I have been going to David at Robert Kree since 2003. He is by far the best! Not only do I enjoy talking to him but I have never had a bad hair color or cut from him. People - this is 4 years of every month going. He has never made a mistake and everyone that I send to him thanks me afterwards. Also, what a great small salon with no attitude - even though the clientele might warrant it. I enjoy this place for its location (a few blocks from my house) but also for its character and its garden in the back. For all of you who have had to be in a salon for three hours at a time, you should be able to appreciate being able to sit outside with a glass of wine and a magazine. He is the first stylist that I feel has really made a point to truly understand what I am looking for - he takes his time to ask questions and is very thorough. I have never had a good haircut experience in my whole life (28 years) until I let Carlos cut my hair at Chris Chase Salon; my type of hair is "extremely difficult curly hair" and I have never been able to go with the same person to cut my hair because I never liked how anyone cut it! I even thought it was me being difficult. When I went to my first appointment with Carlos I was just expecting the same thing because I didn't wanna get disappointed, but it was the best decision I could've made! When I moved back to NYC, I went hunting for a new salon. This was the third one that I tried and much like the fairytale - this one was just right I love my stylist. First, he is VERY good with the cut. He also does my color and it is so nice to walk in a brunette, not have the stylist assume that I want to be a blonde - and then walkout a brunette. My hair does not look like it has colored at all - just a few lowlights here and there to give it a little more oomph. No weird streaks. Ever since I started going here people have asked me where I get my haircut. I have even had random people stop me in the street to ask. And the price is excellent. So not only is is better than the first two places that I tried - it is cheaper as well. Who could ask for more? I was very fortunate to find Carlos at Chris Chase salon; all by chance. As I was getting ready to go into chemo therapy I wanted to go into treatment looking as good as I possibly could (I was going to start the very next day) . Chase Salon was totally booked. I actually found this salon on yelp and wanted to let others know about my experience. I have been to "best" salons in NYC- Bumble and Bumble, Fekkai, Vidal Sasson, Oscar Blandi, Warren Tricomi... Since finding this salon I have returned to 3 times for color and I have nothing bad to say about any of those experiences. I really like this salon. It's in a convenient location, has a great vibe and everyone is professional. They text reminders for the appointment which is very useful, and when they offer you coffee, it comes to you in a covered mug and a little glass container for milk. The layout there is nice and spacious and doesn't feel crowded like other salons. It's the little things that make the difference. I get my hair cut and colored by Liz, who is an amazing hair stylist with a lot of experience. I've been a client for many years and she has never steered me wrong. She does incredible razor cuts and whether I'm rocking a short pixie cut or trying to grow out my hair to a bob, she keeps my hair looking terrific. I won't go to anyone but Liz. read more

He's the best, so I flew to New York for the weekend and he came in on his day off to take excellent care of me! Nobody has ever done blonde highlights like him. There's tons of blondes in Cali, and we like perfection. Carlos is a perfectionist. I never know exactly how to tell Carlos to do my hair, but fortunately, he knows better than I do. What a gem of a salon and stylist! Carlos is truly one of the most professional visionary stylists I have ever had the pleasure of meeting and being a client of. Sheryl who applied treatment to my hair was an absolute doll, constantly ensuring I was ok and comfortable. Carlos is not only very personable, but he also took the time to listen very intently to what I wanted and asked about my hair history (which has been a complete mess!) so he can address any concerns I may have had with suggestions for improvement. I didn't know where to go once I came to the city. I read the reviews and decided to give this salon a try. Well, they are wonderful from the moment you walk in the door. I am obsessed with Carlos at the Chris Chase salon. I requested him for my first visit last year after reading all the amazing yelp reviews about him and I have to say that he definitely lived up to the hype. I came in after getting getting my highlights done at a different salon that I went to on a groupon (which i will NEVER do again). The last salon really did not get what I was going for after my very detailed and specific instructions and completely messed up my hair. Even after they tried to fix it on a different visit it just didn't look right but I thought "whatever" I decided to live with it. Carlos was the exact opposite experience. He completely understood what I wanted (I am in law school and want hair that's a little fun/crazy while keeping it somewhat professional). He made my hair look AMAZING with both the cut and the color. Even my boyfriend who never notices my hair told me it was the best it ever looked after going to Carlos. This was a few haircuts ago and now I just go to him and completely put my hair in his capable hands. I get compliments on my hair all the time (even weeks/months after the haircut). I just moved to NYC about a year ago and still have not found a hairstylist that I love or trust, which is really odd being that it's NY. Anyways, I read some great reviews about Jeremiah and made an appointment with him. He's been my guy ever since. I absolutely LOVE this salon! I moved to NYC from NC and was so sad to leave my stylist there! luckily a friend of mine here recommended and knew RICK! so i went to him and he is AMAZING! everyone here is super friendly and the environment is lovely! I get my hair highlighted and the technique Rick uses is amazing and I can go 8 to 10 weeks (more now that roots are in) without getting it done. If you get your hair highlighted absolutely go to RICK! to be honest i dont get it cut to much here, only because it is a pricey place and i have long hair and keep it that way, so i just need a trim now and then, however Rick does amazing things with curly hair! read more

Jenna Montefusco is the best hair colorist hands down. I came in three years ago never happy with the color I was getting after visiting numerous hair salons throughout the city for many years and she gets it perfect every time. Highly recommend her! She is also incredibly sweet and I don't know what I would do without her. If you are a brunette trying to go lighter and ashier she is your girl!! I always went to various salons saying exactly what I wanted and I still came out with warm tones which was always the main NO point in my lengthy explanation of what I wanted. Aut is the best! She is a true artist not just a hair dresser... She really listens to your needs and make it even better than you expect. My hair is very hard to deal with (it is very thick and there is a lot it use to be long got a shorter haircut with Aut who did an incredible job. Would definitely recommend it.
