Fast, Delicious and fresh! I had a poke bowl with tuna, salmon, and shrimp! Added tempura with a delicious crunch and went with the chili sauce! Yum! Been to a couple poke places but the boba tea here was really good! Boba was soft and chewy, not stale or old! I had a rose milk tea boba that tasted so yummy! My mom has a lychee jelly ice that she liked too. Only complaint was when we went the resultant was on the brink of chaos. They were so busy and the people behind the counter were nice enough, but there was an undercurrent of stress and panic as they attempted to fill all the orders for people waiting in line and online orders. This review is only for the boba not the food! I had to give it 1 star because of a very bad experience, I went here sometimes and I don't really like it. The drinks're bland and the boba is not chewy. Today when I went here, the guy who took our order was extremely rude to me(he wore a gold chain necklace). I was just double check the size of what I order because it said large on the screen but I order an x-large. And usually The extra large doesn't charge me for the second topping but he charged me for it so I asked. But he started yelling at me, and asked me "who told you that?". When I gave me the money, he refused to give me the changes back and gave it to my husband. This is a really great place for lunch. I come here about once a month. Paid $13.50 for 5 protein options. Really recommend the spicy mayo and the ahi tuna. I usually add all the greens available. They provide an all salad option, sushi rice, or white rice. IMO: The food is great, but the cost to come here can make this place a little expensive for myself. Quite a late bloomer, but here I am, at the first Poki joint in Goleta. I ordered a regular bowl with 3 scoops of protein (yellowtail, salmon, and tuna) and almost everything they have to offer for topping. As for the sauces, I got miso mayo and spicy mayo. Dont know if by mixing the 2 sauces, the entire thing comes out a bit bland. I had to add a bit of shoyu here and there. I came back to Pokemee to (hopefully) receive a better experience. It was better than last time. Meaning they were only missing 1 fish instead of 3... but once again, there was no more tuna left. If you type in "Poke" into Google Images, the first 10 images are pictures of tuna. It's really disappointing to know that the same problem exists 2 months after my first review. Service could be better, since it sucks looking at someone pick up seaweed salad, decide it's too much, drop it back down into the tray, pick it up again, shake off all the loose pieces, and then finally put it in your bowl. Best poke in Goleta! Prior to Covid, I frequented this place often as it was close to my office. It's in a newer shopping plaza with ample parking, centrally located to most of western Goleta. The restaurant itself is a large room broken up into a poke bar and a boba bar, with a good amount of tables. There are also a number of board games at the ready which makes for a fun experience. The poke bowls come in a few sizes and feature a variety of toppings and options. It's cafeteria-style where the employee makes it up right before your eyes. I like this style of serving because you know exactly how your food is prepared - especially important when raw fish are in the equation. I've found the staff's procedures to be sanitary, and the items are consistently presented fresh. The bowls are positively loaded with flavor. I can consume it and not feel like I'm loading my body with junk. It's a nice cool treat on a warm day. The next time I find myself in western Goleta, I'll be sure to stop back in! read more

Came in when it was busy, one word: Amazing. As I was waiting in line, they had tv shows playing on the tv. Wow, what a great way to pass the time in line. When one of the servers were ready to serve me, I was greeted with a nice "what can I get you". Amazing service. The atmosphere of this place is great, they also play awesome/trendy music. I always get the Ahi tuna, Salmon, and yellow tail. For sauce; ponzu and a touch of chili oil. For toppings I usually mix it in while they mix the sauces; FRIED ONIONS (must have), plain sesame seeds, green onions, cilantro, and seaweed salad on the side of the bowl. Overall, service is quick food is great and the vibe you get from this place is fantastic. If you're a vegetarian, you can find that there's only a limited amount of options you could do (tofu and edamame). But I don't think poke is suppose to be vegetarian, most poke involves fish. read more

Thinking we could not understand mandarin, we later heard one of the female employees speaking to her colleagues pretty loudly about us and mentioning how disgusting we were as customers. In her exact words "Those two people who just came in, one male and female, having a bowl of poke bowl. Don't you think they are very disgusting?" I was extremely astonished to hear what she had said given that we did absolutely no wrong. And still find it puzzling why she would have said that. While we did not confront about the issue, we later walked over and spoke in mandarin, to let her know we understood mandarin too. I guess it's just having a certain amount of basic respect and EQ to not badmouth about your customers so loudly. I hope the boss of this outlet is reading this and would educate your staff about customer service. I've never felt so much humiliation while dining. read more

