Second time here. Each time, I've gotten a salad with one add on and a pretzel stick with salt. Today's total is $14.49. This time I got the tuna. Decently tasty. Appreciated that the tuna salad wasn't salty but it sure is "wet". Not sure balsamic is the best dressing for it. However, I agree with a previous reviewer that the portions are a bit small. The salads are definitely not 85% full. I poured the croutons in, left the dressing untouched, and it weighed 13.3 ounces lidless. By the way, that's with tuna salad which I assume would be heavier than most other proteins because of the mayo etc. With the pretzel, it does fill me up and I LOVE chopped salads so I'm used to the density factor. But I would agree with the other reviewer that the portion sizes are maybe off. I'm used to other meal salads being two meals for me as I often order yummy salads from breakfast places such as Two Chicks and Sunrise Cafe and they always provide breakfast, lunch, and snack for me. Pegs used to make a wonderful salad but they went to a reduced menu. The salad itself tasted fresh and was crunchy as I subbed romaine instead of their house mix of iceberg/spinach. But I watched the guy make a salad from the drive through window and he grabbed the spatula top which touched the food without gloves-they were stored top up in some jar :( That's gross. I know they're new but they're not that new. They have some processes to clean up. By the way, the young woman working the drive through was fabulous. Hayley maybe? I weighed the salad because the manager was defending the portions of the salads in a reply. And in all honesty, it's fine for one serving. And I really appreciate the drive-through. If they opened at 7am, I'd buy more salads here instead of Sunrise or Two Chicks simply for the drive through. Pretzel stick is yummy! I can understand all the four and five star reviews. The salad was indeed nice and fresh and there was plenty of it. Also reasonably priced. My issue was how super small all the ingredients were. Look closely at the pictures here; they're accurate. Everything is cut super tiny! I got the Ceasar Salad with Chicken. At first, I thought they forgot the chicken because I was expecting 'chunks' of meat. No, they didn't forget, the chicken was there, it was just tiny cubes about 2-3 ML square. All the other ingredients were this size as well. Any smaller and I could have taken it down as a drink. So, if you don't mind the tiny sizes, it was great. Steve, Very kind of you to offer a refund, however I don't believe I'm deserving of one frankly. It's not like I was misled or didn't get what I paid for. You and your staff deserve to be paid, in my opinion. My comments concerning the small size was merely personal preference, not any sort of shortcomings on the part of your restaurant. read more

The staff was very informative in the drive thru to help us understand the menu and how to order. My 8 year old actually decided he wanted one too so I had to turn around and help him pick out his toppings. When I first saw the ad for the chop stop I got excited. Back in Southern California at my favorite restaurant I always enjoyed a chopped salad. The carbs salad was my favorite. So I went to the chop stop with my gal and I ordered a chopped Cobb salad and she ordered the Asian shop salad. We took them home into our greatest delight they were absolutely delicious with lots and lots of excellent ingredients. Now I will be able to enjoy my experience at least once a week. I ordered a delivery of a "make your own" salad for lunch today. It was made quickly, and when it arrived the lettuce and other ingredients were fresh. It was made exactly how I specified and was delicious. My only hesitation about ordering from here again is that it is really pricy. A salad without any meat (which can cost from 1$ - 2.50$ extra) was already 12.95$ prior to any taxes. So while the food is good, it's a bit unaffordable compared to other options. Update: Bumping this down to a 3 star review for management... Initially I left 4 stars, subtracting one due to the price. I received an email from owner Steve stating that he was "Just curious where there are comparable salads for cheaper than that", which seems ill-willed. He also gave me a total break down of salad cost and profit margin in an attempt to persuade my opinion... I left a 4 star review initially, not a 1 star. I didn't very much appreciate the negative and passive-aggressive tone for having left a pretty decent review. Recent Reno transplant from NYC. Salad restaurants are the norm there and usually on every other corner. I'm thrilled to have found Chop Shop here in Reno. It's tucked away in the back of a busy shopping center. I had the Chop Stop Classic and it was delicious. They make the salads very quickly. Excited to try more of the menu. read more

As a fellow salad lover, I don't know how people can eat these sloppy salads?? The lettuce and whole mix was so soggy, no crunch at all! I ordered Romain & iceberg, carrots & apples..still no crunch! Not what I expected. Got the Santa Fe chop and honestly it tasted the same as a Walmart salad you get off the shelf. The chicken pieces were small diced and just not what I expected. paying $13.00 for a salad I would have expected better taste than those sold at Walmart for $5 and the taste is identical. Stumbled across this place by looking for local places to eat lunch. Ordered online and was at first a little overwhelmed by all the choices, but quickly fell in love with them! I built my own salad with 6 toppings, nothing premium since it was my first time trying it. After tax, came out to just under 10 bucks. I arrived a little early to pick it up and was immediately greeted and advised it was being made. No problem, gave me time to check out the inside. First impression was it was VERY clean inside. My salad was ready in a maybe a minute after arriving? Awesome. I had a quick question about how long the business had been open and let the 2 workers know it was my first time trying it. One of them gave me a menu to take with me and a quick tip about the burrito bowls (I think that's what they are called). Very happy with that interaction. The salad was made great and had a very good weight to it. I love the chopped idea as its easier to eat, but also takes longer, making me feel like there was a lot of food (and there was). The separate dressing container was more than enough for me, I only used half as I don't like a really wet salad. Really appreciated all the toppings being mixed in and not just piled on top. I am a little stubborn and would have loved a bit more on the toppings, but I have to tell my self this was a salad bowl, not a toppings bowl! Next time I may not do 6 different toppings, but double up on a few. Based on some earlier reviews, it looks like the pricing structure has had some changes, and I find them to be appropriate. I would pay this price for a salad in a restaurant, but this is faster and I think more fresh. Assuming you don't add a ton of premium toppings, its well worth the cost. I have to say that this place is way to expensive. Not worth it. Carl's Jr. salad is better than theirs. So I am going to elaborate, I felt the price was way to high and there was hardly anything in it. I ordered a grilled chicken Caesar salad and I ordered a side, which is microscopic. The amount of chicken in the salad made me question if there was chicken in it. Even the croutons were tiny. I guess if I am paying that much for a salad, I imagine one from BJs that has strips of grilled chicken across the lettuce and huge croutons. read more
