Your server will save you from dying of burned mouth and tongue. I don't give out many five star reviews, but Aroma earns one for their great menu, excellent dishes and servers that speak English well. And I like eating ethnic when it is TRULY ethnic. A very fine restaurant Aroma is. Remember, Aroma caters to Indian clientele tastes. THAT is their main population that come in to eat and to host parties. They are NOT catering to American tastes. Accept that. If you are not of India race, you are, truly, a guest. But you can, pretty please, ask for a lower heat level than would normally come out of the kitchen. Mango Lassi ($6), plain yogurt and your server are your saviors. Wife had a glass of white wine ($10) and generally hates dairy of any kind. Yougurt does soothe a fiery tongue and she did have a sip or two of Lassi just as first aid. When you see the word, "Bullet", it means, generally, the hottest of the hot. I like bullet naan bread, sprinkled with finely chopped green peppers and eat food with it. OK. I LOVE their Bullet Shrimp ($18 + $2 for shrimp) done mild. It was interesting as people and staff would come by our table mentioning, with amazement, that the Bullet Shrimp was the hottest thing that comes out of the kitchen. I replied that I did ask for a mild version, which put them all on the path of the truth. Even mild, you will need to eat maybe plain naan or some other dish to break up the heat distribution. It is good, though. We had the fried 65 Gobi ($15) which is cauliflower done medium heat. Yummy with mint sauce. It is wife's favorite, and we ate one order with our meal and took a second order home with us. A great appetizer, so try it, as chicken or Gobi (cauliflower). My brother lived in Andra Pradish in Hyderabad, so I ordered a Hyderabadi Masala ($17), with chicken, to try it out. Medium heat, but still spicy, it was OK with rice or naan. Probably will not order it again. Pull up your socks and go there to try it out. Remember to use your server. Start mild spice and work your way up so that you can enjoy Indian dishes as they are normally made, but adjusted to your acceptable level of spice/heat.

All that was left was lids for my dressing, bread, paying, and leaving. Another customer walked in BEHIND me and instead of finishing my order, the employee completely stopped helping me and took the new customer through the ENTIRE line while I stood there waiting. I then had to wait 5-8 minutes while the second customer slowly decided on ingredients and changed her mind multiple times. The person behind me got almost full uninterrupted service while I -- the first customer in line -- was left standing there waiting. What made it even worse was the manager's response. He defended the employee, told me she "did nothing wrong," and completely dismissed my frustration with a "have a nice evening." The issue wasn't just the wait. It was being skipped over and then treated like my frustration didn't matter. I've been there around 5 times in the last month, but after this experience, I will never return.