I love this place!! would almost give them 5 stars, but I think they could improve in consistency. Clean space, tucked away in the Hollister shopping center, behind the new CVS. I discovered this spot last December thanks to the SB Axxess card. The food is fresh (one time my sushi rice was dry) and I've never had to wait long. Recently I discovered that I could order from them through doordash delivery. This has been great, except that it isn't always consistent. Edit June 2018: price has gone up twice now for the food. Cant afford to eat here as often anymore, and the portions seem to be getting smaller. My co-worker said if I liked sushi I should try this place. So I took his advice and he wasn't lying. Even though it's more of a sushi bowl it is very good. I had never been here before so it was a little hard to find. It's tucked behind a furniture store on the right side of the shopping plaza. I walked in and was greeted promptly and courteously. I explained that i had never been here before and the two staff members walked me through the process step by step and even suggested what was popular. It was pretty simple, like the chipotle of sushi bowls. I wish I remembered the staffs names to give them kudos on here. Both in there early 20s I would say. They worked 4/11/17 at 11:45. If I could, I'd give this place ZERO stars for a number of reasons. On my initial visit, I came here before dinner time and decided on the regular size poke bowl $10.50 which included 3 proteins, base, side, sauce and toppings. The size of the bowl was clearly smaller than the other poke places I've tried throughout the West Coast. It was obvious the owners were purposely using a smaller container to restrict the amount per serving. I found it to be insulting. For the base, you can select from white rice, sushi rice, brown rice or salad. My bowl had the half salad and sushi rice which was a poorly executed given the delicate flavors it is known for. From the protein choices, I picked two servings of the salmon and one of the tunas. These cuts could have fooled me because the tuna did not have a fresh flavor and the quantity was very skimpy. They did a good job of adding your bill quickly by charging extra for crabmeat, avocado, masago and seaweed salad. The young guy who helped me didn't seem too eager to help either. What's so odd is these bowls are usually filling but when I finished it here and was still hungry. Because of the lack of food, I was very troubled and decided not to return because I did not think it justified the cost, quality and the amount of food. But .... it doesn't stop here. Since I decided that I would never to eat here again, I came back to try their boba milk tea on a different day, and that was the worst experience ever. The boba drinks has it's own ordering counter and other people and myself stood in line waiting to place our order. A female employee from PokeMee had to run over and take all of our orders and then return back. It lead to only one girl who was making the drinks. When I finally got up to order my large rose milk tea $5.26, I had a couple questions and the staff was clueless on all her drinks. She had to ask the other staff who didn't speak English and at that point I knew this was going down hill very quickly. After waiting over 20 minutes, the drink was no where in sight and the people in front of me who were waiting didn't get their drinks either. At that point, my time was lost and I went to the poke cashier and asked for a refund. He shrugged his shoulders as if I was speaking a different language. Another girl stepped in to assist with the drinks which they should have done way earlier. I asked for a refund and instead she asked if I would prefer to upsize my drink. I declined because I didn't think it was fair for me to get my drink before the others who were ahead of me and insisted on my refund. She said her manager wasn't around and couldn't authorize a $5.26 refund. You're kidding me?? Finally, the manager walks in and I requested my refund due to the poor service and basically wasting my time for a drink that was nowhere insight. He said his staff are students and it's finals time so he needs to hire more people. Okay, I'm totally for employing students because I was once a student myself but running a business you need to cover all your bases and that means having a sense of quality control. Disappointing from first to last experience. Small bowl size, stingy protein servings, extra costs, staff not able to converse with diners left a horrible taste in my mouth. read more

I just want to say as an alumnus of UCSB, I am so jealous! Poke is currently my favorite meal and this place did not disappoint. Standard poke place, Chipotle style ordering and can take it to go or eat in. I love that they have sushi rice as an option! I ordered a mix of white rice and sushi rice and thought it was perfect to go with the fish. The selection of fish is really good too - I had salmon, tuna, and yellowtail. They have a good mix of sauces (ponzu, spicy mayo, etc) but the best part is that they have little set aside sauces if you want extra. The only thing I didn't really like was that the sides, like the crab salad and seaweed salad, were extra. But considering how massive of a bowl you get, it was an easy pass. The dude that was helping me put so much food in it! AND you can get boba right at the register?! WHAT. I wasn't planning to, but I picked up my go to: a Thai iced tea with boba. My first time having Poke bowl and it was soooo delicious! We came pretty late (30 min before closing) so we expected they'd run out of their most popular item which is the spicy tuna. Canaan is like the nicest dude and is more than happy to serve you. I wouldn't say they're skimpy either; I had the perfect balanced bowl every time (I ended up ordering twice hehe). For sauce it's very tasty when you combine spicy mayo and spicy ponzu. Price is reasonable especially when you check in for the 10% discount. Meh. This is a little belated, as I went to their soft opening when they first came to Goleta. Poke is a part of Hawaiian cuisine that's slowly swam its way into hip, trendy Southern Californian joints, and people are obsessed. Although not much of a raw fish aficionado, I love anything that's new and gives me a reason to reassure my mom that I've eaten something that wasn't bread or deep-fried in the last week. For a soft opening, all the elements were there: harried workers, limited menu, line going out the door. Those are all things I don't believe influenced my review, but definitely something to note. They have a cool boba shop called Sno-Crave in there that I wasn't able to try, but I certainly will when I return for the cool glasses they serve them in. As for PokeMee, I'm not sure I can say the same. The ingredients were all fairly good quality -- the fish didn't smell of anything other than the sauces they were marinated in. I definitely noticed that the crab meat that I paid an extra amount for was imitation crab meat. It just didn't have that same texture or taste that ordinary crab meat does. That's definitely a skip if I choose to return for the poke. I got a large bowl with salmon, yellowtail, albacore, shrimp and tuna. The shrimp was legitimately difficult to find after mixing my bowl together. I know that out of five proteins, finding one would be difficult, but I genuinely felt like I was chewing and everything was the same fishy texture. The edamame offered as a protein might be an interesting option to shake up the feeling of what I'm chewing if I return. Aside from that, while it was a functional meal and I didn't get food poisoning, it was one of those cases where I hear someone going, "I eat to live, not live to eat." It's sustenance, but it didn't quite dazzle me the way it did others. For roughly $12 for a full price large bowl, I think I'd rather make my own poke bowls at home. read more

