Chopstix is a small restaurant in a strip mall. I actually drove by it at first. I arrived in time to order from the lunch menu. I started with the shrimp tempura roll which was good. It's hard to mess up that basic roll. I was surprised to see the sweet and sour sauce on the side with my sweet and sour shrimp. The sauce was very thin which made it hard to stick to the shrimp. I think if the sauce was thicker it would have been ok to dip or pour over the shrimp. The shrimp themselves were a little over cooked but not bad. It reminded me of Chinese food you'd get in the mall food court.

We had the Mongolian Beef as part of the family dinner, as recommended to us by our server. The chicken spring rolls were a bit thick on the outside, but delicious nonetheless. We also had some sushi that unfortunately lacked a bit of flavor without the soy sauce. The beef itself was heavier on the flour, but the onions in that dish were phenomenal. The staff was very friendly, and the ambiance was nice. They gave us a booth table since they weren't too busy.

My grandpa was excited to try this place. They just recently opened up for dine-in service. Three of went to lunch here on a Sunday, and it wasn't that busy inside but serval people came through to pick to-go orders. The portions are very large and tasted fresh! Three of us each had a cup of soup, shared an order of crab rangoons, and shared the triple delight entree. It was more than enough food, we even had leftovers to take home. The crab rangoons were the star of the show for me, hot and delicious filling with large and crispy wonton wrappers. I could tell they were very fresh. The hot and sour soup was very good too, nice flavor! The wonton strips they brought out with the soups were kind of stale. The triple delight was very good. I was impressed by how tender the chicken and beef were and how fresh the vegetables were! The only downside was that it only had two pieces of shrimp with it, but plenty of other meat! Next time I'd probably try a different entree!

Crispy beef was anything but crispy, a gooey mess. Didn't care for the chicken dish either. First visit. Wasn't for us

I usually come here for dim sum, and it is upsetting for me to say that my husband and I should've chose somewhere else to eat for dinner. For dinner, we ordered fried rice and chow fun. Those two main entrées were okay. You can't really mess up those two fillers at an Asian restaurant. We ordered scallion pancakes- they came out soggy and soft. Not even crispy like how they usually are. The flavor wasn't there either. If I wanted microwaved scallion pancakes, then I would've bought them from the store and made them myself. My husband ordered the short ribs- they were bland and tough like rubber. It had a funky taste to it that he couldn't describe and he had to force himself to swallow it because he didn't want food to go to waste. I ordered the chicken feet- this is one of dim sum's signature dishes and I am so upset I didn't even get to enjoy one of the dishes I always order. It was dry and the flavor wasn't there. The service was fantastic. They checked in on us and made sure our water was filled. The timing of the food coming in and out was fine. The ambiance was inviting. There was a sense of urgency and I appreciated that.

You do have…read moreto pull off of a busy road straight into the lot, but it's easy to find in the strip of stores and there were plenty of spaces. By the time I grabbed our food and headed back out, the front spots had already opened up again. We did two lunch specials for around $20 total, which feels like a steal for how much food you get and how good it was. We ordered the Chicken with Cashew and the General Tso's lunch specials, both came with soup and a side. The cashew chicken was seriously incredible. A lot of places overload this dish with veggies until it turns into chaos, but this one was balanced with the right mix of ingredients and is easily one of my new favorites in KC. Only bummer: hardly any cashews. Still delicious, but I wanted a little more cashew love. Crab rangoons were hot and crispy with a solid filling even after a bit of a drive home. The fried rice had great flavor, and the steamed white rice was bouncy and soft, not that kind with crispy dry edges. Both soups were spot on, and THANK YOU for including wonton strips. A lot of places skip them and it really can make or break egg drop soup for me. General Tso's had great flavor, but the chicken pieces were a little big and it wasn't very spicy, even though we didn't order it no spicy. Not a dealbreaker, just something to know if you want that classic kick. Inside is clean and cute with tables for about 8 to 10 small groups, the front desk is toward the back, and everyone was kind and helpful. As an Elite, I also loved seeing their Yelp pride around the restaurant. Overall, super solid lunch specials and I'll absolutely be back!!
