I was running to a medical appointment and placed my order online so that it would be ready when I arrived. It was ready on time and the girl at the register was friendly and helpful getting me a fork and sending me on my way to my appointment. I chose the summer special salad and tweaked it a little bit. My salad had grilled chicken, hard-boiled egg, tomatoes, corn, pickled onions, carrots, and tzatziki dressing. It came to over $13. Once I got to my appointment and removed the lid, I had the overwhelming smell of onions and was chastising myself for forgetting to remove the raw onions. That's when I remembered that I did remove raw onions and swapped for pickled onions. They did not taste pickled...they were pretty potent still unfortunately. The chicken had a strange mealy texture and overall the salad lacked any flavor other than potent onion. It was mostly lettuce and few carrots, corn or tomato. I forced myself to eat half of it because it cost so much money but then threw it away. My appointment was a couple hours long. I ordered the Emily Sonnetts Signature Salad, supposedly with Chicken smoked bacon , peaches, red onion, feta, and almonds. 5 small pieces of chicken in the big bowl, no bacon, lots of lettuce. It did have a small cup of roasted almonds to pour in which made it tolerable. but certainly not worth 13.99 The other order was a Wrap and it had three pieces of chicken in the whole wrap. This establishment was incredibly clean and spacious! The menu options looked pretty amazing. I should have chosen light dressing, as the medium option was a bit too much for my liking. For a place that specializes in salads, they should be ashamed of themselves. I stopped by for a pick up order and got there a few minutes before my scheduled time. I received a text message while in the store that my food was ready but my order didn't come out for another 4 minutes after my pickup time. The employee then told me the bread would be another 7-8 minutes so I left without it. So service was not that great to start but I try and be understanding as I know many places are short staffed right now. However, I get home with my orchard salad and there are almost no toppings. I had two pieces of diced green apple, a container with about a teaspoon of walnuts, no cheese and a few small slices of super dry chicken. Not at all like the picture they provide online, not even the same kind of apples! There are so many other places with much better salads and prices in town. Stopped by here after a facial at Massage Envy. I have been to this location a few times and they have never disappointed. I have had a couple of salads and warm bowls, I like the Chicken Tinga, Mexican ceasar, and I most recently love that you can substitute Cauliflower rice for grains. This saves calories and is a healthy substitute! I tried a new warm bowl called the Mexiketo Carnitas Bowl. It was spicy and yummy. I did substitute out the grains for the cauliflower rice. This bowl was almost $14, as a heads up. The rewards app is a must have so that you get a $10 credit for every $100 you spend. read more

Confusing and pricy are two words that come to mind when I think of my experience at Chopt. I walked in to a huge board of "salad recipes" which looked like different combinations of salads and dressings, which was pretty cool. I wanted a "build your own" salad and to be the master of my own destiny. I had to ask if that was okay and it was however I was given no instruction. I had to ask if I was able to choose different sizes which there are two or three to choose from. I started building my masterpiece then after adding three toppings and half way through dumping the fourth in my bowl of greens I was told "this is your fourth topping and they are $.79 (or $.75, I can't remember) after three". This came as a shock because I would have preferred a lot more veggies or at least some different options from what I selected had I known the rules of the game. Overall, the salad and it's ingredients were fresh and tasty. I think I paid ~$10 which isn't horrible but could have been $20 had I kept going. read more

This review is just about the Arboretum location because the Park Road and Blakeney locations are excellent. At the Arboretum store the people are very kind but the salads are consistently bad. There's plenty of lettuce/greens that they pile high on the salad, but other ingredients in the salad are very skimpy, including cheese and dressing. One night I ordered from Door Dash? and my salad had about three scoops of chick peas, some dressing and a ton of romaine, nothing else that I ordered was in it! Chopt is great. This location for the food is not. They usually drench our salads, we ask for light dressing and that is better. We have avocado on several orders and they always came black. We had to start asking for green avocado not black which I find wrong to even have to ask. It's gotten so bad that the past several orders are still coming black. I love the Chopt concept and I prefer this location, by far, to the one in Blakeney. They offer a standard menu as well as specially themed menus that change regularly. This month's specialties were from Thailand. The Thai Shrimp Summer Roll Salad was fresh and delicious and the Chicken Tinga bowl, my go-to dish, is always excellent. Complimentary Bread is available. Service at this location is friendly and attentive. Sanitation score was a 96. The dining room is attractive and comfortable. I like Chopt. I really like this location. I like how you can order ahead on the app and have your food ready to pick up when you get there. I like how spacious and modern the dining area is. I even like the people who work here because they are just so dang friendly. There isn't much to not like here. I guess some might argue that salads shouldn't cost $10, but I'd argue back that the value is in the selection, quality, and freshness. I've never had any wilted greens, spoiled spinach, or really any bad toppings to speak of. Everything gets chopped here, and the guy/gal doing your chopping will add however much dressing you'd like, along with salt & pepper. On a busy day during lunch time, you're going to be standing in line for awhile. Take my advice and use the mobile app. I'm not always in the mood for a salad. But as far as getting a filling meal under 500 calories without feeling overburdened by your lunch choice, Chopt is the way to go. read more

