    Chicken Over Rice Bowl
    Nicole F.

Huge portions for $12 and the chicken was really tender. Just fyi, the mild is still a little spicy and there was no red sauce, so I guess the seasoning (and pepper they added) was spicy. The food also came out relatively quickly too, even though there was only one person working. We also tried the fries and onion rings, which were also large portions. The fries were good, the onion rings were ok. I bet the fries would be really good with the meat! Would love to try that next time

We were hungry and saw this place had great reviews. Halal food is one of our favorite cuisines and we were looking forward to eating there. We both ordered Gyro Over Rice Bowl, which comes with cubed gyro, basmati rice, lettuce, tomatoes, and onion. The food looked and smelled good. Despite claiming to be a Mediterranean "fast food" restaurant, we waited about 15 min before our names were called. The rice lacked flavor and tasted bland. The gyro meat was borderline salty. The vegetables were fine as they were. Personally, I didn't appreciate that they pre-added the white sauce all over the bowl. We also noticed that there's a window into the kitchen that draws smoke into the dining area. It's apparent that they tried to copy Halal Guys' concept but failed miserably. This place gets 2 stars; we wouldn't eat here again.

    Manhattan Rice Bowl

Chop House Gyro offers solid food but lacks in service. I tried the Manhattan Bowl, and while the flavors were satisfying, the experience was dampened by slow and inattentive service. The gyro meat was well-seasoned, and the bowl was filling, but I expected quicker service. Worth a try if you don't mind waiting a bit for good food.

I hate that I have to leave a review like this but the food was actually pretty good, the lamb and steak was tender and the whole meal was tasty. Service could have been better however the one thing that made this review bad was that they had roaches. I usually try to put that kind of stuff out of my head but I couldn't shake this and even grabbed a picture of it. I don't want to bash on local business but for anyone like me, I would check other options..

WOW, large portions and a slightly different take on things. I got the gyro salad (trying to be little healthier to hit those new year's goals) and the gyro is chunky! They are so tender and juicy, I almost prefer them this way... I love that you can order spicy level (I wish I could handle more but I just can't!) and have the sauce on the side. Personally, not a fan of my salad swimming in sauce, but the hubs does and he gladly had his with all sauce and glory. There is something for everyone here. My teen loves wraps and got a gyro wrap. It's big so she saved 1/2 half to her lunch the next day. She got the combo which comes with a drink of your choice and small container of hummus. The little one got a kid's size chicken bowl, which comes with well seasoned chicken atop rice and a mini side salad. She was happy to get the sauce on the side as well and able to choose mild spicy level. The hubs is on a special diet and the was able to find something he could have! He got the grilled chicken salad with all the works, medium spice level and white sauce. Finished his whole platter in less than 5 minutes. The space is very inviting and they had large tables! We felt very comfortable eating there. There are cups for water. For sure, our new fave spot, we'll be back to try some of the other dishes, like falafel, lamb, etc.

I had Manhattan Style Salad Bowl. It was fresh and nice. A great way to try the chicken, beef, and Falafel. The pita bread was warm and fluffy.

After waiting 10 mins for a gyro sandwich, my name was finally called out to pick it up. Wow, how disappointing - served a cold sandwich, gyro meat was even cold, and the pita seemingly not even baked. Sad.

All I can say is we love love loved the Gyros... chicken or lamb you can't go wrong... the service was perfect. The place is a little miss leading because it's very basic... for me that says it all!!! They aren't flashy... the just make a great product. The chickens flavor is next level and the gyro meat is fresh... in fact all of it is fresh... it's our first time here and we will 100000% be back.

Food is great! Taste like gyros from NYC, which I couldn't really find anywhere in Dallas.

Husband ordered their beef plate with rice and salad for $14.99. Both plates came with a huge pita bread. Portion sizes were huge! I really liked their pita bread. It was really good and chewy. Only downside is their meat. They give you a lot, but the chicken was dry and overcooked. They also slice the meat really small, so I wasn't a fan of that. Beef was cooked well, but wasn't a fan of the small slices of meat. They don't have water, only bottled water in the fridge. They do have a hot water dispenser though. Friday night around 7, not busy at all. Overall, it wasn't bad. I would be fine with just an order of their pita bread with hummus.

We weren't disappointed: food was fresh & delicious, portions were generous and atmosphere was nice & clean. Only reason I didn't give them 5 stars as they didn't have any of the dips, sauces, etc on hand to sell like at the Farmers Market - they said they were out and making more soon. If you like Mediterranean give this place a try.

No surprise that parking is more challenging now since there are quite a few businesses, but not a lot of space to maneuver or park. In fact, I almost got in an accident coming here! The Madina Halal Grill has expanded from a small hole in the wall, to two holes. LOL! It looks like the took over the area next door and connected them with a small doorway. What is great about this is that the initial room is great for placing your order, looking at the menu, chatting with the staff, paying, and waiting around for your food to come out. The next room over is great for finding a seat, relaxing, and eating without being jostled by people coming and going. Food was pretty good. I forgot to specify the bread wrap, so my sandwich was more like panini than a shawarma. My husband was less than enthralled. He wasn't a fan of the lamb mix, but that is to be expected as he didn't grow up with it and hasn't learned to acquire a taste for it. Staff are really friendly here. Food comes out quickly and remains hot on the way home.
