. We booked a table at Open Table, so I definitely recommend this to ensure you're not waiting. We were seated and attended to right away. Great beer, wine, and cocktails, and the prices for drinks were less than I expected. Our shrimp cocktail app was delish. Grilled and then chilled added excellent flavor. Salads were exceptional. My husband and MIL both went for the steaks. Delicious and perfectly prepared. I tried the scallops and they were melt in your mouth good. Went there for our anniversary dinner last week. It was just exceptional. The restaurant is newly decorated and certainly the most hi-end restaurant you can find in maricopa. The food was excellent and the staff was super. I had a half rack of ribs and they were done so nicely that I could eat the entire rack of ribs with a knife and fork. My friend and I decided to give Chop Block & Brew a try for dinner around 6pm on a Sunday after they have been opened for over a month. The venue is new and has very nice decor with modern tones and a bit of eclectic home feel. However, we found the lighting fixtures to be nice that they are a bit too bright for a higher-priced specialty dining place. Should be about half as bright. The main entree we had was underwhelmingly terrible and needs emergency rescue. We both ordered Burger Bar, with Diet Pepsi. I had the Block Salad (walnuts, strawberries, but minus the blue cheese), and it was pretty good. My friend had the French Onion and like the other review, agree it was delicious and both quite similar to the quality and reminiscent of the former Range Steakhouse at the property, which was a hidden gem we actually adored and miss now. The burgers were absolutely TERRIBLE. The menu recommended Medium Rare, and while it was cooked properly, the meat simply had no flavor, given it was supposed to be mix of top meats. The bacon was extra thick, maybe too thick, it was too chewy in the middle and difficult to eat. The bread was light and also tasteless. The burgers at the Copper Cactus Grill on property are much tastier than this disappointment of a burger. We overheard other patrons mention how terrible of a burger it was for the price. We wholeheartedly agree. The check took forever to arrive and even longer to process for payment. Like other reviews, I also started not feeling well after the meal and just upset stomach all evening after it. That literally doesn't "sit well" with wanting to come back anytime soon. Too bad they canned the best parts of the Range Steakhouse, which were rather surprisingly good and scrapped it for mediocre specialty food that is frankly overpriced. They really need to reflect on the feedback and fix things asap. My friend and I agreed we will not be coming back to CB&B unless they make some significant changes to make it a potentially incredible food worthy of the nice new place for which it lives, but will die unless they improve the food quality and service immediately. read more

My husband and I visited for our first time last Saturday. Unsure of the crowd, we made reservations for 5pm (relatively early for the usual supper crowd) and arrived at 4:45pm. We were seated in an alcove with 6 tables total, only 3 that were occupied. We waited about 10 minutes before we met our waitress, and after already having ample time to look over the drink and supper menu, we ordered both drinks and appetizer during that initial contact with the waitress and were informed water and complimentary bread would be right over. Another 10 minutes passed and we hadn't received any water, nor our drinks or bread. By this time the table to our left had been occupied by an EMPLOYEE of the establishment as well as her husband. It was made apparent she was an employee as she had greeted and informed *several* waiters and kitchen runners that she was there. This employee and her husband immediately placed drink and meal orders after about 5 minutes in which they had already received water and complimentary bread. We had placed our meal order by now yet still hadn't received our water or bread, our ordered drinks or appetizer. Huh? Our employee neighbor was served their salds before us and their meal a whopping 15 minutes before ours, along with their SECOND round of drinks. Yet we had arrived 20 minutes earlier - and were a party of 2 as well, with the same salads and nothing that would have caused a delay in service (both parties ordered steak and fish). If you wish to treat your employees above your actual guests - seat them where the favoritism is not prevalently obvious to potential long-term repeat guests. If you wish your guests to feel as special as your employees - as the guests are the foundation of your business - treat them with the same attentiveness as your employees. I hate to say, but we'll never return. read more

Reservation for six at 545pm. We had a few issues like being told they hadn't decided who would take our table yet etc. We all ordered burgers(5 mac n cheese/1 mushroom burger). We didn't receive our food until 715pm and it was cold. They took our cold food and remade our food and brought out each order as it was finished. They forgot lettuce and tomato on every burger the second time and one of the Mac n cheese burgers only had 2 noodles on it. It was very disappointing. I wish we didn't choose to celebrate an occasion here. We are still waiting for our birthday guests dessert and to go boxes at 840pm. Long night. We not be coming here again. read more

Came here with the wife for her birthday. Called a host earlier in the day and let them know when we were going to be in. When we got there they had no reservation for us and said it would be about 45 min to get a table. We went to play some games while we waited and came back in about 35 min. About 1 hour after or initial contact we got a table in a dark cove off to the side walking right past 8 or 9 tables that were empty the entire time we were waiting. It took a little time to get water and bread, thankfully we got drinks at the bar before being seated. We ordered their burger and their special 8oz steak with scallops and sides ($70). The burger looked great and was very juicy but lacked flavor and the steak fries were great, the steak was outstanding(cut it with a fork) scallops melted in our mouth. Was trying to enjoy or meal when a party of 8 were seated 2 feet away and wanted to comment on or food and talk so loud we could not have our conversation. Each time the staff serviced their table they had their butt in our face. When done it took a good 20 min to get our check, we were so glad we paid with cash and did not have to wait for the waitress to pickup the check or bring back a card. Over all we would definitely be back for the food and hopefully service will be a bit better. read more
