I've read lot of negative reviews on Yelp for Pokemee and it looks like they worked out all their kinks. They were not skimpy on their portions and they didn't charge anything extra except for the tamago (grilled egg). The employees were friendly and very accommodating even when we asked them to add one more topping after we had paid. The food was really fresh and delicious. We also ordered a boba which lot of yelpers seemed to have complained about due to slow service but it was ready in couple of minutes. They were pretty busy too. I'd love to go back when I'm in the area. read more

PokeMee is a fairly new, up and coming restaurant that resembles Miso Hungry and/or Panda Express/Chipotle for sushi. You start with a base (white rice, sushi rice, brown rice, or salad). I typically do the half and half of sushi rice (because who doesn't like vinegar/sugar based rice)? The next is protein- depending on if you get the 3 or 5 scoop option, you can mix it up with sashimi, such as salmon, tuna, spicy tuna, yellowtail, albacore, and many more delicious options. There are also vegetarian options like edamame, and tofu that you can add as your protein. Any extra protein is $1.50. Then comes the rest of the symphony. The sauces and toppings. I typically like getting the cucumber, red onions, fish egg/roe, crab meat (for an extra $.50??), ginger, and fried garlic... ohhhhhh yeah. That's the good stuff. The 5 scoop portion is more than enough. I was pretty darn full. I also got a mango green tea boba. It wasn't overtly sweet, which is nice, considering I love tea. The reason why I'd give this place 4/5 stars is the price. It is expensive, especially when you start adding extra toppings and protein. I paid $50+ for 3 meals plus toppings and boba. It adds up quick. Even with the 10% check in offer, we all know that's only tax! Other than that, I would recommend this place to my friends and fellow yelpers if you're into poké! read more

I don't give many 5-star reviews but after having eaten here 10+ times, I believe it's totally deserving of such a high honor! You start by picking your size and base. The sizes just equate to the amount of protein scoops you'll get and the bases are various rice types or lettuce. I always go with the classic sushi rice. They don't overload your bowl with rice (that's a good thing). Then you pick your protein. I've never been to a Poke place that serves this much fish! One scoop literally equals three scoops. If you order a medium (3 proteins) bowl, you'll get at least 9 scoops of fish. The fish available typically includes ahi tuna, yellowtail, salmon, scallops, albacore, spiny tuna and spicy salmon. Then you'll choose some add-ins to be mixed with the fish and whatever sauces you want. I go classic ponzu and some spicy mayo. The fish and add-ins get mixed in a bowl with your chosen sauce(s). Then they place it on top of your base. You move down the line and pick from a bunch of extras (all included with the original cost): California roll krab, masago, fried onion/garlic, edamame, etc. A LEGIT medium bowl will run you about $14 out the door, but it's totally worth it. If only I lived in Santa Barbara so I could have this all the time!! So good, so fresh. I get too much wasabi sauce every time and I'm always tearing up but man it's just so good. The portion sizes seem generous to me so I didn't leave wanting for more. One piece of advice - skip the spicy fish and go for the normal ones which are chunks of meat cut up instead of chopped up like the spicy tuna etc. maybe some folks like the spicy versions but the consistency I don't love. Pokeeee! I usually come here after for my post yoga meal. Food- The fish is fresh! I really really like tuna so I choose the spicy tuna or tuna. When deciding on which sauce, I recommend mixing 2 or 3 of the sauces. I realized it was more flavorful when it was a mixed sauce. There are a variety of add ones to choose from. The seaweed salad is good, but they ran out last time I went boo :( Interior- Lots of tables to sit at. There's a long high table in the middle. It's bright inside and there are games to play too. I played Jenna with my friends last time and I won lol. Cool place to chill and eat. Overall, pokemee is definitely my go to poke place. First scoop of crab meat, seaweed salad and masago were free. Location: If you live in IV, you'll need a car or have to take public transportation to get here. Atmosphere: The inside of the shop is actually half poke shop and half boba shop. There's a good amount of seating space inside and it's clean. Never in my life have I had to dig through my bowl just to PICK OUT pieces of fish. My bowl was absolutely saturated with sauce, and not in a good way. There's two types of Poke Bowls: Regular Bowl: 3 Scoops of any meat Large Bowl: 5 Scoops of any meat You can mix and match these such as getting 2 scoops of Tuna and a scoop of shrimp. You can get unlimited topping too. I recommend the crab meat, masago, wasabi mayo, tuna and cucumber. This place gives a ton of rice even for the half and half salad /rice combo. There is just too much rice even when we requested 3/4 salad 1/4 rice. The boba stand serves strange combinations or styles like Hot Boba, crepes, flavored ice. I've been here a few times and they do miss on the occasional thing, like only having regular bowls one day or no change for cash on another. This place is pretty good even at around $11-13 a bowl. Number one thing in a poke place is cleanliness. I don't trust any poke if the restaurant isn't clean. This place was well maintained and so naturally the fish looked fresh. A poke bowl is rarely the cheapest lunch you can find, but the portion was ample. You load it up with almost unlimited toppings. What's not to like about PokeMee? Servers are pleasant and efficient. Place is clean. The selection of items is vast and fresh at the poke bar. And the price is reasonable for the portions you get. My most recent visit I got a two-scoop bowl and chose salmon and tuna as my two protein options, mixed with wasabi mayo and ponzu sauce, on a bed of baby salad and sushi rice. I opted for several of the mix ins like seaweed salad, Krab salad, masago, cucumbers and topped it all off with crispy fried onion and garlic and the sesame/seaweed sprinkles.
