I love how the menus are on a big bright screen it like entices you. Store is so bright and beautiful, clean as well. Don't get me wrong, Chopt is my go-to salad place. In fact, it used to be a frequent visit - but it's become very inconsistent and, honestly, I dread coming in. Although (most) of the employees are nice and welcoming, it doesn't take away the fact that they don't know what they're doing. Every time I come in, it's a different error. I get the same order, yet every person I seem to talk to has no idea what I'm talking about or is adamant they don't sell it anymore. (Weird, they had a card stack of salad recipes so they couldn't just check that out?) I had one girl try to argue with me about it being an actual thing they sold... The usual $12 salad gets the occasional $19(!?) price tag... it's so bizarre. I feel like they need to be trained more thoroughly on the versions they sell. And maybe understand the difference between a create-your-own salad and an already-created salad since that's a steep price difference. read more

Okay, I am SO disappointed in myself for not trying this place much sooner! Go ahead & get someone to start driving you here as you read this review. As soon as I walked in, I was already impressed. The interior is way more spacious & sophisticated than I would've thought. There are booths in little nooks for intimate seating, tables on the other side with outlets & plenty of workspace, larger table for groups in the middle--they've got it all. It's a place you want to hang out at because it's so inviting, and that's without even taking the food itself into consideration yet! There was quite a line when I walked in on a Thursday at lunchtime. I thought this would buy me some time to decide what I wanted, but it moved so quick with all of the staff they had that I didn't get a chance to read through the menu! I told my "chopper" that it was my first time, so I wanted to build a custom salad but wasn't sure where to start. She was more than pleasant and helpful to explain the simple process. I chose my add-ins first, then the salad base, then the dressing (Mexican Goddess is wonderful!) I love that they are patient with you & considerate of the details, such as listing each of my options that even contained the word "onion" when I asked for them (pickled red onions added a perfect kick) or asking if I wanted light, regular, or heavy dressing. I kind of regret passing up the bread I was offered so I could have given it a try. Once I got to the end of the counter I paid about $12 for my salad & a drink. Drink options were pretty much between the complimentary infused water by the front, sweet tea, hibiscus refresher (what I chose), or lemonade if you don't get something pre-packaged in the cooler. The way they chop the salad to combine all of your flavors together is what makes it supreme. Everything was beyond fresh, local (!!!), and totally customizable to ensure you get exactly what you want. I REALLY wish there was a location near me, but this will be a must-stop anytime I see one while on travel. I went through and read all of the reviews below 4 stars because while some places can be overrated, this is not one of them & I don't understand how someone could compare this salad to some of the other places I saw. Whoever decided to put this restaurant in the Forum is a marketing genius. Chopt caters to the uber healthy community that is Wilmington, and by putting it near boutique shops and gyms they pretty much nailed their market. That being said, this place is amazing. The decor is reminiscent of a Swedish vibe- clean lines and pops of color. The staff are super friendly and helpful in navigating the menu options, which is great, because there are a lot of choices. You can do menu based salads, you can make your own creation, you can choose a noodle bowl...it's a bit overwhelming at first so having menus by the line is great. Speaking of lines, don't let the line fool you. It moves very efficiently. Once you choose your creation, you have the option of making as many substitutions or additions that you'd like. Summer tomatoes? Yes please! Once your bowl is created you meet a "chopper" who then literally chops your salad and adds their homemade dressing. There's a recommended dressing but you can choose any of their options. They even ask you if you'd like more or less dressing. The whole process is highly customized, right down to how much you'd like your salad chopped. The end result is a super fresh, delicious tasting salad that you can either get to go or enjoy inside or outside. I've had the Mexican Caesar and the Kebab Cobb and have really enjoyed both of them. You can pick up a kumbacha or flavored tea and they also offer organic chips. It's a little pricey but dang, it's a good salad. read more

This place is absolutely fantastic. My wife and I frequent Chopt weekly. The food is extremely consistent, fresh, and scrumptious. I typically go for the Mexican Caesar, but have tried almost everything on the menu and they are all great. In addition to the wonderful food, the staff is extremely friendly and efficient with preparing each order. Terry is a fantastic person and clearly takes pride in whatever he is doing. It was all I could taste. I get they may have had to change a couple protocol due to COVID, but this is just really unacceptable. I had to pick all the chicken out and throw it away. We had such a fun time here today! There are multiple choices of salads with fun names already made. I appreciated how they had them labeled as 'light' or 'classics', along with other headings. It made deciding what to choose a little bit easier. You could also make your own salad as well, but that seemed a little overwhelming for me today. (So many choices!) I chose the palm beach, which was light and healthy, but still filling. Don't let the fact that it's a salad fool you-the salad is huge, and I was definitely full after eating! The line moves very quickly. The first worker will take your order, pile everything in a bowl, and then hand you your ticket (which you use to pay). Then the second worker takes your salad, dumps it on a cutting board, where he chops it, mixes it with your dressing, and then places it back in your salad bowl. The whole process is very entertaining to watch! The chopper guy (ha) was very personable-he talked about his favorite salad, and even let me keep my dressing on the side. When you check out, you can also get some complimentary bread and a drink. I just got water, and I loved the station that had the cucumber/lemon water. It was so refreshing! The whole restaurant is open, light, airy, and clean- I loved the atmosphere inside. I personally think that Chopt being in this shopping center, with yoga and pure barre locations, as well as cute boutiques, is an amazing fit. I went to Chopt today for the first time! On a Friday afternoon in a really busy part of town and it was great! We walked in along with many people and it was wide open and airy. A light feeling to it, it was organized and easy to tell where it was you were supposed to go next. You got in line, they gave you a menu and you could look up and see the menu- or read the large one detailing all the salads. You stand in line- the line moved very, very quickly. When you get up to the front you can pick out a salad from the menu or from the board you can modify it without any recrimination. You can add extra this or extra that, it's all very neat and organized. They use measuring cups to measure everything. They put all the ingredients in and then they move you to the next part of the line and there they dump the whole salad back out and then they chop it. They make it all nice and small- to whatever Size it is you want, medium size or extra small - they'll chop it till it's next to nothing! tThey put it back in the bowl and they add the salad dressing- they spin it around and then they give it to you. I would make sure you add extra salad dressing because the first go-around that they put on there isn't really very much. they then asked if it's to go or to stay. I got mine to go go that way I had a lid because it look like a substantial salad and I'm glad I did! it was excellent- they give you a complimentary piece of bread to go with your salad if you want it. I just had water. it's a very clean place. they have indoor and outdoor seating . I would suggest you give it a try! read more

Didn't want to end up with a $30 dollar salad so I selected a pre made one and it was just OK. Rice was hard and flavor was bland. Also felt the staff was not very friendly. Wonderful variety of really fresh and delicious items; you can go with one of their featured salads (or such) or go crazy by creating your own. This being the first time, I elected to go with their Summer Picnic Salad and was not disappointed. Watching the ingredients go together and then be prepared (I'm not giving it away, you'll just have to go yourself) was entertaining and the friendliness of the crew there has made me realize that there are places where customer service is just that.