Thank goodness there's finally a poke place in Goleta. Decent but definitely overpriced (although expected of most places in SB/Goleta). The fish here is soft and fresh. Rice options are sushi rice, white, and brown. There is also the salad option. Refer to the pictures of the menu to see the options. I got the regular bowl but asked for placing everything in the large bowl so that it was easier to mix and eat. I got sushi rice with 2 scoops of salmon and 1 scoop of yellowtail. Toppings were cucumber, onions, garlic, green onions, seaweed, and avocado. Refer to my picture. My cons for this place: 1. Overpriced with SMALL scoops $10.50 for 3 scoops $12.50 for 5 scoops. 2. Extra for imitation crab meat? I've never thought imitation crab meat was any kind of "premium"... I give this place 4 stars because the fish is delicious and options aren't bad. Pokemee houses Sno-Crave, a Bay Area boba/dessert house, which sells quality boba drinks! It is my favorite place to get boba drinks bc the tea quality is very comparable to other tea shops similar to LA! I noticed that they use Ten-Ren tea, which definitely means they are using quality tea leaves. Their boba is a great chewy consistency and has a nicely sweetened flavor of honey and brown sugar. Although it can be pricey, you really can't beat the quality of the drink in comparison to other places around the area. I find it great that they offer to remake your drink or give you adjustments if you're not satisfied with it :)! read more

Best and only Poke place in SB! Tried the regular size bowl with half sushi rice and half salad and it filled me up. The sauces are amazing and I would totally come back here the next time I travel to SB. The decor is very modern and they play good music and not just the top 40s if anyone cares. I seems like it can be a really nice place for students to hang out because the atmosphere is very laid back with 3 TVs playing a bunch of different things. I like the fact that everyone is super friendly and helpful with those who have never had poke before. Since I've had poke I didn't need the run down but for those who haven't they explain it really well! I can tell by the color of the fish that it is fresh because I am a huge fan of sashimi and I eat it all the time. The salmon, tuna, and yellowtail quality is really good from my personal opinion. I got the ponzu since I like citrus soy sauce and I also get some of their other sauces to dip on the side but I just wish they had something a little more spicy. No big deal though since they have bottles of Sriracha sauce for us to use! They also have a Sno-Crave Tea House inside which is cool too because I can have two things that I crave from LA right in one place. Ordering is simple because I can order by poke bowl and pay for my drink at the same register and they call my drink order when it's ready. Their drinks are really good and I can tell that the tea is fresh and the boba is really tender which means that throughout they they probably switch out their boba or else it sells out (obviously means it taste good). This is the only assembly style poke restaurant that I know in SB besides miso hungry and I throughly enjoyed my meal. You can get a regular with 3 scoops or a large with 5 scoops. I went with 5 scoops (2 salmon, yellowtail, spicy tuna, and tuna). Avocado and crab meat is extra (1 dollar & .50). You get to chose your Sauces and toppings, I went with miso and spicy mayo. Fresh ingredients and overall good meal. Overall the place is great, the servers are nice and there is plenty of seating. There's also a boba tea area that seems legit (tea snob here). Rather average poke bowl joint. I can only imagine the positive reviews are a reflection of that fact that this is nearly the only game in town. The poke bowl itself was good. Decent ingredients that came together well in the bowl for a nice light meal, although nothing particularly outstanding. Counter staff seemed to have limited knowledge of the products they were serving. Especially apparent in that the sno crave beverages can be ordered from the poke bowl counter but those manning the register knew nothing about the drinks. The drinks themselves took a ridiculously long time to come out. It was mentioned they had run out of ingredients and had to get to Costco to get more. Overall experience was just "meh".
