Happened to be in the area while needing a quick lunch stop, and the name sparked some interest. Plenty of parking in the shopping center, and the interior seating was limited but clean and not too crowded. Highlights: Reasonable number of options on the menu, from french dip to salad, to a reuben. Looked up reviews prior and decided on the cranberry turkey sandwich (which for some reason is not on the main menu, just a big poster near the seating area) and a side of the "signature" mac & cheese. Good value to make it a meal with either chips, salad, or soup plus a fountain drink. The sandwich overall was well made and tasty. Interestingly, you can get a 4" option (as well as 6" and 8"). Lowlights: The massively hyped "ultimate comfort food" mac & cheese was mushy but not especially cheesy. For $7.99 for a small, would definitely skip unless this just happened to be a bad batch. Also, the signature item, the sourdough, was pretty bland. Not tangy and no crunchy crust. Seemed for the most part like grocery store sourdough or even just a french loaf. OMG one of the best deli sandwiches I've had in years! If all their meats are as premium as the Turkey, it is the only place anyone choosy should have a sandwich. I am a purist about my Turkey and the bread it is served on, if they are great, that's all I want perhaps with butter, salt and cheese. And this Sourdough and Turkey are beyond great!! Staff are also kind and helpful, opening doors for this disabled old lady and/or bringing out to my car when I needed it. I love a good sandwich and I'm so happy to have finally tried this place! Located in the Galleria shopping center, it was surprisingly slammed on a weekday at noon. We waited 20 min for our sandwiches after placing our order. I have been back since my first visit and find that ordering online for pickup is the way to go. I got the #3 with turkey and it was great. The bread is tasty, there was a good amount of turkey on the sandwich, and the toppings were fresh. I like the house spread that they offer as well. Ordered the "cranberry turkey" and "garlic pesto" as 4" sandwiches. Loved that you can customize it and sandwiches are made to order. Took five-ish minutes for our sandwiches. Bread was soft. Not super tangy like you would expect with sourdough. Cranberry turkey was good, but would recommend adding more cranberry. Garlic pesto was just ok. I have developed a huge craving for the fire roasted vegetable soup. It's not available every day and sells out fast because it is so incredible. Big chunks of well cooked vegetables are dunked in a flavorful broth. Served with a a side of their incredible sourdough bread, this is a meal in itself. I also order a large Italian salad to go. The salad is nice and crispy with lots of salami, cheese, red peppers, and artichoke hearts. I substituted the artichoke hearts for olives. It was enough for me to have dinner for three night. I have visited several times and the quality of food is always amazing. The employees are friendly and knowledgeable about the food, which is a bonus. read more

Went for an order from the "Too good to go app" which offers food that is left over towards the end of the day that is offered at a discount so it's not thrown out. I received two notifications today that there was a surprise bag of bread and one of soup. I was quick to claim as I was heading out to another nearby store and wanted to see what I could get! I looked at the menu for today and saw the soups of the day were Broccoli and cheese and Vegetable so was excited as I like both of those soups! I checked in with I presume the manager and he helped me confirm my order on my phone app. He brought me a bag of French bread odds and ends and a bag with two small cups of soup indicating today was Chili. I was disappointed but knew it's whatever you get as a "surprise" bag. The bags are shown to be worth $15 but you pay $5 fcan't be too choosy I guess! I don't believe the chili was worth $15 as it was two small cups but it was hot and tasted good. The French bread pieces were soft and there were a couple good size pieces included. I don't know if I'll get a "surprise " bag again but may go back for a sandwich as they have a good menu and it's clean inside. read more

First let me say the service here was great. And the food tasted like they were using quality ingredients. Including the fresh sourdough. That said, the brisket sandwich just didn't do it for me. It didn't feel composed. It just seems like every other sandwich with a little bit of brisket on it. The brisket was totally lost to the tomatoes and the sourdough. It could have been any meet in the sandwich. They certainly don't highlight the brisket. I'll probably try the place again and see if maybe a different sandwich is a bit more curated. read more

We drove to the other side of town for a sandwich glad we did! Our food was really good! I had a pastrami Reuben sandwich and my husband got a turkey and salami sandwich with a cup of clam chowder. My Reuben was warm and on yummy crusty bread with a nice balance of meat, sauce, cheese and sauerkraut. My husband also said he really enjoyed his sandwich. They were really busy, and it took about 20 minutes to get our food. But the staff was really friendly and apologized multiple time for the wait. I came here on a Sunday for dinner we ordered smoked brisket and caprese. The smoked brisket was filled with so much sauce the wrapping was so wet this is probably why they wrapped it twice and tape it so much like it's a Christmas present. It mostly filled with lettuce and tomato not a lot of brisket. Brisket was actually very flavorful seasoned very well. The sourdough bread was very stale either it was old batch or it was overcooked in the oven but it was hard to eat. Caprese had a sweet and sour taste and the bread was the same stale. The bun was a little too crunchy for me, the beef was shredded like something from a can, the cheese was thin and not much, very little tomato and their house blend of sauce was average in flavor. Overall, a small sandwich with skimpy portions for a hefty price. Two weeks before I had a sandwich made up at the Sprouts deli nearby and it was very superior and slightly more than half the price. Even Subway (which I consider average) is better and less expensive. Do yourself a favor and patronize another place. read more

