Gourmet China in Dallas totally wowed me! I devoured the spicy Szechuan noodles and can't stop thinking about them--plus, the staff treated me like an old friend. Already planning my next visit!

The service was fast and friendly. The restaurant was clean and spacious. The vegetable delight was SO good. Fresh veggies, not overcooked and well seasoned. All food was served piping hot. We'll be back to dine in to avoid all the waste.

    Yummy!

This place was recommended by a local co-worker. I was surprised to have found a hidden gem. Food is made fresh to order portions are huge and very affordable. Not to mentioned the egg rolls are amazing. This place may not look fancy but food is amazing.

A pathetic hot and sour soup, and shrimp curry.

First impression as you walk in, typical hole-in-the-wall Chinese take-out place with limited seating. Cleaner than most, orderly, and well-kept. Small added bonus, a self-serve soda fountain. Most places of this type either serve canned soda or charge for refills. I ordered the shrimp curry with steamed rice and a bowl of hot and sour soup. At $15 with a drink, it's just way too pricey for the mediocre quality you get. I'll be adding a picture to go with it. Its the one with my laptop in the background. I find that hot and sour soup tends to tell a lot about how a Chinese restaurant's quality will be across the board because it's a complex soup that requires a lot of ingredients and takes some skill to get the flavor right. And gourmet this place is NOT. The hot and sour soup was neither hot, nor sour. It was pretty much a thin broth, small pieces of overcooked tofu, peas, a bit of egg, a hint of heat, and a hint of rice wine vinegar, and the overpowering flavor of black sesame oil. No wood ear mushrooms, button mushrooms, bamboo shoots, tiger lily buds, or green onion. The shrimp curry wasn't much better. Small frozen shrimp, about the size you'd use in an alfredo pasta dish, not an entree like this. A thin sauce that was mostly chili sauce and curry powder. Tons of cubed zucchini, which puzzled me since it's not something I think of in a Chinese dish. Peas, and diced onion, and some very dried out rice that needed the thin sauce to give it some life again.

Comfort food at a hole-in-the-wall kind of place. Service is quick. Overall good experience.

I ordered shrimp lo mein to go and it was a greasy pile of spaghetti noodles. Will never go back.

Food is okay, not splendid. Atmosphere is very blue collar, which is fine but not exactly "gourmet."

It was difficult to find parking! We persevered and found free parking within walking distance of Fortune House. Lively atmosphere and the soup dumplings are delicious! We had to place additional orders because they were THAT good. We sampled: - Crab rangoon - Pork xiao long bao (soup dumplings) - Beef noodle soup - Fish filet with wine sauce - Zha jiang mian (fried sauce noodles) - Wonton soup - Fried rice I uploaded 32 photos, although I'm pretty sure Yelp won't include them all with my review.

Perfectly cooked, packed with flavor, and the kind of dish you immediately start craving again a few days later. I can't speak much to the rest of the menu because once I find something this good, I stick with it. My only complaint has nothing to do with the restaurant but parking in Greenville can be a challenge. But the dumplings are absolutely worth the effort. If you're visiting for the first time, do yourself a favor and order the dumplings. I'll definitely be back for them again.

This place is absolutely made for a group outing, and we're already planning to come back with a group to take full advantage. The food was a delight. The Singapore noodles had this wonderful curry flavor that I absolutely loved, and the combo fried rice was just as satisfying. We also ordered the Peking duck (P1 on the menu). It was good, though not quite as flavorful on its own as we'd hoped. That said, once you load it up with the hoisin, cucumber, and spring onions, it all comes together beautifully. The bao buns that came with it were soft and delicious, honestly a highlight. We also sipped on hot jasmine tea throughout, which was the perfect, refreshing complement to the whole meal. A solid spot with great vibes, tasty dishes, and room to grow on us even more with a return visit.

The bbq pork and roasted pork was okay. The bbq pork was lacking flavor and the roasted pork was not very juicy. Overall, we liked majority of our dishes.
