Delicious and fresh! I tried two separate 5-item combinations, one with all the major fish and the other with remaining items including edamame and spicy salmon. I chose half salad and half sushi rice for the base and had proteins in both bowls mixed in their panzu (?), spicy mayo, and hot chili oil sauces, so good! For any first timers considering this place to eat, start off your poke bowl with a base ( salad, sushi rice, brown rice, or white rice), protein (tuna, salmon, shrimp, etc.), sauce (spicy mayo, panzu, wasabi mayo, chili oil etc.), then toppings ( so many! Obsessed is an understatement. Fresh, tasty variety of ingredients and sauces. Great portion of fish for the price (perhaps those complaining it's not cheap enough have never worked in the restaurant industry and don't understand how pricing works). So we randomly found this little place on Yelp, and it was pretty great I was very happy with the quality of the proteins. The spicy tuna I got was great, since it actually had a kick to it! And the octopus my boyfriend got was pretty darn tender. Anyway, I didn't care too much for the salmon or ahi tuna I got in my bowl, next time I'm going 3-scoops of spicy tuna 2-scoops octopus Also, the extra ingredients you can add, along with the sauces. Our new favorite spot! My boyfriend is their number one customer- he goes daily. So so happy to have a place like this open up in such close proximity to the uc/iv. Yes these may be considered "expensive" but you really shouldn't be eating a bowl of fresh raw fish for under 10 dollars! My favorite part is all the amazing unlimited toppings. My friend got a regular w/ 2 scoops salmon, 1 scoop ahi tuna, seaweed salad, cucumber, ginger on sushi rice with a mix of spicy mayo and their house ponzu. For the price charged, it wasn't as big as I thought and the amount of ingredients they gave was small. But my friend satisfied her poke craving. We both got drinks at sno-crave and I could not find the yelp thing for that so I'm going to leave this here. We are both from areas that are populated with really good boba places (626 representtt). I wanted a mango green tea w/ lychee jelly but they accidently gave me a green milk tea. Probably my fault for not confirming so no problem with that. Honestly if it weren't for the lychee jelly, it would have been tasteless. The milk tea was watered down too much for my liking. Would not get again. My friend got a honey green tea w/ aloe vera. The server was nice, but when I walked in he was sitting on his phone and it wasn't until his friend told him that I was waiting that he decided to get up and help. I got a bowl with sushi rice topped with three scoops of protein (I chose edamame, octopus and shrimp) then you choose sauces (e.g. miso and spicy mayo) and then you top it with seasoning and/or toppings like Krab or seaweed or other sushi type stuff. I really love Choppa Poke, I have tried many pokes from all over and this is such a solid place. They are quick, the sauces are excellent, the fish selection is super fresh and includes yellowtail and octopus (woohoo!), and all of the toppings are awesome. My recommendations: Garlic chili sauce, Yellowtail (super fresh, and I work at a very expensive japanese restaurant), tempura and garlic on top. I'm not sure if there are other poke places around here in Goleta, but this place definitely has a "home away from home" feel to it. Originally being from the Bay Area and moving down here I really started to miss good quality raw fish, so when I found out about this I was so excited to try it out!! It is a bit on the pricier side, but definitely worth it!! Nice little spot. I went in for a quick lunch and was very pleased. All the fish tasted fresh and the sauces and condiments we tasty. The bowl was a little pricey, but on part with getting sushi. My only issue was that the warm rice heated the fish and sides up over time, so it lost some of the freshness it had. Either way I would come here again. read more

Ok so I have been here twice in 4 days! I really like this place as it feels like an LA place here in SB. The poke bowls are reasonably priced and the fish tastes really good (not fishy). I like the sushi rice base, and the spicy mayo sauce. It's fun customizing the bowls and you can get a lot without having add on prices! The seafood and such tasted great! I came here twice and got the regular and large bowls, respectively, since the regular during my first visit did not fill me up. Both times, I was very hungry, but neither size filled me up all the way. I wish their portions were larger or they put more toppings/protein in! I came here with friends and my boyfriend, and most said the same thing. Sauces, toppings, and seafood tasted great, but if only they gave me money's worth! Staff was friendly, but they definitely showed signs of new employment. At Sno-cone on the other side of the room (boba place), they were backed up on orders because they didn't make their fresh boba pearls before the previous batch ran out. We ended up waiting 30-40 mins. to get our drinks and I ordered mine without any boba pearls in it. I got the strawberry yogurt smoothie; it was okay. It was tangy from the yogurt more than I would have liked and it was also runny, like thick juice instead of more like a smoothie. I'll probably be coming in once every couple of months as 12.50 for a large bowl (or 10.50 for regular) that doesn't get me full or a 5.00 drink that takes 20+mins. to receive isn't quite worth a more frequent visit. They are always busy when lunch time most of time I use grub hub easier and no need to wait. There were couple times when my coworkers all craving for some poke we did group order.
