This place has definitely grown on me in the last few years. A large role in that is due to Hoc. She is always very welcoming and friendly. For food, I will get the egg rolls, spring rolls, pho, or noodle bowl. My family prefers this to Noodle Bar. Less busy and more spacious. They have a lot of boba offerings too. I love Chopstix's, I don't cook so I eat out most of the week. My favorite meal is the five spice chicken with vegetables and a Chai snow boba. You can't beat the amazing freshness and the chicken is tender and has great spices. The restaurant is very clean and the staff is friendly. Came in to have lunch the other day. It was a Wednesday, probably around 12:45pm when I walked in. There's a sign at the front that says wait to be seated right at the door. Okay, cool. I don't mind waiting. So I wait. A few workers walk back and forth from the kitchen to the main dining area, look at me, but don't say anything. I'm thinking, "hey, maybe they're just busy, they'll get to me." 10 minutes pass, no one says anything. So, I take some initiative and go sit at the bar. An older waitress sees me sitting down, and goes back to what she was doing. She continues that, and walks by me another couple of times before I decide enough is enough. I get up, and walk out. I know it's a Vietnamese restaurant, and I really don't expect good service from a place like this. But to be completely ignored, for 15 minutes? That's just unacceptable. Though the experience sucked, it's not the first time I've been to Chopstix. I've been here enough to have an idea of what their actual food tastes like. Marginal. At best. I know because I've lived in both San Jose and Orange County, two of the most populous Vietnamese areas in the nation. A good staple comfort food: phö. I like both the beef and chicken, add some hot sauce and soy for an added taste. The prices are affordable. The place is a bit cramped, timing your visit is a must. I really liked my tofu vegetable with glass noodles. It was really hot, had the right amount of soy sauce mixed in, and the vegetables and tofu were plentiful. It was definitely good enough for one person. When I tried what my family members ordered, the fried chicken and the dry noodles tasted awful. The place definitely has an Asian Fusion feel to it, especially since you have to pay for hot tea. It's only a $1 though and it comes with refills. The food however is really cheap so you can easily spend about $10 for 2 people and you'll be good. The service here is nice. The staff is wonderful. Prices are good. The mango boba was yummy. The restaurant was cute. The beef Pho was not very good, it had over cook spaghetti noodles and 3 pieces of beef that were like cardboard. The spicy beef had alot of fish sauce and again mushy spaghetti noodles. The wonton soup was good. The steamed buns had an entire egg in it which was unexpected and wierd. I got popcorn chicken for my 8 year old and that was yummy. I may go back to try the rice dishes. Price is right and service is fast. I like trying different dishes off their menu. Today I tried the Lemon Grass Chicken and it was decent. Price is $5.99. The noodles they serve is different from the "normal" Pho rice noodles. Their noodles is a little thicker. I added in a shrimp egg roll which is one of my favorite appetizer here. It was only $1.25 for the egg roll. I also ordered the Fried Banana Dessert. I liked it and it's perfect for 2 people if you want something sweet after your meal. The fried bananas taste like a fried egg roll banana crepe! It had Chocolate inside of it and you can taste the cinnamon too. Price is $3.50. My total bill came out to $11.73 which is inexpensive. I come here all the time and today I came with my boyfriend after school. today is the last I come here. I waited about 40 mins to get my food which was the basil eggplant and when it finally came to the table the eggplant they served me was rotten. I had told the lady that it was rotten and she had just looked at us then looked at the food then walked away and said nothing. We walked up to the counter to pay for our drinks and i hear her in the back talking in Spanish saying " these assholes said the eggplant is bad and that we weren't going to eat it" then i heard another lady saying just take it off and give it back and say we're going to remake it. What used to be a very good, inexpensive place for soup and noodles has gone so far downhill I will no longer frequent them. Since 2013 we ate there or got take out about once a week. Lately I learned they no longer make their own broth and now use a commercial base (I saw the box sitting on the back bar). There are far better places to get your soup fix. read more

Moved to big new location January 2017, in an old Chinese restaurant location. Food is still good, like the old location farther North on Fremont, and the sister location in Monterey. Large dining room and large bar, nice clean decor, plenty of big screens in the bar; fountain in the entry. Kept beautiful remnants of the past such as the Golden Dragon wood squares covering the ceiling, the wood carved gateway between the bar/dining and other art work.
