Heard about this place from friend and came to try it out. It didn't disappoint us. Looks like they recently started it out. The place looked like it was undergoing some renovation. We ordered Mutton Biryani and Apricot Delight, but they were out of Apricot Delight. Mutton biryani was very tasty , the meat well done and masala just the right amount. Salan and Raita were just meh Overall a good meal, excited to try more

Got the mutton biryani and it's $20 well spent. I was surprised when I took it out because it was seriously hefty. Weighed it and it's THREE POUNDS EXACTLY. Two hours since purchasing and it was still hot, and flavor was great. Super fragrant and just a little spicy. Got the food in like seven minutes and the person working the counter was very respectful. The inside is clean, no smell of food while I was waiting.

Tried a mix of appetizers and biryanis/mandi. Appetizers were fine. The Chicken Dum Biryani was really good -- flavorful and worth ordering again. Chicken 65 Biryani was just okay. The Chicken Mandi, though... total miss. Super dry and no flavor. On the upside, the Irani chai was great and the fruit cream totally hit the spot. Overall, some hits and some big misses.

What a disappointment. Terrible unappetising not good at all. I'd give it 0 stars if possible. I am from Hyderabad so this is not authentic at all. Both mutton and chicken biryani was bad. No flavor at all. Chicken 65 has so much vinegar in it. The desserts are also mediocre. The tables are cheap, low quality and was moving the entire time. Cheap chairs. No cutlery, they gave the cheapest plastic spoons. Cheap plates, plastic cups for water. They serve in Togo box to the tables. I would recommend not to visit and waste your money. Too pricey for the service taste and quality.

Chowrasta comes across as a good alternative to Deccan morsels style restaurants. It's more hygienic and has a better vibe but we were disappointed on the main segment - food taste :). Majestic chicken had a strong scent of turmeric, likely this ingredient was used too much, nevertheless it did have an effect on the taste. On the other hand, the chicken 65 had more red color than needed. Both starters weren't that good. The biryani was good, it had a good balance of masala and the chicken was cooked well. I'd likely come back again only for the biryani - will do a take out and skip the hassle of dining in, which is what we did today and didn't like at all. The food comes in to-go boxes anyway, might as well bring it home and eat:).

The chicken sticks and zafrani chai ! Very good !

A friend said their butter chicken is good. I tried their Fred chicken sticks and they were very tough - I couldn't finish them.

If you're looking for authentic Hyderabadi food that's full of heart, flavor, and warm hospitality -- Chowrasta is an absolute must-visit. This place isn't just another restaurant; it feels like a culinary passion project. The owner, a chemical engineer turned chef, has poured his soul into bringing his mother's traditional recipes to life. And trust me -- you can taste love and legacy in every single bite. What We Tried (and loved!):     *    Chicken Sticks - Juicy, perfectly spiced, and grilled just right. It was my first time trying this particular flavor and it blew me away. A definite must-try!     *    Talawa Gosht - A Hyderabadi classic done to perfection. Tender, thin slices of meat with crispy edges and layers of spice. So addictive -- we couldn't stop picking at it.     *    Chicken 65 - Crispy, tangy, spicy -- exactly what you'd expect from this iconic street food, but with a gourmet twist.     *    Majestic Chicken - Creamy, mildly spiced, and totally unique. It's got this rich, comforting flavor that makes it stand out from your typical Indian chicken dishes.     *    Chef's Special Chicken Curry - This one's comfort in a bowl. Rich and aromatic without being heavy, with perfectly cooked chicken and a balanced blend of spices. You'll be thinking about this curry long after the meal is over.     *    Mutton Biryani - Honestly, one of the best biryanis I've had in the Bay Area. Fragrant rice, tender mutton, and a beautiful balance of flavors -- not greasy, not overwhelming, just spot-on.     *    Irani Chai - Smooth, milky, slightly sweet -- the perfect way to wrap up a hearty meal. One of the highlights of the evening? The owner himself came out to chat with us. He walked us through the story behind each dish, how it's prepared, and what makes it special. You can tell he's truly passionate about the food he's serving -- and rightly so. The staff was also incredibly warm and attentive, making the whole experience feel homely and welcoming. It's rare to find a spot where passion meets precision, but Chowrasta pulls it off beautifully. The flavors are bold but balanced, the ingredients are fresh, and there's a genuine soul to the cooking that's hard to come by. If you love Indian food -- or just good food, this spot will leave you planning your next visit before you've even finished dessert.

We did a takeout. The food was ready in 10 minutes and the food items were hot when we picked them up. Decor: Simple, elegant and clean. They have an outdoor patio as well. It looked good. Service: Friendly staff. They told us that they were going to add vegetarian items to the menu. Food: DAAicious. Mutton biryani was really good and definitely of higher quality compared to the other biryani places in Fremont. Perfectly cooked meat with flavorful rice. It's a must try item. The biryani came with mirch ka salang which was soooo good. They should add this Salang as a veggie item. Their Haleem is the best one I've tasted in the Bay Area. Chicken 65 came with Rumali roti. Rumali roti was thin and soft. My kids loved it. I'm definitely going back to try out their kabobs and other items.