First off, their bread is awesome. My wife and I have been there twice now, the first time neither of us were impressed so we tried it again, ordering different food. Same thing, not impressed. The first time I ordered the French Dip. They put their "House Sauce" on it which ruined the sandwich. Not a fan. The second time I decided to go with a safe bet and ordered the Italian. When I asked what was on it the lady said their "House Sauce". I told her I didn't want the House Sauce I only wanted Italian dressing. I was then told they don't have Italian dressing????? Came in on a Tuesday for Lunch, greeted promptly and was told they were short staffed so the wait might be a little longer (totally fine and loved the heads up!) , the menu is pretty dang big: sandwiches, salads, soups, flatbreads. Tried this new spot last night. Nice decor inside. Super clean as it's brand new. The sandwiches are good. Not GREAT. But good. The bread is really good. Here's why it's 3 stars and not 4. For a 4" sandwich, an 8" sandwich and a drink, it was $34. That was with no extras. I honestly don't think Sparks is willing to support a sandwich place at this price point. It's definitely better than porto and subway tho. It was clear they're still figuring things out as it took quite a while to get our order but I get it takes time to build up the speed. Got home and alas no extra mustard and no cheese. Severely lacking on the meat for the 12 dollar price tag, bread was great. The brisket sandwich was very weighty before unwrapping. However like the pastrami sandwich severely lacking brisket but loaded with wet coleslaw. What brisket there was had a good smoke flavor but was definitely lost in the amount of coleslaw. I wanted to like this place more than I did. The bread is genuinely good -- probably the best part of the meal -- but almost everything else felt underwhelming. First off, the restaurant layout is weird. You order and pay right at the front, which turns the entrance into a bottleneck. When it's busy, it gets super claustrophobic and uncomfortable fast. Not a great first impression. Then there's the water situation. No free water cups. Charging for tap water is wild -- honestly feels borderline criminal in a fast-casual sandwich spot. Huge pet peeve. They told me a bottle water was cheaper? Wtf. Food-wise: I got a chicken sandwich, and it just didn't work. The chicken tasted like basic frozen, reheated chicken, nothing fresh or special. The seasoning was too heavy and not well balanced, and the sauces were pretty meh overall. The ingredients besides the bread felt weak. I was also disappointed they didn't have fresh jalapeños, only breaded ones, which felt like another shortcut. We also got the mac and cheese, and it was just mid -- not bad, but nothing special at all. To make things worse, we were given chocolate milk that was expired, which really shouldn't happen at any restaurant. Prices are on the expensive side for what you get, which makes all of this harder to overlook. If the ingredients were higher quality, maybe -- but they're not. Overall, I feel mixed. The bread is good. I had a sourdough flat bread, chicken bbq. It was flavorful. My friend had the pastrami sandwich. He said it was good. We ordered the Mac and cheese, please don't. The Mac was over cooked not creamy but thick. Overall we are willing to come back and try different items. Don't be in a rush or too hungry! The employees were a little stressed out. Fresh ingredients, full of flavor, delicious, and convenient!! Today is my first time trying Sourdough & Co because I was hesitant due to the rating on Yelp. I'm happy to say though that like many other Reno/Sparks restaurants, the restaurant is much better than the hyper critical reviews online. What we ordered: Turkey and Pastrami, Brisket, Greek salad, and a macadamia nut cookie. The workers were nice and attentive, the restaurant is clean and tidy, no dust or clutter. The bathrooms were also very clean. I ordered my food and it was made right away. Like any sandwich place, it isn't going to be two minutes to get your food, they make each sandwich to order. Both our sandwiches were perfectly crafted, good amount of meat and vegetables. The bread was delicious sourdough and tender to bite through but sturdy enough that it didn't get soaked through with sauce. The Greek salad was fresh and flavorful and so much bigger than I thought it would be which was a welcome surprise. They have lots of sandwich options, specialty sandwiches like a French dip (yum), soups every day including clam chowder, flatbreads, salads, a large variety of chips, and I'm seeing a signature Mac n cheese being consumed by the lady at the next table and she keeps telling me it's super yummy so I know what I want to try next. All and all, zero complaints about this place. They have so many things I want to try like the cranberry turkey sandwich. They also do catering apparently too. The place is small. It's wasn't too busy when I got there but definitely got busy fast. The customer service is not the best. They are new so I'm hoping it's just because of it being new and figuring things out. They seem a bit disorganized. I ordered a 4 inch which was $10. I ordered the caprese sandwich and my husband got a 6inch Turkey sandwich which was $12. We made them both meals. I got a small cup of soup and a beverage. My husband got chips and a drink. The total was about $40. It seemed a bit pricey in my opinion. I love caprese sandwiches but the one I got here was underwhelming. They somehow forgot the balsamic glaze and pesto, I unfortunately didn't notice till I got home. They took 25 min to get my order out. That is long for two small sandwiches and a soup. They also forgot my soup and it was so busy so it was hard to get anyone's attention to help me with my order. We are so glad we came here! We got the pastrami Rueben (9/10) and the turkey pesto sandwich (8/10). By far the best hot pastrami here in Reno/sparks. It took about 15 minutes for our two sandwiches, but we did come at 3:30pm so that seems to be a popular time. The ambiance was nice and the bathrooms are clean.
