The appearance of this place does not look like much but to my surprise this honestly became one of my favorite spots to grab a few Sushi rolls. For the price you get a great value. My California rolls were rotten and I told the management so they argued with me and refuse to do anything about it and told me that it was fine it was fine that just made the seafood mix yesterday I told them it didn't mean it wasn't bad if it taste fishy and it taste nasty it could have been rotten when they made it. Think mall Chinese food: traffic cone colored orange chicken, sticky sesame chicken, greasy lo mein, two pieces of broccoli stuck in your styrofoam container so it can officially be called "beef with broccoli." That's what you're getting into: bland, comforting "food" in ridiculous portions for five bucks. (I'm shocked at how many Yelpers mention the sushi because there is NO WAY I would trust it at a place this divey, but you do you.) It's not bad, as long as you have low expectations. This is hangover food, plain and simple. I used to come after nights of partying with an ex, and thus have plenty of memories of slouching into this converted McDonald's at 4 pm on a Sunday with four friends in bedhead and sunglasses, rubbing our temples and moaning. Ordered sushi for my daughter Saturday, which is normally pretty good, I spend alot of money at this place, so it was very disappointing when this time around the sushi had a funny taste to it. Called them to let them know and the lady was offended about the complaint, she said Noone else has complained (what tf does that have to do with my daughters tastebud) I just spent almost 20.00 on this sushi and you mean to tell me that you think we're lying to you about the taste, so instead of replacing it and retaining a loyal customer, you say I'll give you 10% off your next order. Oh! But no you won't because you've just lost my business, so you take that 10% and stick it 100%. Chopstick makes the sushi rolls in front of the window, so you know it's freshly hand rolled at the time of order. The rolls are sometimes not the freshest, and that bums me out. However, drive thru Adds a star. They have great egg drop soup and the plates are a great size for the price. The daily specials are great value too! For a fast-food Chinese restaurant, I have to say that this place isn't half bad. The restaurant itself looks like it is the sketchiest, scariest place that would never make anything happen. Even the inside seems unwelcoming with a low ceiling and dark lighting. The service isn't the greatest either because they don't seem as friendly as you'd want them to be. The food there is pretty good, though. Not only is it full of flavor (which can be good and bad), but they give you huge amounts with takeout (I've never had the courage to eat in the restaurant). The food can be overly seasoned, but with it being fast-food, again, it's not that bad. Tons of students come here all the time. It's also pretty darn greasy, greasier than any Panda Express, but gives you more for a lower price. That sushi they have, though...I would stay away from it. I wouldn't trust a place that lets their sushi sit for hours and hours, and the way this place looks physically makes me worried about the safety of eating it. Lots of flavor, lots of grease, and a terrible look, but it definitely suffices on takeout. read more

Chopstick Express is just basically a fast food chinese restaurant with decent food but cheap prices. I only come because of the prices and want to have comfort food after a hard week. I usually get their daily combos which is $5.50, 12 dumplings for $4, milk tea which is $2.00 and hot and sour soup which is $1.50. I think all the food choices I just named are good plus reasonable prices. The food is greasy but what can you expect from a fast food restaurant? I personally think Chopstick Express is better than most Asian restaurants. It has a drive thru if you are too lazy to come into the restaurant lol. So if you are in the Garland area, you should come here. Chopstick Express also serves sushi and their sushi is pretty decent. read more

God awful, I got to the window and I hand the guy a 20 and he gave me back 2$ for a 7$ meal :/ i have really low standards for food but this was not good, the lo mein had an aftertaste like it had been sitting in the garbage for a week and the fumes fused with each noodle, I got the sesame chicken which is made of the bad parts of the chicken, a bunch of slimy orange sauce and the fried part had the texture of week old reheated leftovers. You walk in here and can't believe the amount of food you get for $5 and how tasty it is compared to pracitcally every other fast food Chinese you've ever had. The sushi isn't the best I've ever had, but what you get (again) is above and beyond what you'd expect for the price. The staff are extremely nice, and there's this one short girl that works there with glasses that has the most adorable accent and so nice you'd want to hang out with her outside of the place. Where do I start? Well, this is the best place when you want comfort food for cheap. For 5 dollars you get a styrofoam container full of your choice of Chinese. When I say full, I mean the lid barely closes of how tightly packed to the top it is. You've been warned. ;p Now, on to the taste. I usually get the orange chicken with the fried rice. It's so tastefully rich in flavor that you will want to finish the whole serving! You can rally taste the spices on the chicken, and the fried rice is yummy too. I usually find fried rice to be blend but not at chopsticks! I personally don't like the drinks selection, but that's a minor set back... Actually I kinda like Dr. Pepper. Also, I usually don't like eggrolls, but the ones here are also good! I actually kept one for breakfast one time. Don't judge me. Although the food is great, my favorite thing about this place is the staff. To me customer service is very important when going to places. At chopsticks, they're exceptional. They are very nice and honest. I came through the drive through one night, and somehow I left my card behind. The next day, I looked everywhere. After not finding it, something told me to check back at chopsticks. After going back, sure enough they had saved it for me! :) They asked some security questions then gave me my card back. Disappointed with the sushi, and I have been to many sushi places. Ordered three of the special rolls to try, and all three had excessive amounts of sauce, even the eel roll that was just supposed to have eel sauce. All that sauce made me feel like they were hiding something. At many places, I've ordered special rolls that come with some fancy sauce on top, and never have I seen so much sauce on a sushi roll. It should be drizzled, not dumped. Also, the red snapper was too fishy for me.. Not sure if it's supposed to be that way, as I usually order tuna, yellow tail, white fish, or salmon. read more