I'm not sure what took so long, but I finally made it to Chopt! I guess when I think of going out to eat, I rarely think of salad but that has changed now. This location is in a shopping plaza so parking is easy. The restaurant was nice inside and very clean during lunch. They weren't super busy so there was plenty of seating. After a short wait in line, we ordered a few items off their destination Mexico menu. I went with the Barbacoa Beef warm bowl. They were running low on cauliflower rice(glad they have this option) so I added some lettuce to supplement the bowl. It was a bit pricey for sure, but I must say it was good. Excellent salad place with delicious flavors, and healthy options! My favorite is the spicy Santorini bowl with chicken, and I switchover romaine for kale. I love the quinoa and chicken combination for the spicy salad. I also enjoyed the palm salad, and the classic cobb. They have nice options from making your own salad to subbing ingredients. Used to love getting Chopt for my wife. She looked forward to it so much. Some time ago the management decided it would be quicker to "pre-chop" the salad ingredients to have the line move a little quicker. As evidenced by the attached photo it's quite clear that the new system is designed to fill the bowls with less ingredients. This photo shows a "Chopped" salad that I requested because my beautiful wife likes the old style of salad prep. If you can charge the same amount and dole out 1/3 less than it goes right to the bottom line. I would suggest anyone who eats at Chopt pay close attention and make sure you're getting the same amount that you used to get. There are a lot of choices in the Arbo. I am a Chopt Fan all around and when I read about the Grand Opening FREE salad with a donation to Red Cross I was all in. I usually am a 5 star reviewer for Chopt because it's just my FAVORITE salad place however I will have to say the young lady who took care of me was NOT ready for the crowd. She was very short and wouldn't listen to anything I said she had to dump salad twice because she was rushing and half listening. I want to give it a pass but she then became rude and walked over to the salad station where my salad was to be chopped without notifying me where I would be going. I totally was annoyed but another staffer who was excited about the crowd jumped in and made it all better. This location is a nice size, I LOVE the decor the open floor plan and the different communal table settings. This location will more than likely become my go to location all because of where it's located. There are a lot of places I shop for home products in the Arboretum like Bed Bath and Beyond and Michaels so a salad and shopping can go hand and hand. read more

My first time ever visiting a Chopt was to this location. It just opened, and it is a nice addition to the many restaurants in the Arboretum. The first thing I noticed about this restaurant is how spacious it is. They did not try to fit a ton of tables in a tiny space. There are spacious booths, and a ton of tables. There are also a few outside tables. Plenty of space for everyone. I went on one of the grand opening days and the staff was really hustling. My salad was excellent, and my son enjoyed his kid meal. There's definitely a ton of options and there's also a rotating seasonal menu. I would definitely like to come back. read more

My husband ordered the Spicy 30 bowl and the employee informed him that it was technically only a online order but he would make it for him. So if I tell you face to face I can't get but if I order through my phone it's okay?? Came in to pick up an order. Before it was ready I went into the restroom. After successfully draining my bladder, and not being a caveman, I went to wash my hands. The soap dispenser on my right installed into the wall was totally empty of soap. So I noticed a dispenser to my left which was also empty. It's clear that no one checks these things. Lately there's been some issue with my lunch order. I'll use the app around 12pm to have it ready by 2. I get there and it's not ready. It's really disheartening because chopped is one of my favorite salad restaurants. I love their menu, I love the salad so you can sleep with them and the variation of salad dressings. There was literally no kale to be found, and if I'm ordering something with kale it's because I want kale. Kale isn't something you just order for fun. Every single time I try to go to any of the locations in Charlotte as of the last few months they are closed well before their listed hours. Multiple times I have attempted to walk in over an hour before closing only to find the doors locked and the lights off inside. There is nothing to indicate changing hours for any location. read more