It's just a little cold in there for some reason. We started with a watermelon spritz and the inji-puli lotus appetizer since we'd never tried anything like that, and it was very yummy and had such a nice crispy but soft texture. It was also a good portion for all four of us. We got the goat curry and the chettinad spice vegetables, and a few parathas to share. We were afraid it wouldn't be enough but the parathas are actually very filling, and also have a really great texture of both crispy and soft, and delicious flavor. The curries were good, could have used a bit more salt but good spice. The stars of the show were the desserts - this deserves its own section because omg I'm still thinking about the desserts!!! We got the gulab jamun brûlée - an amazingly well done take on creme brûlée with a perfect top, easy to crack and beautifully flavored. The filling was amazing and sweet and so so yummy. They also were kind enough to give us a complimentary chocolate cake which was absolutely amazing. I'm generally not too impressed by chocolate but the quality of this cake was phenomenal with perfect sweetness and richness. I need these two again !! Definitely recommend coming here for an occasion.

Casual fine dining. Decent seating, good for groups. Decent prices. ***FOOD: we tried a whole bunch of items- *crispy baby corn-3.5/5- very crispy with a sweet and tangy coating indicating liberal vinegar usage. *malai soy chaap: 3.5/5: excessive usage of malai(aka fat). Indulgent and decent enough for a small serving. *vellulli kaaram paneer-3/5- lacked salt. Paneer was softish but felt a bit chewy and hard in places. *black pepper mushroom curry- 4/5- this was my favorite dish that evening. The fragrant curry leaves, earthiness of the mushroom and the black pepper created an intoxicating combination. It was floating in excess oil but was lip smacking delicious. *chilli garlic Naan: 4.5/5: I normally don't rate naan as they are non descript but the version here was wonderful. Thin, not burnt on the downside and paired oh so well with the mushroom curry. *Egg biryani- 3.5/5- this was spicy rather than being flavorful. Since it was made with egg, I didn't mind the spice.

I'm motivated to write this review specifically for 3 items that I enjoyed a lot. Lasuni Soya Chaap, Mushroom Pepper Fry and Chilli Garlic Naan. All 3 tasted amazing and made the experience all the more better. Lasuni Soya Chaap was flavorful, with generous amounts of garlic Chilli Garlic Naan was so good, that it didn't need another curry on the side. It was a novel idea and was a hit! Mushroom Pepper Fry was spicy but with pepper, the best way to spice things up! Enjoyed it. We also ordered Egg Biryani. It was so disappointing - very bland, both the rice and egg. Chili Paneer was just ok. Seemed like a tad bit extra ketchup Babycorn 65 was crispy and good too. The next time I come here, will max out on the appetizers, they seemed to be doing a great job. Coming back to try their non-vegetarian menu.

Despite the size of the restaurant, there were plenty of attentive waitstaff, and service was prompt throughout our visit. Most importantly, the food was flavorful and well prepared. The non-veg had a pungent smell from the fish that got to all the other meat in the platter. Wouldn't recommend either. Additionally we tried the sev poori chaat option, was sweet but good. Mains: absolutely have to try the pepper chicken! Delicious!! Don't get the madras chicken and get the chicken korma instead. The gravies were distinct and had a good taste for both pepper and korma. Brownie was a good nostalgic finish to our meal. The ambience is super dense, and probably they have more furniture than they need.

It was sweet, flavorless, dry and lacking spice - four out of four people didn't like it. I definitely won't be trying it again. The Mutton Biryani, was flavorful and definitely many times better than chicken biryani. The Haleem was the absolute best item we ordered and a definite hit, making it worth trying again. Be warned about their 'Family Pack'. It's advertised as a family size but serves about two people, not definitely four, which is quite pricey for a 32oz bucket at $40. While the Haleem's quality justified the price as a seasonal item, the 'Family Pack' concept for biryani is poor value. I'd recommend the Haleem and Mutton Biryani, but steer clear of the Chicken Biryani and don't expect the "Family Pack" to feed more than two, 3 at best.

If you walk into a place on a Wednesday night, and all the tables are taken, that's a sign. You walk in and it smells incredible, that's a sign. You see people laughing and chatting while partaking from varied dishes, then that's a sign! We ordered the Naga special chicken curry, the brinjal curry and the shrimp mango curry( that comes with rice), and roti and naan. Portions are ample , place is clean and service is satisfactory. Our sever Gopal took care of us in a timely and friendly fashion. The food itself, I mean , the flavors are all there. Each dish tastes unique and you get a sense you are eating out. No home style simple cooking here, the spices are intense and each dish has a bite. Isn't that why you go out to eat? Prices are really good, if you consider what other places charge for entrees. And everything comes out piping hot and fresh. So don't wait till the weekend to try it out, go today!

Never quite experienced an Indian restaurant with so much attentiveness and kindness. Server kept asking how our food is and if everything is alright :) We ORDERED the special goat curry, butter naan and butter roti (we went to another restaurant before this haha). I appreciate how descriptive their MENU is as they do list the ingredients. The goat was tender, juicy and delicious. Server warned us that medium is super spicy so we went with mild which we did not think it was spicy at all. Naan and roti were good. Roti is a bit more dry than the naan. Would order the naan again. VIBEZ: Lots of take out orders. Lots of different cultures and ages dining in. Love the modern and clean decor. Located in a plaza with tight parking. Would I come back? Yes! Why the 4 stars? I wish they'd leave a tray of napkins on the table instead of the need to repeatedly ask for more napkins (because some of us/some cultures can't stand the oiliness on their hands...). I also wish there was more variety on their menu especially regarding the veggie curries... what happened to palak paneer? :( ...also found it to be strange that their online menu was different especially regarding the apps portion. Plus I always order rice and when I saw multiple tables ordering rice, it was just a bowl of white basmati rice...wished they'd flavor it like multiple other establishments.
