Ok so I just ordered a tofu salad and spicy BBQ tofu w steam rice and there was chicken in both of them! I just posted a picture of the soft salad but I was really hungry so I ate the BBQ tofu and when i get to the last one there was little pieces of chicken on the bottom. Well, today was a nightmare! We waited for about 40 min till food arrived. My little boy's food arrived almost towards the end of our meals. We shared our food with him meanwhile. The place was disgusting. Tables were not cleaned/dishes weren't removed from it. We decided to order bobas towards the end of our meals. Bad idea!!!! They just moved their Chopstix location in Seaside two blocks to a new location with some more seats. Right next door to a Korean market, Hankook, and a Hispanic grocery store and a Korean restaurant, all of which I have been to. Once you figure out the dishes you like, you won't be disappointed. I really like their Vegetarian Spring rolls, their vegetarian noodle soup with tofu and a few other dishes. Oh, their calamari is very good too. This is my favorite place to get food. They have a really good vegan soup it's the v2 pho with udon. Lots of flavor in the broth also the combination is awesome I order it with extra meat and there pomegranate green tea with lemonade and strawberries. They also have good wings I get it with lemongrass or spicy is good too. Today was the second time eating lunch here. Ordered #9 Spicey Chicken Noodle Bowl. Delicious. If you only have 1 hour for lunch, which includes your driving time, do not have lunch here. Honestly kudos to Chopstix because it's always unbelievably busy for the amount of people they have on staff. I go here all the time when I want fast food but still very filling. So. The boba here is awesome. And some of the food is OK. The service is HORRIBLE. Pretty much the worst service I've ever had. It took almost an hour to get my food after ordering, even though it wasn't that busy. They never apologized about how long it took, and were actually just plain rude. They keep ice in very dirty ice chest, behind counter is dirty and underneath where there is some kind of equipment is very dirty. One of the attractions of Asian restaurants is that you can dine alone (girlfriend working, don't feel like company, hate people, whatever). Not here. I can understand that during busy meal-times you get blown off if you eat by yourself. But at 3 PM with no one in line the waitress frowns at you and says loudly "Just yourself??!!" The tone of voice implies " Would you rather take out? Or eat in our back parking lot?" (I tip heavily and they would have gotten about the same as for a couple.) OK, guys, it's a new business so there are still some kinks to be worked out. Yeah, the first time we were there they ran out of boba. It takes a while to get a non boba drink (ie water) and the staff can be a bit slow and disorganized. But you can tell they're trying to please and for me (a waitress) that makes up for a lot of the confusion. I'm thinking that as the restaurant grows and matures a lot of the shortages will be worked out. I've been in 3 times now. I've now tried all 3 components of the menu - the food, the boba drinks and the frozen yogurt. The food is awesome and cheap. The portions are generous and the broth for the pho was great. The boba drinks are amazing! I don't personally care for boba but my husband loves it, and the staff is happy to customize your drink any way you want it. The frozen yogurt was really good - my kids had the mango (very mild and tasted like REAL mango, not sugary syrup) and plain tart (my personal favorite). The toppings are plentiful and they even offer fresh fruit diced up to put on top. Go easy on the toppings as it can get pricey. All in all, we were impressed with this place and will definitely be going back! read more