One of my favorite fast food Chinese restaurants to go to! It's one of the best places where you get your money's worth, tons of food that is good, fresh, and best of all, extremely affordable!! Whether it's the daily specials, sushi, sushi rolls, volcano noodles, or the magic boxes, I find myself coming here ever since I found out about it at least once a week to bring home food for the family, just 3-4 of their daily specials alone is enough to feed my family of 7 for a day, and yes, we can and love to eat. There is a little bit of a wait sometimes when ordering here (big orders), but that's because they make their food fresh and when you order it, single and small orders are somewhat quick. Therefore, if you're planning on getting a lot of food to-go, just simply make a call and place the order and it's usually all done within 20-25 minutes. It's hard for me to complain quality if the value is worth more than what I'm paying for, therefore, I highly recommend this place if you're looking for good and cheap Chinese fast food that does the job. read more

Their wait times are long. But that's probably because they're actually prepping their food from scratch. The Szechuan ribs are literally my my favorite Chinese meal anywhere. So tender. Perfectly spiced. Always fresh, with lots of veggies. I always pay the extra $1 to get extra veggies and egg etc put in the fried rice (which has no veggies otherwise). For a total of $6.50 I get a meal that is better than any other Chinese food around. Maybe 1 in 10 times the ribs are slightly over cooked, making them a little tough... But they're still delicious. I'm so sad we moved further away so it's now a 30 minute drive to get my favorite Chinese meal. It's totally worth it, as there isn't another Chinese restaurant 1/2 as good in the Rowlett area. This is one of those great finds. I went here years ago when my dad was in Baylor hospital and was impressed then but now I work in the area so I decided to give it a go. It was still here years later, I thought it was closed as Noone is in the parking lot but as I rounded the building there were several cars in the drive through. I've had two different sushi combos, pork lo mein and beef broccoli and have been very happy with this place. I came into this place not expecting too much. It looks kind of dumpy from the outside, but I saw the sign saying they served sushi so I thought I'd give it a try. I had three special rolls and a huge serving of wonton soup for $20 (split between two people and we were both stuffed). Where can you get three huge rolls with extremely decent sashimi for that price (not including at some insanely good happy hour)? I also noticed the other items on the menu and saw the portion sizes from people around me. Two entrees, mountain of fried rice, and an eggroll for 5 bucks?? Easily enough to feed two, or one really hungry person with some leftovers to take home for later. If you are expecting some fancy location, Japanese-esque atmosphere, and ambient music, I might not suggest this place. But if you want some better quality than what you are actually paying for sushi, this place will not let you down. Sushi snobs best probably stay away too, unless they can understand and appreciate that this place isn't a Nobu or Tei-An, and isn't trying to be. For a hole in the wall Chinese joint this place is tops. Everyone is even Asian! Including the ones cooling the food and making the sushi. Everything you order is made after your order it, so it normally takes a little longer than some places, but it's worth it and you will wait for less than 5 minutes. The dining room is clean, and the staff is friendly. But the food is awesome! And plentiful! And affordable! Try some sushi while you're there. It's all good. Watch out for the Volcano thing though. It's good but slathered in some kind of spicy mayo. read more

I L-O-V-E LOVE this place! I have been here a couple of times with my kids and always get out of there for about $3.00/ person! That is for a hot meal healthier than Mickey D's and better tasting! They have combo plates for $5.00 ($5.50 with a drink) that is 2 entree choices, choice of fried rice, steamed rice, or Lo Mein, plus an eggroll and their lunch special is the same, except you get soup with it. The helpings are large enough that at least 2 of us eat off one meal and just add a drink, which have unlimited free refills (and I always end up bringing samples home for the hubby). This visit we added 10 Crab Ragoons for $2.00, and had 3 drinks and still got out of there for around $10.00...can't beat that for the quality of food and the amount served. They have specialty drinks- smoothie and boba tea, but of coarse they are more expensive, and well, I'm on a budget at he moment! :) They have a sushi bar, as well, that I will try when I take my husband on a cheap date! This restaurant is housed in an old McDonald's (was not the reason for the comparison on pricing), and is always clean. They have plenty of booths and a choice of table and chairs, as well. read more

So this place has the best fried rice so far that i have had in Texas. I did take the recommendation from another review and added vegetables to it which is a must. The sushi was not bad either we got the California roll and added cream cheese to it. They did make it right when you ordered it. The portions are huge from this place. I recently came back and was very disappointed. I think the owner changed and everyone who used to work there wasn't there the day I had came. I should've ran out the door at that point but instead, I proceeded on ordering with high hopes that my food would be the same as it always had been. The food was still cheap but the quality and service has gone way down. First, the guy who took order was rude and had no customer service and our food ended up being the last to come out. When our food did come out, lo mein wasn't bad and still tasted the same but the sushi... The sushi was terrible. This was my favorite place to get cheap sushi but now, it may be the worst. The rice was mushy and gross and left me wanting to just spit back out the sushi. I didn't even finish it and unfortunately, we had gotten five sushi rolls.
